If you enjoy cozy mysteries that have a side of humor along with the usual murder than you will enjoy this book as much as I did. I love the sleuths team in this series. All women and once they start working to narrow down suspects and zero in on the real murderer nothing can stop them. We have Jane Delight along with the Birtwhistle sisters Eleanor and Matilda as our sleuths. I love Mr Crumbles the cat. He's always there when needed and he never fails to save the day.
This time the murderer strikes in the beginning of the book. Readers get almost the entire book to try to solve this mystery. I just couldn't narrow it down this time, so I let the girls do what they do best and that would be identifying the real killer while I, the reader, perched on the edge of my seat flipping pages and chewing my nails, do what I do best and that is to read! And a word of warning! Do not let the age of the Birtwistle sisters fool you because these girls are good sleuths. Now when it's all said and done our Mr. Crumbles jumps on ahead to save the day!
This story is about goats and breeders and show goats and goats that are not show goats😊 But somehow a murderer lurks about behind the scenes when a well known and very successful goat owner is found dead at a goat show. Everyone is a suspect until the Whodunit is found. Who might that be?
I recommend this book to readers of Cozy Mysteries. This book is part of a series and it would be best to read the books in order so that you can follow the characters and story plot easier. This is book four and there are two more books to the series.
I purchased a copy from Amazon. A review wasn't requested. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Speak with Confection is the fourth hilarious story written by Ruth Hartzler in her An Amish Cupcake Cozy Mystery series. The characters are very likeable and add a lot of craziness to this story. But when you add a real crazy goat to the mixture you will be laughing. Matilda and Eleanor are probably the craziest characters I have ever encountered. They have a hidden past but what that is can only come to life in the readers mind.

When Matilda and Eleanore enter their crazy wild goat in a goat competition you know only murder can follow. Now along with their housemate Jane Delight they find themselves as suspects in the murder. Putting on their sleuthing hats they chase down clues to the real murderer. If they don't solve this mystery fast it could possibly expose their past and forever what reason that may be they can't let that happen. This story will leave you scratching your head wondering how these three women continue finding themselves involved in every murder that happens in this town. This is a chuckle worthy story

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response. I have rated this story with four stars for meeting my expectations of a whimsical story for a change of pace.

Congratulations to Ruth Hartzler for writing another story to keep her readers laughing.

Speak with Confection is Book 4 in the Amish Cupcake Cozy Mystery Series

I laughed so HARD! This series keeps getting better and better!

Jane has her own home now still living with her Matilda and Eleanor and of course their cat, Mr. Crumbles.

Matilda and Eleanor are taking one of their "rescue" goats to a goat show . The owner of one of the most prized goats is found murdered and Matilda and Eleanor are the prime suspects.

Jane and the ladies are sleuthing and Jane's romance with Damon is enough for him to be off the case.

The characters are so well developed and so much fun to read. The mystery is well written with a few red herrings. I was flipping the pages until the end.

This can be read as a stand alone mystery, but you will LOVE the first three stories as well.

I really love the Amish recipes that are included, I am excited to try the Amish Funny Cake Pie.

I can't wait for the next book in this hilarious cozy mystery series!!!

Speak With Confection, Book Four

Matilda and Eleanor have entered Gigi the Wild Goat in a goat show. While Gigi is busy making a meal of the Show Judge's beard, someone discovers a dead body. The owner of the multiple times grand champion of the show has been murdered. Matilda and Eleanor seem to be Stirling's only suspects; and Damon has been taken off the case!

Well of course Jane and the ladies have to investigate!

An entertaining tale as we spend a few hours in the company of Hartzler's amusing characters. Unlikely scenarios abound as these intrepid sleuths concoct their suspect list based on motive and opportunity. The Amish Cupcake Mysteries never disappoint and volume four is no exception. A good fun read I enthusiastically recommend!

[Many thanks to the author for the opportunity to read a copy of this book. I was not required to write a review. This is my honest review, the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own. ]

Ruth has done it again! I found myself laughing over the antics of Jane Delight, Matilda, and Eleanor (oh and don't forget Mr. Crumbles) as they settle into their new home. "Freshly" decorated by the elderly ladies, it features ugly furniture (previously in storage and a total surprise to Jane) and a wall of weapons! That was another unexpected surprise for Jane. It also has a large fenced in area for the ladies' very naughty goats. Between goat shows and murder, life is never dull! Fortunately Damon only has eyes for Jane, and at least one thing in her life is going well!
Zany and loveable characters! Unpredictable animals! More unpredictable humans...housemates as a matter of fact. A penchant for snooping and for getting into sticky situations! A whole lot of fun!

