If you love bear shifters you will love seeing this single family in action.
Victoria seems like a city girl but shows them she can be a country girl too.
Luke is such a multi tasker, not just a single dad.
Even if they seem to go about meeting in an unconventional way it's an awesome story to read in seeing them all come together.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and am still enjoying finding more books to read by this author.

I really enjoyed this romance, I liked both of the main characters, who for reasons of their own decide to use a matchmaking service, never expecting that they may actually find the one they are looking for.
I didn't like Luke's mother or sister much, despite their reasons for not being fully behind Victoria dating Luke, I didn't feel they needed to be so hostile towards her.
I loved the two kids and how easily they took to Victoria, not minding she was not a shifter like them.
There was plenty of chemistry between Luke and Victoria and I enjoyed every minute of them getting to know each other even with the misunderstandings between them.

Jade Alters has written a 5-star book about the troubles that Victoria and Luke have with their relationship. Victoria is tired of having boring dates so she signs up with a dating agency. After she signs up she is told that they found the perfect match for her but he lives in Arkansas. She decides to go for a visit and stay for a while. Luke's mother and sister have set him up with a dating agency and he decides to go to the appointment and see what happens. Victoria gets to Pine River and is at the Apple Pie Diner and has just gotten her order when she smells smoke and 2 waiters tell everyone to "Get Out!" "Go!" "Run!" Victoria just goes to the patio, she sees a fireman coming and thinks that he is nice looking. Luke has been told that a match has been found for him and when the date has been set up for and where. He has taken off work early and as soon as he pulls into his driveway his phone rings, it is one of the waitresses from the diner telling him about the fire. Luke is the first one there and he gets the fire out, gets the owner taken care of and then goes to talk to the staff. He notices there is a woman out on the patio that looks out of place so he goes and says "Hello" and tells her he is Luke Thomas. She returns the Hello and said she was Victoria Bentley. They talk for a few minutes and Luke told her that it was nice to meet her and if she needed anything to give him a call. She said she would. Victoria is sitting at the table in the restaurant waiting for her date. Luke walks into the restaurant and he sees Victoria, he doesn't think he can sit and watch her with someone else. He gives the hostess his name and tells her he is meeting someone and what table they have. The hostess leads him towards Victoria. As soon as he is seated he asks "Your my date?" then he tells her that he was glad because he was thinking about calling to cancel and looking her up. They are so attracted to each other but there is a problem, Luke is a bear shifter and he doesn't tell Victoria just yet. Things go well for them and they start seeing each other. Luke asks Victoria if she wants to meet his 2 kids, Beth and Adam? She tells him yes. Things go well for them and Victoria gets along well with the kids. The ones she doesn't get along well with are the rest of his family. Somehow someone has hacked into Victoria's company and now is blackmailing her for money. Every time they send her an email the amout of the money goes up. On top of this, she has been thinking about things between her and Luke and how his family doesn't like her. Luke comes by to see her and she tells him that she has to go back to New York and that she thinks they need a break. She tells him that she can't come between him and his family. He thinks that she is breaking up with him and he gets mad and leaves. After he thinks about things for a while he sees what she is doing and goes back to her house to talk. They end up working things out and she asks "if he and the kids would like to go to New York with her?" He tells her yes. They start to go to her bedroom and she tells him that she is going to check her email and he heard a gasp from her. He walks up to her and asks what is wrong. She tells him what has been going on and he tells her to follow him. They go into her bedroom and he tells her he knows of someone who could help her with finding out who is doing this to her. Luke and Victoria are out for a hike and there is a little landslide and Victoria is stuck in the water with a bolder holding her down. Luke can't move it in his human form and he decides to tell Victoria about him being a bear shifter. She doesn't believe him at first, then he changes and moves the bolder off her. To say the least, she is shocked by what just happened when Luke gets her to her house things do not go well for him and them and they end up in an argument. He said something about her not trusting him with the hacker, she said that was different than what just happened, she tells him that he did not trust her with that part of his life. After this, he walks out. Luke gets a call from his friend that was looking into the hackers and was told where they were. Plans were made for Luke to go and take care of them so that Victoria would be safe.
Can Victoria get past Luke being a shifter and get back with him?

