He conquers her, body and soul. Makarios of Kronos is a rebel, a smuggler who reports to no one, not even those on Rogue 5. But one betrayal sends him to a Coalition brig, and to a fate worse than death—capture by the Hive. He escapes but exchanges one prison for another. He now lives on the Colony, contaminated and deemed a risk. He'll do anything to regain his freedom, including agree to a bargain with a beautiful, cunning warrior with secrets of her own.
Gwendolyn Fernandez volunteered to defend Earth from the Hive menace. For four years, she was a valued member of Coalition ReCon, until the Hive caught up with her, and a strange Nexus creature took special interest in her integration.
Gwen escaped with super-human strength and a will to live that cannot be broken, until the governor of the Colony demands she choose a mate. A bargain with Makarios seems so simple until he conquers her in a way no other has—body and soul—yet the Hive Nexus who wanted her for himself won't take no for an answer.
Really enjoyed "Rogue Cyborg" for some reason I could have sworn I had already read this author before; my bad, I so haven't weird that as I was convinced I had mmm strange one that.
Well anyway, nope this is definitely a new author for me but one I would definitely read again. This was book 6 in the Interstellar Brides series but I read it as a standalone and had no issues following along with the current storyline. Everything is fairly self-explanatory here and it was really easy to get lost in this rich well-developed sci-fi story. I do so love me a good alien romance and "Rogue Cyborg" delivered in spades. It was fast paced well imagined and super sexy. I adored both Mak and Gwen they made such a fabulous couple and I was rooting for them all the way here. This was told in dual POV my favourite and was so smokin hot I needed a bucket of the cold stuff to extinguish the burn. This had a great secondary cast and if you have read the previous books in this series prepare to get re-acquainted to some past staring players. All in all, this was a fun read that totally captured my imagination and If you like a bit of the old Sci-Fi romance like myself then this one will probably be your flavour. This gets a definite seal of approval from moi. Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of "Rogue Cyborg" which I have reviewed voluntary. All opinions are entirely my own.
While this book is part of a series, it reads well as a stand-alone. The Interstellar Brides program was designed to match up mates from Earth to Alien on various planets. But, Gwendolyn wasn’t an Interstellar matched bride, she was a warrior from Earth, and was captured, tortured and transformed by the Hive. She can never return to Earth, and now she has been grounded by the Governor, Maxim Rone, but given an option of an out, select a mate. This will be the story of Makarios and Gwen.
Makarios Kronos of Rogue 5 was captured by the coalition, held captive when the Hive took over the ship, and he fell into their hands. Wrong place, wrong time, and now he was in a different type of prison, one where there is no freedom as he had once known.
“When I looked into his eyes, I didn’t see a criminal. I saw a restlessness and rage I understood all too well. We were the same, me and Makarios. Trapped. Prisoners. Freaks.”
The plot will have Gwen needing to release some of the anger and rage she was feeling because of being grounded, not allowed to go on missions, she can never return to earth. Then to learn that in the fighting pit aliens were in a battle to claim her—as if she were a prize to be won.
“He issued a tournament challenge. They’re in the fighting pit right now deciding who gets to claim you. This wasn’t about me. This was about them. Who’s the biggest? The strongest? Who had muscles on muscles and the audacity to tell me who I had to give my body to?”
When Maxim Rone steps in, he will give Gwen an ultimatum with a caveat, select a mate and you can once again return to missions, but if you don’t select one yourself, one will be selected for you. Too much disruption because of one single available woman, and it must come to an end. When Gwen makes her choice of Makrois, there is much shock, but she believes they can enjoy each other like a one-night hookup and then go on their way.
“All over the black-haired temptress who had chosen a monster as her mate. The other males here were far more honorable than I. More deserving. I didn’t deny it. I was a smuggler by trade, a pirate by choice. I chose my battles and my loyalties. And I was no Coalition. I shouldn’t even be here.”
“The female was contrary, feisty and ridiculously independent. She didn’t need anyone’s protection, and she’d proven that by the way, she’d tossed the Prillion around as if they were a pebble, not a seven-foot giant. And I wanted all that energy, that fire, focused squarely on me.”
