I'm Valerie, a recently divorced CFO from LA. After discovering lesbian erotica, I joined an online book club and have been indulging in steamy novels ever since. A new chapter in my life starts when Syd, a fellow member I've been sharing a sexy online exchange with, invites me to her house in Quebec. It seems excessive to get on a flight for someone I don't know, but my curiosity wins over my deeply grounded sensibilities, and soon I find myself tangled in a web of discovery and raging desire.

Edit: February 3rd, 2021.

I’ve enjoyed reading all of Madeleine Taylor’s books so far and this second one is my least favourite. It’s great (except the end, which really doesn’t work for me), I just like the others even more.

In Online, I love how a virtual relationship becomes real, how what started as “just sex” for both characters and an experiment for Valerie becomes so much more for both and an entire journey for Valerie. I like how different both characters are and how open they are to pushing boundaries. Val, in particular, keeps stepping out of her comfort zone, which shows both how brave she can be and how safe Syd makes her feel even as she unsettles her. Madeleine Taylor writes these situations perfectly, the self-discovery, the temptation, the letting go. Tessa Stavers‘ narration is as good as usual, even though I found it slightly too dramatic at times. But I liked her voices for the different characters.

------------------------------------------------

Madeleine Taylor’s first book, The Good Girl, was a surprisingly tender erotic romance, hot and well-written. Part of the appeal was MC Emily’s ingenuity and the contrast with the mysterious woman she met at a hotel bar. I wouldn’t say Valerie, in whose point of view Online is told, is as naive but she’s nevertheless much less experienced than Syd, the woman from her online book club she fantasises about.

Valerie, a Los Angeles straight (as far as she knows) divorcee, joined a lesbian erotica online book club after buying her first lesbian erotic novel by mistake. She loved it and has kept buying more since. She figures her crush on Syd, another member of the club living in Quebec, is harmless, until Syd suggests they start chatting more privately. Chatting being an entirely inaccurate word for what they do. Val soon realises that, as much as she relishes being in control as a top financial executive, she delights in being a submissive in the bedroom just as much.

While I enjoyed this second novella tremendously, it lacks the sense of novelty the previous one had. Maybe The Good Girl had me set my expectations too high but it felt at times as if Online was trying a tad too hard. That said, it’s as deliciously written as the first novella was and delves deeper into the exploration of one’s sexuality. Both MCs are multilayered and sexy, each in her own way; the only real secondary character, Ellen, Val’s best friend, is a breath of fresh air and brings just the right amount of levity into the situation to allow Val to talk about the changes her life is going through without feeling judged, at the same time giving the reader further insight. Once again, the characters are taken by surprise by their own feelings and what was supposed to be a bit of fun – or, rather, extremely hot sex – morphs unexpectedly (to them) into a whole lot more. Madeleine Taylor is extremely good at making this turn of events sound plausible when it could seem artificial, and the novella format fits perfectly. With this second book, Madeleine Taylor is now firmly set on my must-read-authors list.

I received a copy from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Whoever you are Madeleine Taylor, you have me hooked. This was one scrumptious lesbian erotica read. Even the storyline had me intrigued. It was the perfect length that gave the reader enough insight into the characters while the sexual chemistry was at the forefront.

If you’re looking for a novella that is not only sexy but a bloody good read, you must check out online sooner rather than later.

This erotica novella was a surprisingly good read. The author took a texting/video relationship that usually is not my favorite to read about, and made a meaningful and great story. With a strong connection and just overall great writing, this one was a winner for me. On to the next one!

Online is the second erotic novella by Madeline Taylor and it seems she is continuing her earlier success. I thought The Good Girl was a tad sexier than this one, but don’t worry, there is plenty of erotic goodness to be had.

Newly divorced Val discovers lesfic and so much more when she connects online with Syd. Cyber sex is cool but meeting in person is so much better.

f/f hot sexy times, skype sex, some strap-on action and light bdsm

Themes: I am straight but gay for you, chatroom, just sex turns into something more.

‘Online’ is a lesbian erotica audiobook, a short novella with elements of BDSM. As more and more people connect and meet online, this story explores how the internet helps many to explore different aspects of sexuality and rediscover themselves.

Valerie is a straight recently divorced CFO from LA who stumbles upon the world of lesbian erotica by chance. After joining an online lesbian erotica book group, she befriends Quebec tattoo artist Syd who ignites feelings that Valerie didn’t know she had. When Syd invites her to Quebec, Valerie will discover that maybe she wasn’t that straight after all.

I’ve listened to Ms. Taylor’s novella called ‘The Good Girl‘, also narrated by Tessa Stavers and absolutely loved it so trying ‘Online’ was a no-brainer. I’m glad that I did because this was another winner. Despite that this author likes her anonymity, she knows how to attract new readers and she’s got me hooked. Expect hot, explicit sex but also great chemistry between the characters with a background story to support it.

In ‘The Good Girl’, Ms. Taylor explores the sexuality of a somehow repressed woman with a rigid religious upbringing and how she discovers new aspects of herself in an anonymous relationship. In ‘Online’, Valerie is an allegedly heterosexual woman who rediscovers her sexuality thanks to the anonymity of online connections and who, despite her initial fears, decides to take risks. There is a light BDSM aspect to the plot and a small mystery that brings more excitement to the reading (or listening) experience.

The audiobook was narrated by Tessa Stavers, who again did a great job. Her voices are all distinctive, her pace just right and her performance of the erotic parts was spot-on. If you are looking for a short, entertaining and hot listen and you don’t mind a bit of BDSM, then I highly recommend this to you. 4.5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. If you're a fan of erotic romances, with a hint of BDSM, you can't go far wrong picking up a copy.

