This book took me on a fantastic voyage. The way I screamed and hollered was ridiculous. I hate certain parts of the story, but it was good nonetheless. Just read the damn book.
Wow just wow. This book my first read by this author and I will say you did your thing. I'm in love with all characters except Elijah and yolanda. They both got what they deserved. Sorry that the brother died instead of E. Beginning to end, I was hooked. From homelessness to riches. Girl you did your thing. Great job. Just a beautiful story. Happy at the ending too.
This was my first read by the author and I have to say that there were hills and valleys between the despair and horrible life experiences of Jade and Mia. When the met Noah and Keyon, life for them changed for the better until a very traumatic event. The rebuild of self for Jade and her ability to forgive herself was crucial.
I absolutely loved this story. Of course I cried off and on. These two women were so strong and the friendship was everything. They had each other’s back. Noah and Jade were smitten from the beginning. Hated that someone had to die but loved how a relationship/love came to be afterwards. Kenyon and Mia were friendship goals. I needs a update. This was my first book from writer and oh my will not be my last. Great job.
I absolutely love Jade and Mia’s relationship. Best friends at first site. They went through so much together. Noah, Roman and Kenyon were all such amazing men. Just the love they all had for one another. I strongly dislike Yolanda and Elijah. They are horrible people and they got what they deserved.
A good read that is well written with a steady flow. The story has well developed characters, drama, secrets and a crazy sx. I enjoyed every page and loved the main characters.
I chose this rating for this book, because it's totally different from what I'm use to reading from this Author. I loved the way she developed each character and they each had a voice. Don't want to give out any spoilers, but I will say is what goes around comes around, and Love has no names on it!!
I loved this book from beginning to the end!! Elijah was a beast and he got exactly what he deserved and Yolanda as well. I hate Roman had to die. Mia was really into him but I’m glad her n Kenyon became lovers. I’m so happy for Noah and Jade because they were meant for each other. I love happy endings and u did that in this book.
The story was a sad tale about how powerful people think they are above the law. Although the story was about abuse, it was also about friendships, finding love, family, along with a very happy ending.
Very first read of hers, and I loved it. Tremendously. Ms. Alexander is an exceptional story teller, sucking me in with her descriptive writing. Mia and Jade, aka 'Mouse', lol, had the most loyal whirlwind friendship I think I've ever read about. The way the clicked from the very first second and maintained the loyalty for each other on those streets...*swipes tear*...baby, homelessness ain't no joke. I was very emotional a lot time while reading because they were so STRONG. My goodness were they. Noah and Jade were the cutest thing ever <3 I loved the build-up of their relationship. Mia and Ro were cute too, but it's sad they had to end that way...the shift in the book tore me up. I was so angry, Elijah deserved that! Not Ro...I was in here having a FIT. And to think Yolanda's cray cray self was the reason for it all. JUST WHY STUPID???? That man did not want youuuuu. Noah's mother, and him were so loving and good hearted. They didn't blame Jade, even though she felt it was her fault. There's more I want to say, but I'll just end it here. Cyn did that.

This was engaging and entertaining. The characters were fun to get to know and the story is deep and nail biting. I enjoyed it and think you will as well
OMG, THIS BOOK DESERVE MORE THEN 5 STARS. CYN, THIS WAS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I EVER READ. THIS BOOK HAD ME CRYING BECAUSE JADE & MIA WENT THROUGH HELL BUT EVEN IN THE MIST OF IT ALL, THEY NEVER LOST THEIR FAITH. THIS IS A MUST READ. GOD WILL TAKE YOU THROUGH THINGS AND BRING U OUT EVEN STRONGER. CYN, YOU GOT TALENT AND MY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU WITH IT AND MORE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE AWESOME BOOK.
This book gave me all the feels! It was my first read by this author and I look forward to reading more from her. The character development was solid, the storyline was thorough and the pacing was perfect. Parts of this book was so relatable, I had to take a breather, but it showed just how talented Cyn really is. Great Job Chica!