This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

‘Single Dad Matchmate‘ is an intriguing romance between a bear shifter, Luke, and a human, Victoria – although the heat is high, and the chemistry sizzling these two are holding back vital information which could end what is beginning to look like a perfect match.
Luke has been doing just fine as a single dad, he’s got a full workload, tons of interfering family around, and two great kids who are his world… beyond that just isn’t important. Until his kids ask for a mom. Yeah, not something you just go shopping for, right? But with a meeting with a matchmaker Luke’s future just might have hit a bright spot – unless his family and those secrets destroy everything.
Victoria is a successful web designer, yet in the personal parts of her life, she’s batting zero. She wants an alpha man, and she’s not finding him in New York City. After one final disastrous first date, Victoria resorts to a matchmaker and is given a bit of a surprise when her match sends her back home, and perhaps an entirely new phase of her life.
‘Single Dad Matchmate‘ is full of sizzling chemistry, a dangerous situation, a family that might mean well but only gets in the way, and two people who are hiding important parts of themselves as they are falling in love. Luke’s family, particularly his mother and sister were the least liked people I met in this story – in fact, their actions infuriated me so much that there were times when the Kindle was in danger of being tossed across the room.
I liked Luke and Victoria individually and as a couple, yet the information they were both holding back from the other was vital to any budding romance and especially one involving blackmail, hackers, shifters, and secrets that should have seen the light of day long before they were. I understood their reasons, but not Luke’s family’s actions. I adored the kids, they are the brightest spot of this story.
There is conflict, danger, and sizzling attraction in ‘Single Dad Matchmate‘ and it all comes together as one story that will draw you in and keep you there until the ending.

This book is absolutely amazing! Victoria and Luke meet when they sign up with a matchmaker. Victoria currently lives in New York City and has her own web design firm. Luke is the sherriff of Pine River, Arkansas and it's his mother who signs him up. When the matchmaker puts the two together, Victoria decides she'll take the chance and go and take a much needed break. Having grown up in Arkansas, she is content with the southern small town way of life. She meets Luke when he arrives to fight a fire at the diner where she's eating and she is immediately taken with him. He feels the same way. Their date is already set up but they don't know their meeting each other and both consider canceling their date. When he arrives at the restaurant to find that Victoria is his date, both he and his inner bear are thrilled. The two hit it off right away and soon are seeing each other every chance they get. Even his kids love her when they meet her. But there is trouble ahead. His family is rude to her and her business is under attack by a hacker threatening to expose her client list if she doesn't pay. She needs a break and is heading back to New York. She invites Luke and the kids and they are thrilled to go. While there, Luke finds out about her hacker and contacts a friend from his military days to help. Back in Arkansas, things are going well until they are on a hike together and Victoria gets trapped by a boulder. Luke has to tell her he's a bear shifter and she doesn't take it very well. They argue and he leaves. A call from his friend telling Luke where the hackers are sends him to Brazil to deal with it for Victoria. When she finds he's gone, she goes looking for him and ends up at his sister's house. The two come to a tentative peace agreement and Victoria texts Luke to tell him to be safe and she loves him. He goes straight to her house when he returns where he finds out that she's pregnant and he's over the moon! Soon, Luke and his kids are proposing and their lives all move forward to their happily ever after.

Luke and Victoria were looking for a good match, maybe even a great match. They needed, wanted, that special someone to fill an empty space in their hearts and lives that work, friends, and family just couldn’t. For Luke, it was someone who could be his life and heart mate, as well as a mom to his children. For Victoria, it was someone she could share a genuine connection, someone who was more than his job and his business connections.
A matchmaker brought them together but it would take more than her to keep them together.
I liked Luke’s kids. They were innocent rugrats wanting a complete family, and the reason why Luke even said yes to a matchmaker. They were the lights in Luke’s life, and they took to Victoria like they knew she was theirs all along. But kids are intuitive like that, often times getting an accurate sense of people before adults do. Of course, them being shifters might’ve also had something to do with it.
And being a shifter almost cost Luke everything.
Despite the instant attraction, the desire and need to have something more between each other, the secrets Victoria and Luke kept almost brought their relationship to a premature end. Well, that and Luke’s speciest family. His mom and sister were just wow! Even if they’d spilled their secrets early on, I wonder if their relationship would’ve survived his family’s unwarranted contempt.
Despite the length of this book, it covers a lot of ground. A. Lot. From first meeting to first date, from first kiss to first night together, from meet the kids to meet the family, from first argument to first I love you. It doesn’t just cover a lot of plot, it covers a lot of emotions too.
This is a good story, a good first story for me by Ms. Alters. I like her voice and her writing style. Luke and Victoria were looking for a connection and they found it in the most unexpected of ways that led to a love that took them by surprise and gave them the life they deserved.

