Although this book is Swedish, I read the Norwegian version. It was my first book in Norwegian and I learnt a lot about bears and was able to answer the 12 questions in the back of the book.

One of the 'facts' was incorrect though, stating bears usually have 1-2 cubs, maybe 3, when they actually can have 1-6.

This book is about bears that I knew about, but only a few that I didn't know about. The bears I do know about are black bears, grizzly bears, polar bears, and pandas. There were more than just those that I found out about in Bears. I learned about brown bear cubs leaving their mother when they are about three years old. I learned that any kind of bear, if it is hot, it goes in the water to cool off which I think is funny because they get wet and need to dry themselves off.

Bears is a great non fiction book that would be perfect for older children to read by themselves with the easy text and nice layout throughout the book but it can also be enjoyed by being read to younger children.

The children found it very interesting to learn about bears and we got to discover different kinds of bears (some of which I didn't even know existed!), how they grow, what they eat, where they live etc. and lots more. This book is full of information which is fantastic and yet is still written for a younger audience so that it's not too overwhelming with all the information.

The illustrations are a mix between cartoon style pictures and photos which works well for the book. Some are used more as a way to demonstrate how something is done which is helpful to help children understand and the photos are brilliant to keep the children interested and wanting to know more. The children loved seeing all the bears, they liked the pandas and polar bears the best whilst I was fascinated by the sloth bear.

The index and glossary at the back are a great way to introduce children to the format of a non fiction book. We really enjoyed this book and learning lots about bears, a great book which would be ideal for children up to around 7yrs.

An educational picture book for young children which illustrates the different types of bears and how they live.
Young children can benefit from this book by learning about the natural lives of bears, what they eat, how they care for young, and specific specie characteristics. Great for girls and boys and anyone who is intersted; I learned something new :)

I really enjoyed this book. Though, in my opinion, it seemed a bit scattered. Like it would talk about one kind of bear, the. Make a statement about bears in a more genealogy sense. But this is a great book!

This book is a great way to learn about the different kinds of bears. I like how it is written in big letters so it makes it easier to read. It also has real pictures so the children can see what they're learning about.

There are several different types of bears. There are bears that live in cold places and bears that live in warmer places. Different bears use different techniques to hunt and find food. Some bears even climb trees and some are great swimmers. Throughout the Bears book, a reader simply learns the basics of the life of a bear.

My favorite part of this book is the pictures because they are very realistic. I especially like the pages with pandas because panda bears are probably my favorite type.

This would be a great book for students to read when learning about different types of animals and the way they live. Each student could research or learn about a different type from the book.
