Bisa dibilang ini koleksi yang paling berharga. Tidak saja memuat kisah keluarga March tapi juga menceritakan banyak hal terkait kisah. Semacam ensiklopedi. Jadi selain mendapat hiburan juga mendapatkan ilmu.

Keren!

This was a really well-done, informative, simplified retelling of Little Women. We loved the illustrations and the factoids and explanations.

While I do enjoy how DK breaks down all the tidbits and historical facts, I hated that this book only covers half of Little Women. So much more happens!

Little Women
Fiction: historical Civil War, classic
Alcott, Louisa May. Little Women. Illus by Chris Molan. DK Publishing, Inc., 1999, 64, secondary.
In Little Women, the classic story set during the Civil War goes through the life of four sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy as well as their family by starting with when their father went away for work and finally ending with the girls getting married and everyone being happy. The author writes in third person but at moments she focuses on tales from each of the girl’s views. The use of the narration creates a style that is graceful because of the time period with a matter of fact tone; this allows the reader to have an understanding of life during the Civil War.
Activity: Prior or post reading go into detail with students of what the role of women was during the Civil War verse the role of men.

Esta é uma versão bastante resumida do primeiro volume de Mulherzinhas, de Louisa May Alcott. Creio ser excelente para introduzir esta obra a crianças. As ilustrações são muito bonitas e as pequenas notas de informação extra são bastante educativas.

This is a lovely DK edition of the beloved classic story of Little Women. It is beautifully illustrated and gives snipets of Louisa Alcott's life, the events surrounding the story (The Civil War) and information about life in 19th Century America. This is a must have edition for any home library.