“I’d forced him into this. He was hot and ready. I should be thrilled. A no-strings-attached kind of deal. One night and then we’d both get what we wanted. I just had to wonder, when it came to f***ing Mak, would one night be enough?”
Both Mak and Gwen had secretly lusted after each other, but she hadn’t planned to be mated, and he believed to keep a female safe, he should never mate. He isn’t Atlan, and he has no desire to hurt a female but, when they get together, it is an unique erotic chemistry.
Once Gwen is allowed to return on missions she will be going after the Hive again. She has kept certain secrets from the doctors about some of her abilities. Now, she plans on retaliating against the Hive by using what they made her be. What she hadn’t counted on was the Mak would refuse to allow her to go on the mission without him. She had a deal with him, she would help him secure a spacecraft so he could leave, and now he plans to go with her on this mission, which wasn’t in the deal.
Once again, the battle against the Hive will take out key elements to make life better for those on the Colony. Even a traitor will get his comeuppance. But what will come of Gwen and Mak? He refuses to claim her properly, his claiming bite is venomous, and he refuses to kill her. But what if she has a plan? Will he be able to claim her and she truly becomes his mate?
“I might not die from the bite, but I may die from pleasure.”
“Be quiet, female. I know the human word—love. But that is not what I feel for you. That word means nothing, mate. I live and die to please you, to protect you, to ensure your happiness. Your pain is my agony. I am yours, Gwendolyn of Earth. Yours. I give myself to you, pledge myself to you and only you. I will never leave your side.”
Rogue Cyborg is the sixth book in the Interstellar Bride: The Colony Series, and while it can stand alone, it’s best understood reading the previous books. Gwen is unique, and not just because of her Hive implants - she’s an unmated female living on the Colony! When the Governor gives her an ultimatum of no more missions unless she picks a mate, she chooses Mak from Rogue 5. Knowing they both crave freedom, they strike a deal to both get what they need, but after a night together, can they give each other up? When more is revealed about Gwen, will the Nexus consume her, the Intelligence Core use her, or will Mak and Gwen fight for their freedom and love?
Holy crap! I don’t know how Ms. Goodwin does it, but every single book that’s released is always better than the last. This book just about broke my heart into a million pieces, just to pick them all back up and mend them together again! Gwen and Mak are amazing! Separately, they are strong, willing to sacrifice everything, and just begging for their freedom, but together? They were stronger, more secure, knew the risks and boundaries of those same sacrifices, and able to open their hearts and souls completely to each other! I loved reading more about Rogue 5 and the Colony, I loved having more insight into these Nexus creatures, and I loved seeing familiar characters. But what I loved most was seeing Gwen and Mak, two caged characters, break free, find acceptance, and just shine and succeed! I was completely blown away by this book, I am completely in love with this book, will recommend it in a heartbeat, and am about to go back and read it again!
I love the concept behind this Interstellar Brides:The Colony series! And the twist in Rogue Cyborg was a nice change of pace!
Gwen is unique in that she's an unmated, human female stuck on the Colony due to the Hive implants in her body. She's independent, fierce, strong minded and strong willed. She's by far NO pushover. She doesn't need a man to "be complete," no way. She's a fighter and she needs to fight the Hive.
Until she's given an ultimatum by the Governor. See her unmated status is wreaking havoc amongst the men on the Colony. The Governor orders Gwen to choose a mate or be grounded from missions. So she does what anyone in her situation would do. She chooses the man who makes her body run hot, but doubts that they'll end up permanently together.
Maks is on the Colony only because he was captured and then taken prisoner by the Hive. He's desperate to gain his freedom again. And just as desperate to make Gwen his.
Can they figure out a way to get what they both want? Even if they're both doubting the deal they struck after a night of hot and heavy, and amazing sex?
Holy hell. The connection between Maks and Gwen nearly combusted my Kindle. I loved how their romance unfolded. And I loved the big reveal!! They both were willing to take such amazing risks--with their hearts and their lives.