If those things don't appeal to you, never fear, there is far more to the story than just sexy time.

The characters and three dimensional and, for a short story, the author does a fantastic job of bring it to life. It's rich with details and the 'feels'.

For now, I'll anxiously await the authors next offering.

WOW - ANOTHER FANTASTIC READ

Val has found lesbian erotica by accident and joined a book club online. Syd is a tattoo artist and also a member of the online book club.

This is even better (if that is possible) than her debut novel. It is more than just sex. The chemistry between them both is off the charts. I wouldn't advise reading this at work and make sure you have some ice cold water or better an ice cold shower to cool off after reading.

I look forward to the audio book coming out and I hope it is read by Tessa Stavers like her first book.

This is one really really hot sizzling read. Valerie, a recently divorced (supposedly straight) CFO and artistic Syd met in an online (erotica) book club; what follows are plenty of steamy scenes between these 2.

If you are in the mood to read a book with hot sexy steamy scenes (with not much of a plot) then this book might just do it for you 😊

I really enjoyed this book. It was short but the author did a great job with the writing and the story. A lot happened in only 150 pages. Their chemistry was ✨🤌🏽 and the spice was hot.

This follow-up to Madeleine Taylor's The Good Girl is quite sexy and entertaining. This one I read, The Good Girl I listened to in audiobook form. I understand Tessa Stavers is also going to narrate this one and I look forward to that. I love what she did with the first! Online is a good, satisfying, hot read. A little light BDSM is included but even if you're not into that, there is nothing here that would put you off. Definitely a fantasy, and I'm good with that. That's what erotica is for, after all! Although it didn't affect me in quite the same way as the first (I was panting after that listen) it is certainly worth buying. I'll definitely get this in audio when available and continue to purchase Taylor's future work. Two for two! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

Online was hot with a great build-up to all the sex. The sexual energy between both protagonists, online and off, was scorching which only led to mind-blowing sex. I did enjoy this tiny tale of erotica, but I couldn't help but notice the repetitiveness of certain words which ultimately made me cringe and ruined some of the eroticism for me. I appreciate the author taking us to Quebec and showing us the charming, old-world beauty of the French world. I didn't care for Ellen, Val's friend, all that much. I found her snobbish, especially where Quebec or Canada was concerned. I was highly insulted by her lack of intelligence, knowledge, and culture. Syd won me over from the get-go. She was a hot, soft-butch dominate with an underlying tenderness. Other than the sex, the little twist in the book got my blood pumping. The ending rocked me (personal reasons)

A great escapism

TOTALLY NSFW!!!
Valerie is a divorced CFO that accidentally ordered an erotic lesbian book and it is changing her life. In an online chat group she meets Syd and eventually flies out to meet her and her world will never be the same again!!!

OMFG!!! This book is SERIOUSLY HOT!!! This book makes Ms Taylor’s first book, Good Girl, look like a children's book and (it is also very intense).... 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The writing is wonderful, It drew me in from the start and I couldn’t stop reading. It was too good, even without the sexy bits, to stop reading. The characters loveable, I enjoyed them both and loved the dynamic between them. There is a lot to love, especially the sexy bits… oh my! Even a cold shower couldn't cool me down!!! I want to read it again but I need to buy more batteries first…

When it fades, all I can do is continue to stare up into her captivating blue eyes. She’s got me.

Enjoyable, but my least favourite Madeleine Taylor so far. The things that sapped my enjoyment are relatively minor (in that they only came up a couple times) but it was significant enough to cast a little downer on this. The setup is interesting: a divorced woman coming to terms with her sexuality via lesbian erotica, and eventually meeting up with a woman she's been chatting with through a book club. Val and Syd definitely had chemistry, and I loved how charged and exciting those beginning chapters were. But I didn't really love the domineering and frankly presumptuous way Syd started their sexual relationship. I mean, it was fine, because after her shock Val was super into it? I'm just not a fan of that overly alpha shit, lol. There was a fatphobic comment and Val refers to herself as 'exotic', specifically because of the fact that she's mixed, and man I don't speak for everyone, but I can't think of a single person of colour who would describe themselves like that.

But like every other Madeleine Taylor book, it was really hot, so if that's what you want, it's what you'll get!

Online is the second erotic romance by Madeleine Taylor narrated by Tessa Stavers, and again the combination of writer and narrator works to make this a very hot listen. Though the action in this novella starts almost immediately, for me the truly affecting moments came later in the book after the characters got to know one another. A good part of that is likely comfort level. When someone meets another person online - especially when they have a lot to lose - my instinct would be to err on the side of caution. So when this very successful CFO decides to start sharing intimate details of herself with a stranger, it made me a bit nervous. But once they connected in person, it became much easier to relax and enjoy the story. It felt like Tessa's narration hit it's stride then as well. The only way these types of erotic/light BDSM stories appeal to me is when there is absolute trust and consent and that is certainly the case here. Tessa has a great voice for erotica - I loved her work on Taylor's The Good Girl. At 4-1/2 hours, it's just the right length and I found it to be a most satisfying listen. Recommend! 4.5 stars

Lovely.

Another well written, low angst, sexy story from Ms. Taylor. Pretty much instant intense connection and chemistry between the MCs with a sweet story throughout. The spice is sprinkled in in an authentic way to support the story and character growth and it is very nicely written! Hope to see more from this author!!

Lesbian erotica about lesbian erotica ... very nice!

A toaster-over, online romance with lots of heat and some cute little surprises. A great read if you're looking for something short, sweet, and spicy!

This could have been the greatest piece of literary genius in the entire world (it wasn’t, but I knew what I was getting myself into when I started) and I still would have rated it one star because the last line made me cringe so hard I wanted to slink out of my own skin.
