When 21-year-old college student, Shanecia Jones came home from college, her entire world was turned upside down when she found her mother in the bedroom, nearly dead from a drug overdose. Always eager to be the one to set things right for the people she loved, she decided, against the urgings of her cousin, Maliah, to confront the leader of the new gang in Liberty City who is responsible for serving her mother's addiction. But once she meets Legend, her life really begins to change.
Legend, the unofficial leader of a group of brothers known as the D Boys because of their last name, is not only the youngest of the crew, he is the most savage of them all which is how he got his name. After being confronted by Shanecia, he decided to spare her life and let her leave but, for some reason he can't explain, he is unable to keep her out of his mind and eventually decided he had to make her his. But when he finds out that Shanecia is connected with his enemy in more ways than one, it makes him question how loyal a love they could really have.
Shanecia's cousin, Maliah, is in love with Danny, the father of her children and her first love whom she has been with since high school but there is just one Danny, who was once a highly paid street hustler, is now addicted to the very drugs he'd sold to others and he owes a very large debt to Mello, the head of the crew Danny is apart of, who also happens to be Legend's #1 enemy.
In order to get back the money Danny owes and to take care of her three children, Maliah starts dancing at a strip club which is where she meets Murk, Legend's brother. When she starts to fall for one of the D Boys while still officially in a relationship with Danny who works for the opposing gang, it puts her in the middle of a street war that she is not sure she wants to take part in. Will she side with her heart, that is pointing her towards Murk or will she stick with the first man she's ever loved and help turn him back into the man he once was?
The streets of Miami are savage and ruthless but they are nothing in comparison to what happens when love is thrown into the equation. Will love prevail or will the streets reign supreme over all? Find out in this legendary love story.

Ms. Porscha Sterling has done it YET again. She introduces us to one of the hardest dudes that I've read about in a while. Legend, Murk, Quan, and Dame all brothers and a part of the infamous D-Boys. Their arch nemesis is Mello and he is a pain in their side that has been lingering and festering for much too long. The interesting dynamic is that Legend is the younger brother and he is the unofficial leader that they all look to for instructions and guidance while doing their nefarious deeds. This in no shape or form means that there is anything that is weak or unfit about his other siblings it is just a testament that leaders are born and not made. We are giving a stark eye opening look at just how ruthless Legend can be immediately upon opening the book but what was completely surprising (at least to me), is that he definitely had a heart and nothing showcased this more than when he was unofficially introduced to the woman destined to play the leading lady in his life, Shanecia. Shanecia is a Spelman college student home on summer break and she runs into the rude and enigmatic Legend quite unexpectantly. This opening sequence had me hollering with laughter when he saw her mode of transportation. It also brought back memories of my first "clunker" LOL. With all of the characters whether they were main characters or supporting cast, Ms. Sterling effortlessly painted a portrait that enabled me to envision them down to the very small nuances of their physical descriptions. Ms. Sterling has a gift and is a true storyteller. We are able to see the emotional struggle that Maliah finds herself embroiled in. I could see the emotions that would flit across her face when she thought about her first love Danny and whether she should stay or go for the betterment of herself and her children. I could see how misguided and clueless that Tanecia was in her pursuit of all things materialistic instead of embracing the genuine love that was staring her in the face in the form of Darin. I could hear the guarded anguish in Murk's voice when he described their living conditions growing up in Ft. Lauderdale. I was able to form an attachment to the faithless but fun-loving Quan. All of this was possible because instead of typing words on a page, Ms. Sterling uses a paintbrush to create worlds that immediately engulfs the reader into the drama and life-situations that the characters find themselves facing. This book by far in my opinion is the BEST book that she has put out yet. I am sitting here anxiously plotting how I can harass her into putting out part 2 like YESTERDAY!! I can't say often enough that if you haven't read this yet you don't want to miss out on the literary ride you are sure to experience upon cracking open the pages of King of the Streets Queen of His Heart!!!
I’ve been unproductive as hell today! I started this book at breakfast and by lunchtime I was done. I’m in love with Legend and his ruthless ways and I love how he protects who he loves. Neesy, the all around naive young woman will either get with the program or leave Legend alone but I seriously don’t see that happening anytime soon.
Late with my review but oh well....Murk and Legend are the brothers that have the girls going crazy!! Neesy and LiLi are gonna be turned out and not in a good way so much bouta happen and I know it's gonna leave me speechless! Can't wait for part 2
All I can say was this book was awesome from beginning to end. Can't wait for part 2, praying Shanecia don't get strung out like her momma. I know Legend gone get Mr.Mello and I don't feel sorry for him, now I'm wondering how Maliah going to react when she finds out Danny is still alive. I love Li Li and Murk as a couple. Until book 2
This story was okay. I'm still getting a feel for the characters but there's really nothing that's impressing me so far. There's something missing from this story that would make it better for me but I can't exactly pinpoint what it is at this time. The characters are okay but there are times were their actions were so stupid. I just hope that the story doesn't start throwing characters on top of characters because this is the first book and we've already been introduced to about 16 characters. That's too many!! I don't feel like I'm really getting the time to get to know the characters. Everything is happening so fast that I feel as if I'm not getting time to appreciate and indulge the relationships happening. If I can't connect with the characters or feel something from what I'm reading it's not worth reading. However, I will give the next book a try to see if I enjoy it more than I did this one and whether or not I continue the series will be based on how I feel about the next book. The story wasn't terrible, I just need more.
