Got it as part of humble bundle so it was very cheap. Finished reading it in 15 minutes. I gave it 4 stars cause it was such an easy read and some of the tips seem cool. Overall though, I do not recommend this book for in-depth drawing knowledge. You probably won't rule at drawing after reading this.
3.5/5 Presented in a creative format. Many great rules and or suggestions for keeping a sketchbook or just for drawing. This book seems ideal for ensuring the experienced as well as the budding artist keep up the habit of drawing regularly so as to develop his or her hand-eye coordination, the practice of interpreting people and places that surround them. It also lists a number of excellent suggestions for year long exercises.
This short little book doesn't teach you anything about drawing and sketching techniques. As advertised, it's full of ideas aimed at someone who wants to get into drawing. I read it, downloaded a drawing app to my iPad, drew the ugliest dolphin ever and enjoyed it a lot. Exactly as advertised.
Cute little book, some simple but thought provoking tips or ideas. Will you ‘rule’ at drawing afterwards, no, but some good prompts. I would recommend a library loan rather than buying as it will take all of 15 minutes to read and finish 😊