This series is fascinating. I love the sci-fi components and I'm so damn curious as to what's going to happen next! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of my favorites of the series. Both Mak and Gwen were perfect for each other and when they both realized they wanted each other *chef’s kiss*
Suspense and action will keep you glued from start to finish in this fabulous love story!! Two people that are cast offs from their people find true love and a life time of travel together!! Go grab this book and enjoy this fabulous ride!!
If you are reading this series, along with all the spinoffs, in chronological order, I recommend reading this AFTER book 5 of the cyborg series and BEFORE 15 of the interstellar bride series.
The Interstellar Brides series takes place at a time where aliens are real and there are several different planets and species. There is a galactic enemy known as the hive, which is a technological species that invades planets and either kills its inhabitants or transforms their captives into one of them. A coalition was formed between the planets who are at war with the hive. Each member of the coalition is required to supply soldiers and brides to the cause. Soldiers to fight the hive, and brides to repopulate the diminished that have fallen victim to the war. There is a neurological test that a bride takes to me matched to their perfect alien planet, then their perfect alien match on that planet, through a series of sexual desires that only our subconscious can answer for. Earth allows for volunteers to apply to the program, or grants female criminals the option to become a bride over a prison sentence. Those who volunteer are paid a healthy sum of money, and those who are prisoners are given clean slates. All applicants are required to give up their Earth citizenship to become a resident of their new chosen planet. A bride has 30 days to accept or reject their match. If they accept their claim, they are mated to their new alien husband for the rest of their lives where they are expected to make babies. If they reject their mate, they are assigned a new one on that same planet. Where they are still expected to make babies. Warden Egara makes continued appearances throughout the series as she is the one who processes the brides in the United States. The Colony Series takes place alongside the interstellar bride series, but focuses solely on the residents of the Colony. The colony houses veterans of war, tainted with Hive technology. They cannot return to their home worlds because of their cyborg hive tech, so they live the remainder of their lives on the colony. Brides can be matched to a soldier living on the colony as they can also test for the matchmaking system like everyone else. As the books progress, more brides specifically request the Colony instead of another coalition planet.
Written in first person, Rogue Cyborg is book 6 in this series and follows the human bride Gwendolyn Fernandez and her alien cyborg Makarios Kronos from the moon base Rogue 5. This book takes place outside the interstellar bride program. Makarios is a rare Hyperion/Forsian crossbreed, raised by the Kronos clan on the moon base Rogue 5. He was captured by hive as a prisoner of the coalition, then rescued and sent to the colony to live out his remaining life. Because of his massive size, he was assumed to be an Atlan with amazing control of his beast. He never made a move on Gwen, even though every fiber of his body ached to do so, because his venom was poisonous. Gwen was a human, who was also captured by the hive and integrated, until she managed to escape. She, too, was sent to live her remaining days on the colony. Gwen chose Mak as her mate after a battle in the fighting pits for the rights to court her, and Governor Max forced her hand. She chose Mak because he was the only one who didn’t show the slightest amount of interest in her, and she knew his true desire was to break free of his prison on the colony. But Gwen was hiding a little secret. Turns out, she was more integrated with hive than anyone knew. She and Mak helped eliminate the hive threat on the colony before stealing a hive ship where they spent their remaining days hunting the Nexus units, that only she could get close to. Oh, and they found an antidote for Mak’s venom so that he could officially claim Gwen in every way.
Hyperion/Forsian bloodline is rare. This particular cross breed is as big as their neighboring Atlans. Like Hyperions, they have fangs with venom that make them desperate to bite during mating. Unfortunately, the Forsian bloodline makes their venom poisonous to anyone they bite, ultimately killing their mate. They also have a mating cock that swells inside, locking them inside their female’s vagina. There are only 3 of these crossbreeds alive.
Spankings take place in every single book (with the exception of book 1 in this series). If any man spanked me, I would probably kill them in their sleep, but I guess some women do enjoy them. Spankings are more of a turn-off than turn-on in my case, so I just ignore those parts of the books like “nope, that didn’t just happen.” I think the hardcore S&M lifestyle is growing on me because this book didn’t bother me as much as the first books in the Bride Series did. Either the author has eased up in her writing, or I’ve become numb to the controlling bondage experience. Either way, I’m all in.