Surprise, surprise, they find they are each other's date. Things are fantastic. Chemistry is off the charts and they enjoy the same things. However, Ben's family are jerks and treat her terribly. I hated how his mother and sister basically told Victoria she wasn't wanted and would never be accepted.
Besides dealing with Ben's kin, her business is being attacked. Hackers are threatening her clients and she doesn't know what to do. Ben finds out and uses some of his military connections to find out who and where the threat was coming from.
This was really sweet and upbeat. These two were perfect for each other, Victoria and his kids got along wonderfully and his mother and sister threatened that. I am so glad that they decided to figure out things together. There is so much more to this story than outlined here, but to increase your reading pleasure you need to read it for yourself. Luke is a single father, volunteer fireman, sheriff and also a bear shifter. His mother talks him into going to a matchmaking company to try and find a mother for his children. He is lonely, but has a fulfilling life and doesn’t feel he has time for a relationship, but reluctantly agrees.
When Victoria finds out about the match, she is reluctant because he lives in Arkansas. She decides to give it a fair trial, and rents a house there for a month, and runs her business from there. With her competent staff it shouldn’t be a problem. When they meet, there is an instant attraction. She loves him and his children. Luke’s mother and sister, however are not pleased!! They are sure she is going to leave him or else convince him to take the kids to New York City to live. In the mean time, someone has gotten hold of her business files, and is blackmailing her to keep from exposing some of her more influential customers. She doesn’t know what to do but keeps it to herself. Then she finds out Luke is a Bear shifter and is really thrown for a loop!! But together they figure out their problems, Luke finds the hackers and gets the files destroyed, and their relationship is back on, stronger than ever. A great well written story. I loved it!!

Wow loved it
Loved this book Victoria was fed up of dating and signed up to a dating agency and she was matched to Luke. Luke leads a very busy life in the town also with the two kids he has he doesn’t have time for dating his mum sets him up with the dating agency and he is matched to Victoria. There are sparks between them even before they met officially they really hit it off and spend more time together Victoria also meets his children who adore her but the rest of the family are cold to her as the thing not told to Victoria is that they are all shifters. Victoria finds out about Luke bring a shifter when she has an accident and he needs his bear to remove the rock pinning her down. Luke is concerned but when he talks to Lucy after they end up having an argument and he walks out and goes to Brazil as the hackers who have been targeting Victoria’s company have been located. Once Luke has gone and Victoria has calmed down she wants him back but can’t find him and he’s not answering his phone Victoria finds out he has gone to Brazil and she knows why. When Luke gets back he goes straight to Victoria but when he sees her she looks really ill but he finds out he is going to be a father again he is happy and wants to build a life for the four of them so his two children and himself all propose to Victoria and so starts the rest of their lives together

He is a single dad of 2 and has a large extended family. He has dated some, but his ex did a number on him and his family. His kids want a mom. Luke's mom encourages him to sign up with a matchmaker.
When Luke and Victoria first meet they can't take their eyes off of each other. When they meet again for their first date, they know they have meet someone special. They more time they spend together the better things get.
Meeting his kids went great. Meeting the rest of the family, not so well, and it only gets worse. Victoria is falling hard for Luke, if feels like the whole town doesn't want them together. Victoria doesn't want to come between Luke and his family.
Corporate blackmail and learning Luke's secret threaten to pull them apart for good.
Fast paced, sweet and steamy single dad romance. Loved Luke and Victoria. A nice epilogue to wrap up their story.

Victoria is human, but is sick of going out with men who just didn’t know how to treat a woman, she wanted an alpha male who wasn’t afraid of speaking out or exerting himself or putting her first. She decided to go to a dating agency to find the right kind of man for her.
Luke was a bear shifter, but he was also the sheriff in his town, as well as a volunteer firefighter and at times an agent in the special forces where the government needed his special brand of help. His ex wife left him and his two children and had no contact with them at all. His children kept asking him to find a mother for them as well as his mother constantly nagging him to find someone. So she talked to her friend who ran a dating agency.
Now they have a date together, and they both are instantly attracted to each other. Things heat up quickly but they find obstacles to building a relationship. These have to be addressed first before they find their happiness together. Problems are resolved and they eventually have their happily ever after together.

This started out really good. I liked the pace of the story and the attraction of Victoria and Lucas. I like that as a wave to most shifter romances they met in a diner in a quiet wooded town. Nice touch!
They both joined a matchmaking service. Played way too much. Met and dated for a month. She was able to run her business remotely.....never had to meet clients? Hmmmm. They loved outdoorsey things and got along well. The sexual appeal was on fire. Both started to developer feelings for each other. This felt good to both....felt right!
He started to worry about how she would react to he and his children being bear shifters. Well, she finally met the kids and I am beginning to think this was a jewel.......then at around pages 85 to 100 it happened....to save her he was forced to shift to his bear to push a bolder out of the way the she was trapped under. And she....accepted it. I would have run and when I finely accepted what I saw I would have kept him up all night talking.
His family hated her because she was not a shifter and guess what...it zipped up and resolved...this book was about 125 pages too short!