3.5 Jane has moved into her new home with eccentric housemates, octogenarians Matilda and Eleanor, and quirky cat, Mr. Crumbles. All is well until Eleanor decides to exhibit one of her wild goats in a local goat show. What starts as a harmless adventure quickly turns into a comedy of errors.
Soon, it's a stampede when the goat show is a disaster, complete with toppled displays and panicked spectators. But the laughter dies down when a body turns up amidst the chaos, and fingers start pointing at the unlikely duo of Matilda and Eleanor. Now Jane finds herself in a race against time, juggling her new life, a mischievous Mr. Crumbles, and a role as amateur sleuth. Can she clear her housemates' names before the real killer strikes again? Jane discovers that life in the countryside is anything but boring. [amazon synopsis]

Jane loves her new home, purchased from her Amish twin sister. The octogenarians are obnoxious busybodies. What did they do previously? No one seems to know and they are not telling. Lots of humorous situations with the wild goats, particularly Gigi. You've never heard of cat defense classes? Mr, Crumbles [soooo annoying] is the only cat in the class of dogs. Great recipes at the end.

Entertaining Story.

Speak With Confection. Culinary Cat Cozy Mystery: Book 4 in An Amish Cupcake Cozy Mystery by Ruth Hartzler.

I received a free copy of this book via author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This series keeps getting better and better. This is book four and it kept me guessing whom the murderer was until the very end.

Since I started reading I was laughing! It's a very entertaining story full of goats and twists and turns in it.
Matilda and Eleanor, Mr Crumbles, Jane and Damon, each one had an interesting part on the story, with well written characters, making the book really entertaining.
As a bonus, it has an Amish recipe included that makes me want to cook!

This is the fourth book in this series and these ladies are laugh out loud entertaining. Jane and her 80 something year old housemates have finally moved into a house and they are off on another adventure. A goat competition!!! Eleanor and Matilda have decided to enter one of their wild rescue goats into a goat competition of otherwise pedigreed, champion goats and poor Jane goes along for the ride. Little did she know that a goat competition would involve murder and lies. So Jane and the ladies are off to solve this murder after Matilda and Eleanor are accused of murdering a woman they met for 5 seconds. A must read and addictive series!!!

Jane Delight is confounded as usual when her elderly housemates decide to enter one of their wild rescue goats into a goat show.

While at the show, a lady who had an argument with Eleanor and Matilda if found dead in one of the offices.

It's the cupcake investigators on the case as the lead detective is looking a little too close into Eleanor and Matilda for their comfort.

A very fun story with developed character and a good bit of hijinks thrown in.

Jane and her friends, the 80+ year old sisters have moved into Jane’s new house. And of course, in the backyard are the wild goats. Matilda and Eleanor decide to show the best behaved? goat in a goat show. Naturally turmoil ensues, but who would suspect there would be a murder. Since Matilda and Eleanor are prime suspects, Jane is on the job.

Another fun foray into solving murder in Amish country. Fun series.

This is another fun book by Ms. Hartzler! Jane and the two quirky sisters move into the new house with the goats. When a woman is murdered at a goat event, the sisters are suspects. Jane has to investigate much to Damon's chagrin. I didn't realize who the murderer was until the end which is odd for me. I'm looking forward to the next book because of the ending!

If you've ever read anything by this author you'll know that sequence in series is somewhat irrelevant. The mystery is good, but it's the fun that reels me in! The characters really are and the investigation is full of goats (not a typo). Of course I loved it!

I had to be sure I had this one downloaded to my kindle while I was in town as I don't use the internet or WiFi at my home. I was so glad that I was able to finish the one book and immediately start the new one. What wonderful twists and turns. Can't wait to read the next...

I appreciate the older generation being the stars of this kooky cozy mystery! A naughty cat and eccentric sleuths round out the humorous daily investigating. There were a few mistakes in editing and a touch of repetition but in all worthy of reading. As always clean but I do wish the author would leave out the romance.