As I’ve read through this series and all its spin offs, I can attest that the plot is incredibly addictive. I am way too invested in each book, in all its adventure and romance.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I have read every book in this universe and even though the Atlans are my favorites (we are introduced to a new Atlan in this book), these colony vets are something special.
Gwen is our first unmated female vet on the Colony that is filled with unmated alpha males who, previously, had no chance at finding a mate. You can just imagine the havoc she was causing even though the males would sooner destroy themselves than hurt or dishonor her. Mak is our first Rogue 5 vet on the Colony and as the Rogues were trying to stay out of the Hive fight, he may be are only). He is from the Kronos Legion on Rogue 5 (we previously met Styx and Blade from the Styx Legion in Her Rogue Mates). He is a very different type Rogue and has preferred to keep to himself, his whole life, until the betrayal. Both Gwen and Mak feel the restrictions placed upon them by being on the Colony and are looking to escape but for different reasons.
Gwen and Mak are the two most unique characters in the Interstellar Bride universe and the author has given them a story that showcases them at their best. With a supporting cast of returning favorites (Maxim, Ryston, Rezzer, Braun, Kiel, Denzel) and new Atlan Bryck to help continue the fight against the Hive incursion on the Colony, we get to get some more action. We are get to see a new "weapon" that will help the Coalition in its battle with the Hive.
I love sci-fi/fantasy books and enjoy story over hot, steamy interludes (of which this book has plenty) and this author and her Interstellar Bride Universe NEVER disappoint. My only complaint is that I read them too quickly but the author is pretty fantastic about releasing a new one almost every month. Now I will sit back and wait for the next book and keep my fingers crossed that it is Braun's or Bryck's story.
Even though these books can be read as standalones, I would highly encourage reading them in order and in groups. The Prillon Prime, Atlan, and Colony stories closely follow the war with the Hive, so if you want to follow what is happening with the war read these books in the order they were published. The Viken, Trion, Everis (Virgins), and Rogue 5 books don't have much to do with the War but they each have planetary situations occurring and should be read in groups by Planet.
Once again we get to take a look at Grace Goodwin's world of strong, alpha males and the women that love them. We're back on the Colony, home to Coalition fighters who have been captured by the Hive and gotten cybernetic parts implanted in them. The Coalition planets won't allow them back, for many reasons, including the fact that the Hive may still be able to control them through their implants. Thus, they are buried deep in safe territory, at the Colony, where the Hive are theoretically unable to get them. Sadly, that's not always true.
Our couple in this book are different to the other characters in some of Grace's books. And it is marvelous.
Gwen is a fighter from Earth. She spent years fighting, but then the Hive captured her. The Nexus who captured her changed her a lot. Now, she's the only unmated woman on the Colony and it's starting to tear the men apart. So, the males (idiots that they are) decide that they are going to have a tournament to decide who will be her mate. Gwen can't be having with that, so she goes to the Pit and she throws around all the males who wanted to try to be her mate. When the governor demands she choose a mate right there and then, she chooses Makarios, a male from Rogue 5. He's a Hyperion and Forsian hybrid.
Mak never planned to choose a mate, because his Hyperion part demands that he bite his mate to claim her, but his Forsian half will make it poisonous to any female he bites. But he wants Gwen, a lot. So when she chooses him to be her mate, he's both happy and upset.
OK, I totally, truly, and deeply love these two. Normally, the Atlans have my love, but Mak is now right up there with Rezzer and his Warlord brothers. It helps that the Atlans adopted him as one of their own. I think that Gwen and Mak are going to be in my top 3 couples for the whole IBP series. She is incredibly strong, physically and emotionally. She knows exactly what she wants. I love that when Mak says she is his, she says no, he is hers. That is incredible. I would love to see more of these guys in their travels.
