What if I told you that God's idea of love is different from the worlds? What does it mean to truly love another person?
We constantly receive messages that tell us we should love people based on their worth or their usefulness. But the Bible tells us to love other people because God loves them!
In this fourth Bible study in the Jesus Every Day Devotional Guide series, Love Over All by Candace Cameron Bure, you'll find 25 devotions from God's Word explaining what God's love really is, why we should love others, and examples for how we should love other people. Each passage of Scripture is accompanied by four thought-provoking questions that encourage you to read your bible, grow in your understanding of the kind of love God wants you to have for Him and for others. You'll experience more of who God is, understand His unconditional love for you and others and how He wants you to reflect His love to the people around you.

It pains me to give a negative review because I love Candace Cameron Bure and love that she works so hard to share Jesus. But this was a bad devotional.
The style is a small excerpt of scripture printed for you (appreciated), which is then supposed to spark your thinking on 3 questions, followed by a journal entry prompt.
The questions tread in shallow waters and sometimes cannot be answered by the provided text. I was hoping for something that might challenge me, cause me to reflect / keep God's word and message present in my mind throughout the day, and/or give me a new depth, a new way of interpreting God's word. So it was a big disappointment.
There are a handful of short notes from Candace sprinkled throughout the book, leading me to wonder if she really looked at this at all before signing her name to it.
I then thought that maybe I could razor cut some of the pages out to frame them; pretty photos + God's word... It would serve as art and keep the verses present. But then I took a closer look at the pictures. They're not good. Lots of ugly city shots of buildings and the backs of random people - nothing that would have anything to do with the verses printed and nothing I would want to look twice at, let alone frame and display.
It's made on good quality paper, which is about the only positive thing I can say.
I hate to give a devotional 2 stars, but there was no depth in this Bible study. It seemed to randomly pick a passage and ask a few shallow questions. This may be something to give to a friend who wants to read a quick Bible passage in the morning, but not a study that will really further your knowledge of the word.
I thoroughly enjoyed how this book made me think and what it made me think about. The prompts are simple and it was in approaching this study mindfully that I found personal growth in my relationship with God, myself, and those around me. Grateful my best friend gifted this to me.