Ms. Porscha has done it yet again. Wonderful job so far with this one. She introduced us to the infamous D-Boys. The D-Boys are four brothers their names are Legend, Murk, Quan, and Dame. Their arch Enemy is Mello. I can’t wait till Legend puts some paws 🐾 on him. Man, this book was everything and then some. I was hooked on the first page and I couldn’t put it down. I was done in one day. This book will have you on the edge of your seat, screaming out loud. Right off the back, the first page was Drama. You will also get a lot of Surprises with crazy twists and turns. The twist and turn will have you screaming from the top of your lungs. So, grab your glass of wine and sit back and enjoy this series. Part 2 here I come!!!
This book had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down until the end. It started off with action and was so full of surprise with so many twist and turns. The storyline was really good and the suspense kept me waiting to see what happened next.It flowed at a fast yet steady pace and the characters was so very interesting. Loved how the relationship with Legend and Shanecia happened fast, but was meaningful and so interesting. And let's no forget those D-Boys, his brother Murk, Quan and Dame. can't wait to see what unfolds next in PT. 2. Job well done Porscha Sterling.
This book is good. The D boys are definitely some characters, they are funny. I knew Tan was going to get caught in some mess, I don’t know how I feel about just yet. Malian loves hard, needs to take her advise when it comes to Danny. He’s not going to stop getting high until he wants to. I need to know what’s going to happen now that Danny is alive. Now Shanecia is so green, I love her. Im praying she doesn’t get strung out. Legend is going to go crazy behind this, he definitely going to be go with Mello now.
Whew what did we learn from this story is stop letting these men who don’t gaf about you put you in a fkd up situation, Mello definitely know what he was doing from the start, he knew exactly what was going to happen so he sent Tan there Smfh 😒 I’m just just mad she fell for it and now she in a bad situation! I love Legend for nessy, he seems really genuine with her ! Li Li 🙄 she just refuses to move on from dirty ass Danny , I think Murk is good for her but we’ll see if she will actually move on from Danny cracked out ahh
I listened to King of the Streets Queen of his heart on Audible. Every girl wants a bad boy like Legend. Maybe it’s just me and the ladies in this book. Lol. And, Why we always think we all a nigga got. Sometimes it’s time for them not to have us either. Danny may have lost me a long time ago. It cracked me up when Sis said: She said her credit so bad she can’t get nothing in her name but a Facebook page. Anyway I recommend this book and I’m excited for the next book on the series.
Such an awesome fast paced, drama, filled and betrayal filled five-star read. The storyline may seem typical, but the authors wordplay and knack for story telling keeps you grossly engaged and engaged in the drama and the gunplay. The characters and their chemistry can't be missed. I guarantee you want be disappointed.
I had a hard time catching a vibe with these characters. Took me a few days to get past the introductions. Once I did I kind of started to see who each character is. It’s not one of my favorites but I can’t wait to see what’s to come
A great five star read with an attention grabbing storyline and good character development. This five star read is a love story filled with drama and unexpected twists. I recommend to all who enjoy these hood love dramas. Look forward to reading more from this author.
I loved it. Man legend and his brothers are so funny. The book kept me interested from beginning to end. The writing was also great. The only thing i don't like is that the book ends at 70% , the rest is just excerpts from other books
This book was to good every page you got something else. Shanecia shouldn’t have went to her mom house without legend with everything that was going on and he should of had someone watching her also just dumb
Did Tan set up her own sister? How would Mello know Neesy was going to her mom’s house. Danny’s not dead, WTH!!! I need Legend to hurry up and end the Mello dude. Can’t wait to read the rest of this series. Thanks again for another great read
Everybody telling half the story to one another where's the love . Li Li is my girl im rooting for her I see shes going to have a rough road can't wait to dive more into her journey. I knew danny would be a damn issue !!
**Audiobook Review** I really enjoyed this story. The narrators did a good job. The storyline was interesting and I love the characters. Murk is my favorite so far. Looking forward to the next book.
Let me start by saying shanecia and mailiah mother not worth shit .why would she set her up like thin her sister is just as crazy I hope she make it omg it’s so much
I started reading this but quickly switched over to listening to it on audible so I could listen at work. I love these characters and the story line is so good. I couldn't wait to listen to the 2nd book. I will have to finish up by reading them because the last 2 are not on audible. However, Legend & Murk are crazy..lol Li Li is a mess and Neesy needs to open her eyes. I enjoyed listening to this book.
That boy Legend is something else, and his brothers they just demand attention and they gets it!!! Tan is going to be mad at Legend when she finds out her sister is dead