This is not the usual (rich) single daddy book that we see so many of.
It is refreshing that in this story it is the female lead who is the Millionaire CEO, unable to find love among her friends and acquaintances in the Big Apple.
She puts her faith in a Matchmaking company who matches her with a Sherrif in rural Arkansas.
Little does she know that the gorgeous Firefighter she meets on her way to her first date is also the Sherrif.
Their chemistry is immediate and a beautiful romance blossoms.
That is until she is introduced to his extended family. There is hurt and obstacles to overcome, not least that her dream man is a shifter.
If you are an empathetic reader, keep some tissues ready. Otherwise, this is a lovely book to curl up with, that has enough drama to keep you engrossed and of course, gives the HEA we all desire. This was a lovely story with full, well-rounded characters, with lots of warmth. I read it in one sitting and loved it.

Gotta love a woman who knows what she wants, and goes after him. Victoria could take care of herself financially. She did not need a man for that. She wanted a man, who was smart and not afraid to get his hands dirty. Luke, was the Sheriff of Pine River, Spec Forces, MASK unit, and volunteered as a firefighter. They both went to a matchmaker to find a partner. Victoria went to Arkansas hoping to give her matchmaking date a chance. She and Luke felt a mutual attraction from the beginning. She was about to meet Luke's family when she got the blackmail notice. She and Luke are keeping secrets from each other. He hasn't told her he, his family and relatives are shifters. Will her blackmail situation be resolved? How will she react to the shifter information? Can she live in Arkansas? Will love prevail? Nice story. All the characters are a hoot! This book is kind of short, but very sweet. Victoria lives in NYC and is a successful businesswoman, but she is tired of dating men who are boring and more interested in their phone than her. She signs up with a matchmaker asking for an Alpha male who knows how to do household repairs and such. She basically wants a real man. Luke is a bear shifter with two kids who lives in a small town in Arkansas. He is the local sheriff, a volunteer firefighter, and his whole family lives nearby. His ex was a bear shifter but as she deserted him and their children he has no problem dating a human. Victoria, of course, has no idea he is a shifter. It doesn't sound like these two have anything in common. You'd be surprised.

This is a delightfully, sweet bear shifter romance & I really enjoyed reading it. The characters are unique, well-developed & interesting with a variety of traits and different sides to their personality & have individual expectations. I found the plot quite intriguing with some unexpected situations.

Lucas is the town sheriff, volunteer firefighter and if that isn't enough to keep him busy he also helps out the military on missions when needed. He is an alpha male in need of a mate and mother for his two children. He signs up with a matching making service. Victoria is looking for a man to share her life with, a rugged alpha male. Victoria is having no luck on her own so she signs up with a matching making service as well. Lucas and Victoria are matched but they run across each other before their date. Sparks are flying but Lucas has a secret that might end the spark. Lucas is a bear shifter and most human don't take that news very well. There is also personal and professional issues that cause issues for the two, will they be able to work it out or will they end it. Loved this book, this is a must read.

The author has pulled us into the lives of the characters and there is no place we would rather be. Victoria is fed up with dating the same type of man over and over. Luke, divorced father of two, realizes that there is more to life than his busy schedule and extended family. They each pay a matchmaker and are set up with each other. Can a shifter in Arkansas and a human business owner in New York ever find common ground?

Take one lady, fed up with the lame men and needing an alpha male, add in an alpha male father with an interfering mother and sister, add in some romance and drama and you get a fabulous tale from Jade Alters!! This is a well written story with interesting people in abundance and good drama to boot. Some dynamics that make relationships ebb and flow and an enjoyable time is spent reading all this!

Luke and Victoria have a rough start to their relationship. They both have strong personalities and flaring tempers. Victoria and Luke both used a dating service albeit Luke did it a bit reluctantly, his mother signed him up. Luke’s family was very invested in his life and caused problems with him and Victoria.. Luke’s children absolutely loved her and somehow they all make it work. This was a quick easy read and I enjoyed every word!

Luke and Victoria meet through a dating agency and they couldn't have picked a better couple. Prior to actually meeting at the date, they meet when Luke went to the restaurant to put out the fire. Through the start of the relationship his family gave her so much resentment and they wouldn't let up. With them realizing they were in love with each other Victoria had to come to terms with Luke being a bear. All in all, all four of them got the HEA.

Now these two are off the charts chemistry. But outside forces are trying to keep them You'll love the storyline and characters. apart. Will They be kept apart? or will they defeat their obstacles? This is a lovely sweet story that I ended up reading in one go & couldn't keep the smile off my face. Victoria & Luke were perfect for each other but even though his children Beth & Adam adored her as much as she did them the rest of his family were not so welcoming. There were some secrets that needed to come out & be resolved before they could consider a happy ever after with their little family.

As the story progresses a connection is made before they meet, obstacles are thrown in their path, and resolving the issues may not give them a happy ending. Jade Alters’ Single Dad Matchmate is a nice single dad romance read with a paranormal/military/technology understory.