This was one of the best stories I read all year. I finished it in a couple of hours. I have never cried so hard reading a book but this bought out all my emotions. I'm so glad everyone got their happy ending! Great job I cant wait to read more of your work.
It’s really awesome how Mia and Jade friendship began. I really liked that this book didn’t have their friendship tested by one of them sleeping/messing with their friends man.
This was a good book. It was sad how Made was treated by her husband. I'm glad she got away, but was sad because she was homeless. I'm glad she met Mia an they became best friends. Noah was the man. He fell in love at first sight an never let Jade go.
Noah and Jade had the type of love that is every girl's goal. Jade is goals she had the friend in her corner when she needed one and the love of a man when the past was trash. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a realistic love story.
The characters were very much likeable, but when I say this story IMO dragged and was super repetitive. I skipped sooooo many pages and it just never seemed to end, most of the drama was at the end of the book. I couldn’t read the abuse part though and it was sad about the brother. Most of this story was just on repeat and it got frustrating, I love the friendship btw everybody and liked the build up but it got boring to me for a long while. This may be unpopular opinion but I like to get antagonists POV to me it gives to the story. I would have liked to see Elijah’s reaction to not being able to find her and realizing he lost. It would have cut down on the repetitiveness of the story as well. Overall it was an okay story but I would not read it again. I forced myself to push through and even then I skipped a majority of the story and just stopped reading at 83% of the book.
Jade and Mia were amazing. They met in some of the worst conditions someone could go through but they thugged it out together. One chance of them just trying to eat and have a safe place to rest changed both of their lives. Noah was everything you could dream of and more. The event that changed all of their lives had my stomach in a knot but I'm glad everyone ended up happy in the end. Now a lot of stuff happened in this book but I don't want to go into details but it's a great read. You won't be disappointed at all. This is my first time reading a book from this author and it won't be the last.
Wow. This was a wonderful story. Although it's classified as a romance novel, the friendship in this book really carried the story. Of course, we have the friendship between Jade (FMC) and Mia. We also have the friendship between Noah (MMC) and Kenyon, and Roman. Later, we see the friendship between Mia and Kenyon and Jade and Noah. There was a lot of heartbreak, tragedy, and WTF moments but we also have strength, redemption, friendship and love. I really enjoyed this story. Oh, eff Yolanda and Elijah! They deserved much worse than what they received.
Fave book by this author. Kept my interest the entire time. Her pacing was great. It is a beautiful gritty read on all kinds of love, and I loved the experience.
This is a mild con: I read and listened to this book (immersive reading). The narrator pronounced “ask” and “asked” as “ax” and “axed” the entire book. She did it while reading narration (not just when in character). AAVE is my first language too, I get it. Still, she was excellent and I enjoyed her interpretation of Mia the most.
But don’t take my lil 2 cents, go read it for yourself
“I just can’t wait for you to realize that your past does not define you as a woman.”
This story….I literally have no words. Beautifully written and all the emotions I felt. Jade has been through hell….her ex ain’t ish. She’s definitely a survivor. Mia is hilarious. I just loved her. The bond she and Jade have is beautiful and amazing. Noah is just everything and more. His heart is big and he knew how to be patient when it came to Jade. I loved everything about this story.
Jade and Mia- soul connected friendship. Jade and Noah - soul connected partners. This story was awesome had me crying and appreciating the fact when you go through stuff and you survive it, you live and bask in the love!
I love a thick book, especially when it keeps me on the edge of my seat, and that’s exactly what this book did. A beautiful love story full of twists and turns, pain and passion, and a slow burn that will engulf you in its inferno.
One of the BEST books I’ve read! The detail to different situations had me on edge. I laughed a lot yet shed so many tears reading this as I know many who have endured abuse at this level and some are still going thru it. Definitely need part 2, 3, and part 4!
Awww, I loved this story of overcoming obstacles and falling in love and building new relationships ❤️ 💕 ♥️ 😍 simply amazing. I loved it, and I loved it ❤️ ♥️ 💙 one of my favorite 😍