In this story Grace Goodwin takes us back to the Colony my absolute favorite planet in this series. Filled with warriors shunned from their home worlds after being altered by the Hive they crave a mate, children and a sense of normalcy more than anything. So when a female unmated warrior is sent to base 3 the entire population is in a uproar wanting her. When they decide to fight for the right to be her mate Gwen steps in and shows them what she thinks about that using the strength the Hive gave her to toss a prillion across the room. The Governor however wants this to end and demands she pick a mate or he will pick one for her. The only male she wants is Mak who is struggling with his desire for her in secret he cannot take a mate due to his unique Hyperion / Forsian nature his bite is poison and he refuses to risk her life. Not a coalition fighter Mak is Rouge 5 and wants nothing more that to escape the Colony to get back to his legion and find the traitor who not only got him captured for smuggling by the coalition but also by the Hive. They strike a deal, he can escape and she can go on missions to fight the Hive they will only be together one night. The chemistry between them is off the charts and after one night neither wants the other to go but these two have no idea what fate really has in store for them or the secrets they are keeping from the other. This is definitely one of my favorites in this series I love the stories on the Colony and this is the first where both mates are altered. Gwen and Mak are great characters Gwen is stronger than anyone knows and Mak although technically a criminal is noble at heart and extremely protective of Gwen. I was addicted to this story from start to finish although this took a little longer to release than most of Graces books it's definitely worth the wait.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I absolutely loved this 6th book of the Colony, the Interstellar Brides series. Mak and Gwen make a great match even though it was a bumpy start. Gwen is a human warrior that was caught by the hive and changed aka enhanced by the cybernetic implants that were integrated with her human body. Mak, a Hyperion/Forsian warrior was also caught and had hive cybernetics implanted into his body too. Mak was one of three survivors out of 200, along with Braun and Tane Gwen's were done by the Nexus and he wanted her for himself, so made her practically unbeatable. On the Colony, Gwen was the sole female and it was driving all the single males crazy so they decide to have a contest fighting each available male until the remaining winner gets to claim Gwen. Big mistake! Gwen doesn't want to be claimed so she goes to the pit where the contest is being faught and throws all the big, bad warriors around like toy soldiers. The governor makes her choose her own mate immediately and she chooses Mak, surprisingly, Mak accepts and they make a deal so they could both have their freedom. Sparks fly as the couple find they are really into each other and their chemistry is off the charts. There is much excitement, drama, action, adventure and risks as they battle the hive and fight with their other hive infected cyber warriors but there is also building respect and understanding, and possibly love to be discovered. If only Mak could actually mate with Gwen without killing her. This was THE BEST of the Colony books in my opinion, I have enjoyed each book, but are always followed by my next favorite. I have no idea how Ms. Goodwin will improve on this story but will gladly read the next one knowing she always does one better.
Grace Goodwin - Rogue Cyborg (Interstellar Brides: The Colony Book 6)
Grace Godwin’s Interstellar Bride series books that are based on The Colony are very unique and special. This is where those warriors in the coalition that have been caught and tampered with by The Hive are sent. It serves as both a refuge and a prison. This book is also different as it features an mated female human vet who is causing major havoc among the inmates males. Ready to fight for the right to mate Gwen, the human vet who has major integrations from the Hive, the males don’t take into consideration the feisty independent female who isn’t going to have any of this. She is not a prize but with all the chaos she is causing she is given an ultimatum and must choose a mate or one will be chosen for her. To his immense surprise Gwen chooses Makarios (Mak), a warrior ( Forsian/Hyperion mix) from Rogue 5. The males from Rogue 5 are rebels. Max is no different and Gwen identifies with the hunky alpha male , whom she has also developed a major attraction for. Besides the crazy hot chemistry between the two main characters there is an unbelievable exciting adventure here. A full length book that not only features many awesome characters from previous books in the Colony series it also advances a lot more plot development for the overall series. This was an amazing story that grabbed me from the very beginning featuring a fearless female vet who won’t be deterred from her agenda, not even by a planet full of protective alpha male warriors. Although this is stand alone I highly recommend reading this captivating series.
THE LUST BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS WERE INSANE! IN A GOOD WAY.
MAK is a hybrid abomination of Hyperion and Forsain, and I have to admit his attributes are pretty interesting - a supposed claiming bite that sends a female into instant orgasm and a mating cock that swells until it locks inside a vagina, ensuring the male can pleasure his mate for HOURS? Wow. Death by pleasure is a guarantee. Unfortunately, due to his genetics, Mak's bite can only kill a normal person so he's convinced himself that he doesn't want a mate, and no one can love him anyway. Mak's pretty much what you can expect of a beastly alpha kind of male. If you're a fan of Caveman males, then you'll love him.
