This collection of short comic stories by Amy Mebberson ( Disney Princess Comic Strips , My Little Pony ) includes all-new, original stories and exciting infographics for you to "meet" the princesses featured on the cover: Jasmine, Moana, and Merida!
This is a cute bind up of a bunch of one-shot stories featuring various Disney princesses and their princes, sidekicks, and families. Some of them are just one page, some are a few pages long. Like most collections of short stories, some of the stories are better than others. All of them are set after "Happily Ever After." This is a cute, fun read for all ages, and the illustrations are adorable.
At the beginning there's a section of infographics to "meet the princesses," and this volume features Jasmine, Moana, and Merida. There are 14 stories, featuring in order: Ariel, Rapunzel, Merida, Jasmine, Cinderella, Snow White, Tiana, Mulan, Belle, Merida again, Aurora, Moana, Cinderella again, and Pocahontas. I especially liked "Seeing Stripes," the story about Jasmine and the "kittens," as well as "Catching Currents," where Pocahontas and Nakoma go, er, "fishing." The illustrations and mannerisms of the various characters are so wonderfully done that I can hear their voices in my head when I read the dialogue. An absolute delight!
A digital ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss+ for review. All opinions are unbiased and my own.
I love Merida so this was fun to see more into her life. It was really cool to see more of Jasmine's life too! My story comic panel was when she was training tiger cubs. That was adorable and humorous. Moana's comic panels were kind of a let down. They weren't that interesting as I thought they would be. The book also included a few stories of other princesses that are not on the cover which was cool. Illustrations are great and cute.
