Mirror Mirror
Everything about me is a lie, except that my name is Dean. I don't want to be the person I feel I have to show the world anymore. I'm sick of living a lie. What I want is to be free. Free to love who I want, not who people think I should. When you're not living your life on your own terms, everything suffers. My happiness, personal relationships and even my music. This was the first novel by Renea Porter that I have read and I will be adding more. This is her first M/M Novella and I thought she did a great job.
Dean knew at a young age that he was gay but living in a small town makes it a lot harder for him to be himself so he hides. He does whatever it takes to keep it hidden for everyone. When he went through a tough patch he turned to music by writing lyrics and forming a band. His best friend, parents and band members were the only people that knew about his sexuality. There was actually one other person, someone he meet before heading out on the road the first time, someone that saw through him and had some fun with, it was his first time with a man. He didn't even know his last name but would remember him.
After being on the road for six years Dean was ready to settle down and rest. He needed it. He was tired and lonely and did not want to hide anymore but felt he had to for his career and the band's. His songwriting was not just now flowing anymore. When the manager decided to bring in a songwriter to work with Dean, he was not too thrilled especially since he had to go home first. But when he saw familiar blue eyes looking at him when he met the songwriter he was shocked. Happy and very confused since the spark was still here.
Ayden never forgot Dean. He didn't know his name but he knew that spark. His life wasn't easy but writing was helping and now he will be on the road with Dean. He knew there was something there but it was complicated.
Ayden and Dean had to work together so Dean did not want to mess that up. He tried his best to stay professional with Ayden but he was always there and he did not hold his feelings back like Dean. Can Ayden get Dean to admit his feelings? Will Dean stopping living a lie?
I thought Dean and Ayden were awesome. I love country music and of course Cowboys! They worked great together and Their connection was sweet and sexy.
This novella was a fast read but had so much story to it.

This was the first novel by Renea Porter that I have read and everyone knows I love a good m/m novella! This was a sweet story about Dean who's in the public eye and hiding who he is. That is until he meets Ayden. They become working partners writing songs together and the sparks fly. Dean doesn't want to hide who he is anymore and Ayden can't stay away from him. I love the country music aspect and the connection that Dean and Ayden have!

I was asked by the author to read this so I had no idea what to expect. I loved it. Mirror Mirror is amazing and shows the struggle very well for Dean. I enjoyed reading this book. This is the second book I've read by this author, but Renea Porter may just become yet another author I follow. I look forward to her next book.

How can you live with yourself if you know your living a lie. Dean has for so long. He just wants a chance at love & being himself. When he meets Ayden years ago he finds the chance to. But when they reconnect there's nothing missing the same spark is there but it doesn't come without repercussions

I received an unedited version in return of an honest review. I loved this book. It's the first I have read by this author but will be looking for more from Renea Porter in the future! This is a sweet country m/m rock star romance and I loved Dean and Ayden!