GWEN is the force of this story. She's absolutely a ball of pent up energy waiting to explode. Trapped in the colony since she's mate-less and when one is mate-less, one cannot be sent out for missions. She's dying of boredom and her blood pressure is rising from all these dense males who are all so backward thinking. No longer human thanks to the Hive's experiments on her, Gwen's partial cyborg and much more. Unfortunately, Gwen's character type isn't my favourite. She's very headstrong and bossy. She's great, but just not the type of female I like to read about.
OVERALL this was okay for me. It's not insta-love but it definitely is HOT. Plot wise, I guess if you've followed the series then you will know what on Earth is going on. But otherwise, you can pick this up as a standalone, it won't lead you in circles at least.
“Rogue Cyborg” was a stellar read and one of Grace Goodwin’s best so far in Si-Fi the Interstellar Brides: The Colony series! The storyline is unique as far as the other books in the series yet Ms. Goodwin continues to WOW her readers with an engaging and creative story that has a great plot and is smoldering hot. “Rogue Cyborg” book six in the series is a fun, sexy, adventurous, and a dramatic action packed read. Lt. Gwendolyn Fernandez, of the Coalition is the only unmated Earth female Cyborg on The Colony. She is strong, in control, intelligent and has Hive integration secrets she has kept to herself. Makarios Kronos is a half-breed, a ruthless combination of part Hyperion animal and Forsian warrior. Captured by the Hive when he was a prisoner on a Coalition ship he is a smuggler and criminal from Rogue 5. He also has a deadly secret which prevents him from taking a bride/mate. These two come together through a surprising turn of events and their chemistry is undeniable. Together they make an unstoppable team. Their storyline is an awesome and entertaining read filled with twists and turns, plenty of hot sex and action and culminating in a wonderful epilogue. I don’t like to giveaway detailed spoilers. If you are a fan of Grace’s books you will absolutely love this book. I highly recommend this book. Looking forward to Grace’s next book in the series.
I love the Interstellar Brides Series! Rogue Cyborg is book #6. The good news is that these books can be read as standalones and I have not read them in order and I don’t feel like I have missed anything.
Rogue Cyborg is Gwendolyn Fernandez of Earth and Makarios “Mak” Kronos story.
A fight to the death and the winner gets the right to claim Gwendolyn of Earth as his own. She was a soldier before being taken by the Hive. The Hive has made her part Cyborg with Cybernetic implants. The Hive don’t know they made her even stronger than just the warrior that she was. Well, they really do know how strong she is they just don’t know that it will work against them. Gwen doesn’t want to be the spoils go to the winner. The Governor is going to let her choose her own mate.
Mak was born on Rogue 5 and is part Hyperion animal and Forsian Warrior a ruthless and rare combination. He was also changed by The Hive.
Both Mak and Gwen want to leave the Colony. They both know they can't go to their home planets. Gwendolyn of Earth wants to continue to fight the Hive. Mak wants to not be a prisoner any longer and wants away from the Colony.
Rogue Cyborg is a good story as is all of this series. I enjoy being in the made up world of make believe by Grace Goodwin. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I really enjoyed this one! I loved getting to know and see Makarios and Gwen in this one. Gwen is human from Earth but she was captured by the hive and turns out it was one of the Nexus units and they did a lot of work so she is super strong and keeping some secrets but all the men are trying to court her since she is the only single female on the Colony and it is causing some problems. Gwen doesn't want a mate at this point as the only male that she is really drawn to is Makarios and he has shown no real interest in pursuing her. Makarios is a hybrid and it is a rare one that has his bite being poisonous so he has no plans on taking a mate and is biding his time before he can escape/leave the colony and head back out on his rogue lifestyle. Things all come to a head though when the men are in the fighting pits over Gwen and the Governor demands that she pick a mate in order to help ground her and end the issues with the men. She picks Makarios and he doesn't turn her down and they come up with a bargain that is supposed to work for both of them. They have one really great night together and then are out on a mission but both are having feelings though both don't want to push the other and plan to keep up their end of the bargain. Then things happen and some secrets come out and it allows both of them to reach a deeper level and share what they want and why they were holding back. I really loved this one and loved both of their strong personalities and fighter personalities. I love how they support each other for all of what they are and need. I really hope that we get to hear and see more of them somewhere in the series!
