I have a few stories in here, but I have to say the art is so wonderful. Love illustrated books! Thanks to all the contributions by authors from the Writers Cooperative of the Pacific Northwest, and especially Roland Trenary for his outstanding illustrations, for making this such a great book!

Although I haven't read a lot of anthologies, I was pleasantly surprised that all 30-some stories in this one were set around the fictional Spirit Lake. This should happen more often, and the fact that it doesn't makes me think it takes a lot of work, which this team did seamlessly. All of the stories were above-average individually, and even better as a whole. There was a narrative to the whole collection that kept me awake in the middle of the night thinking about it. Definitely a keeper. I was hoping to read it around Halloween, but no spookiness was lost because I was late.
