I hope book #2 is in the works because Rachel was still pregnant at the end of the book! OK, OK, let me rewind. Rachel is a hire-a-date for rich boy Lance. This poor girl has the best and worst day of her life all at once. But Lance doesn't run away. Instead he gives her a home and purpose while he experiences his own grief. Even Rachel's awful Bible Thumping mother doesn't drive way-too-pretty-boy Lance away. I rarely root for the alpha-male, they are just the vessel for our heroine's story but I actually really like Lance and had empathy for him. Sorry no spoilers from me. Enter a little kitten that is nicknamed Lucky and stands to be a metaphor for everyone involved in this "love found in unlucky places" story. The Heat level? WOW. I was thinking sweet and clean based on the story line but I was very wrong. Bath fizzies anyone? I'll try to be patient on waiting for number two.

I began reading this book for a fast light read. The topic is far from light. She is the incubator for her brother and his wife. Her mother accuses her of playing God, her brother and sister in law meet misfortune, and Rachel the main female character is tossed into chaos.

Lance, the main male character, is the CEO of a fast-growing security company and the caregiver to his ill mother. His best buddy gets him a (not real) date for a company event and his life is tossed into Rachel's chaos when busybodies overhear part of a conversation.

The author touches on several tough topics in this fast read and covers them well. Happy Ever After and Recommended.