Makarios wanted a mate for his own but he knew the price was too high. He just wanted to get off the Colony and fight, to forget about “her.” Gwen wanted off the Colony and to fight the Hive. She was a soldier. But she was grounded till the Governor gave her an idea, pick a mate and she can go back out to fight. She knew the one she truly wanted, Makarios.
I have to say that this is a bit of a different turn. Instead of the IBP picking the mate, we finally have the female being able to pick one and there were a great many too. You have to love the care that Mak was trying to uphold when it came to Gwen. He knew that his half Forsian and half Hyperion could make things deadly. The description of how the mating was to be, WOW! Not a complete mating but still. HOLY MOLY! Hyperion with their fangs and Forsian was, well long thick appendage.
Now the story does get to a point where Gwen and Mak have a plan and Gwen cares out her own. It is heartbreaking in a way. I started crying, knowing what she was doing. Then we have the Nexus, evil and cruel. All they wanted to do was take, wanting to create their own. You have to love the battles that haven been going on in regards to it. But I am glad that Mak and Gwen were finally able to be together. On to the next Colony book.
I really enjoyed this book! It's a great story pack with humor, action, steamy scenes. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down! The characters are well developed and it's nice to see some of the characters from previous book included into this one.
It takes a remarkable writer to make a book accessible to new readers and keep the interest of ''old'' readers (readers who follow the series) Grace definitively haves those skills and I can wait for what's coming next.
PS: If you are a new to this series and want to know more about Caroline and Rezzer's story you can find it in : Her Cyborg Beat- Interstellar brides : the Colony book 4
All the books in the series can be read on their own, but if you are looking for the best reading order you can find the list on the author website. http://gracegoodwin.com/bride-series-...
I'm thankful for the arc copy which gives me a chance to read this book prior its release date. I also purchased the book to support the author and the great work she is doing in keeping a lot of people entertained
Rogue Cyborg is Book 6 in the Interstellar Brides: The Colony and WOW!! This story is so FAR from what one would expect and so different from the other books and is just as amazing!! If, you didn’t know before, you know this now: Grace Goodwin is a Genius! All books are stand alone but reading all the books results in taking part in a wonderful read. The characters from earlier stories are mentioned and have integral parts in all the stories. Gwen was captured by the Hive, escaped and now, is the first unmated female warrior on the Colony which is filled with unmated males. Mak is from the Kronos Legion on Rogue 5. He is a Rogue who has chosen to keep to himself throughout his life until he is captured by the Coalition and then taken by the Hive. Both he and Gwen have been altered by the Hive with cybernetic parts implanted in them. Yes, it just gets more interesting, involved and filled with suspense, mystery, HOT sexy Alphas, sexy romantic scenes and action packed!! Where will it end??? Trying to catch my breath - so much is happening……can they find their way??? Thank you, Grace Goodwin for another wonderful, exciting read.
What a brilliant book and the story line was amazing, I loved Gwen right from the start she is strong, independent and doesn’t need a man to look after her but with that being said she is the only unmated female on the vet colony and it’s becoming a problem for the governor with all the men fighting amougest them selves to claim her but Gwen is not interested in any of them but one and only because he has shown any interest in her. Now the governor is making her choose a mate and she does and shocks everyone fighting in the pit for her, with her choice Makarios Kronos of Rogue 5 he is shocked but happy with her because he has always had a crush on her but can never take a mate because of who he really is that’s why he has stayed away, so want happens now between them, can they make this deal work that they have going on and can they walk away when all is said and done. Read this fantastic book to find out I strongly recommend it.

This story is different from the other books in this series. I have not read them all, to be honest, so you can read them out of order.
Rogue Cyborg has the first unmated female in the series and Gwen is in for a hell of a ride. She is forced to take on a mate. The men are going crazy and there needs to be something done. When Gwen finds out that a bunch of men, is fighting over her, Gwen comes out fighting. By the end, she is forced to pick her own mate.
Mak is that man. He never wanted a mate. He knows he will kill anyone that he tries to mate. So when Gwen announces his name Mak doesn't take it too well. But he will not back down. But he also will not mate her.
These two are the most unlikely mates you can find. Both want off this planet, they need to "mate" to get what they want. But they both find that what they want and what they need just might be the same thing.
I’m very excited this hit my kindle!! The Colony occupants are all in an uproar over an unmated female on the Colony. They are fighting over the privilege to claim Gwendolyn, but she doesn’t want to be claimed. She wants to be free to go on missions and kill the Hive because they are the ones that did this to her. She is banned from going back to Earth because she is more cyborg than human.
Mak doesn’t like being grounded any more than Gwen, he is making plans to escape the Colony. He knows that he is dangerous to a mate and he is not willing to risk a female. The governor gives Gwen the ultimatum of choosing a mate and she chooses Mak, much to his chagrin. He wants Gwen, but it’s safer for her to not be any where near him.
Gwen and Mak make a deal after a lot of “loving”. Then the deal backfires and they catch feelings. They both crave freedom but will they be able to be free shackled to a mate? When secrets come out about Gwen will Mak stand with her and defend her?
Gwen is from Earth, but she is also one strong women thanks to the hive, they have changed her. She is now on the Colony , she isnt allowed to go anywhere. There are males fighting for her down in the Pit, going down there she throws around the males letting them know, she is the stronger one. Unfortunately the Governor steps in (and you will remember him from a previous book) and tells her she has to be mated before been allowed to go and fight again. Looking around at the crowd of men, she spots Makarios. There is something about him that stirs her, she know he is part Hyperion animal and part Forsian Warrior. Mind made up she chooses Makarios, but with Makarios there is one thing he wont do, and thats claim his mate, or she will die.
Once again Grace has produced a stellar book and i have to say i was really pleased with the little twists that the story had to it. Well done Grace thank you once again for a wonderful series.
Gwen and Mak are both trapped by circumstance on the Colony. They both want to escape. They want freedom. An official decree just might remedy that for them both.
Gwen is the only unmated female and has all the warriors in a mating tizzy. They all lust after her. So they devise a contest, winner gets to claim Gwen. The warriors see this as an honorable solution. Gwen thinks it's barbaric. And voices her displeasure.
When she is forced to select a mate, Gwen chooses the one male that stirs her interest. Makarios of Kronos. The male most known for not wanting a mate. Gwen is a soldier and doesn't need a love sick, clingy male.. She just needs to get laid. Like right now.
On the subsequent mission, the past comes back to haunt Gwen as she focuses on taking the Hive once and for all.

How happy I was to get this book as an Advanced Readers Copy, so so so glad to be able to read it even though only a few days prior to release date. But now that I have, I cannot wait for the next book!!!! This story brings finally some completion to previous ones in regard of enemies of the Coalition ... let´s not say more here as you might then not want to read the book yourself. But oh, how fantastic this story is just like all the prior interstellar stories of this author. If i could give out ten stars I really would and I don´t think I have ever even thoguht about that... If you like Sci Fi stories this on is just up your alley. Over and out!!!

There is a mating frenzy going on at the Colony! The center of all this attention? One human female banned to the Colony like all other Hive victims. The problem is, she is unmated and that drives all non-mated warriors crazy. So they decide to fight for the right to court her. Last man standing gets the prize. But she is having none of it. As strong a fighter as the male warriors, she picks her own faforite. And to everyone's surprise he accepts. What seems a union of convenience at first glance, turns out to be a partnership that will change their lives as well as the fate of the Colony.
This story takes us on a different direction as we meet the first female victim of the Hive. The Nexus who captured and changed Gwen in a truly dreadful way and unwittingly opened the door to the final battle between the Hive and the rest of the universe. The relationship between Mark and Gwen was perfection. I loved that Mark did not feel diminished by Gwen as she acted as his superior on the battlefield yet was still the growly possessive alpha male that Ms. Goodwin writes so well. He saw the truth of Gwen - my favourite line was “I see you.” Great story!
