Her: A secret painter. Him: An overworked financial advisor. A 10-year high school reunion. One steamy day, several hot nights. Can they find a balance to their lives or will it die before they have the chance to see?
Abigail, a dental hygienist and painter, has sworn off love. When she reluctantly attends her 10-year high school reunion, she reconnects with Logan, the man she was infatuated with all throughout high school. Several tequila shots later, he is escorting her home.
One steamy day and several hot nights later, they both want more.
As they struggle to find a healthy balance in their budding relationship, each of them must deal with personal issues. While Abigail struggles with her insecurities, Logan battles a troubled childhood. Can they learn to love and trust each other in spite of their fears, or will the passion fade?
K. M. Ryan was born in Spokane, Washington. She enjoys writing steamy, contemporary romance novels, but she enjoys reading them even more!
She knew she wanted to publish a novel at the age of fourteen. Several (unpublished) books later, she finally decided to self-publish at the encouragement of her family and friends. She resides in Nine Mile Falls, Washington with her husband, two children, and one cat.
This is an endearing second chance romance. Logan and Abigail went to high school together, never realizing they both had a crush on the other one. After reconnecting at their 10 year high school reunion they begin their romance.
Both Abi and Logan have a bit of a darkened past, Logan more so, which has caused them both to be cautious and leery with others. I will say, that their lack of communication causing mistrust between the two got a bit old after awhile, but that is a personal preference of what I like to see from my romance books.
This is also a pretty steamy book, with multiple sex scenes. I loved it, but I know this is something others don’t like to have.
Overall this was a good book and I enjoyed it. I do also wish we got a bit of an epilogue, I really want to know what happens after the last chapter.
Review originally posted to https://tinyurl.com/yanv8u3n. Abi has sworn off relationships and is being conned into going to her 10 year high school reunion by her boss with the promise that if she isn't enjoying herself after 30 minutes she can leave and he will never ask her for anything ever again. Pretty steep promise considering he is also her best friend. When she gets there the last thing she expects is for the guy she was in love with (from a distance) in High School not only to be there, but to talk to her. Can those feelings still be there after 10 years?
Logan always had a crush on Abigail, but never got up the courage to ask her out until it was too late. When he sees her at the reunion get drunk he takes it upon himself to take her home. Can just one night be enough, though?
Sexy, overworked male vs beautiful shy closet-artist. These two are too adorable for their own good. I can understand Abi's hesitations as well as her insecurities, as I am a very insecure person. At the same time I get Logan's point as well. He doesn't want to bog her down with the inner turmoil he is going through. I got this book on Kindle Unlimited at the author's suggestion and I loved it so much I finished it in two days.
I am dating my high school sweetheart. We were together for a while in High School and broke up due to it becoming long distance then didn't speak for 5 years. During that time we both had other relationships, but they didn't work out. Including a failed marriage on my part. Then, last year I texted him out of the blue and we picked up where we left off. Now we live together, are expecting our first child together (even though he claims my son), and are planning a life together. I tell you that because while reading this I sent him a text while he was at work telling him about the book and that it made me think about a certain guy that I had a huge crush on in High School that I am so glad I was able to get another chance with afterwards. He of course called me a sappy dork. He will live.
All in all this book is adorable, sweet, cute, and leaves you wishing for an epilogue. I need to know how things worked out between these two. Where they ended up, if they ended up. I need it. I hope when the author makes another book in this series it tells us something about these two. Otherwise I may go a bit crazy. Now, as much as I loved these characters I can't say that I loved them both throughout the book. I was just as mad at Logan as she was, even if I had a bit more of an idea than she did as to why a certain thing happened. Not going to give anything away, though.
This book is relatable on so many levels. Who doesnt secretly dream about going to their high school reunion and hooking up with their high school crush afterwards. And finding out they ALSO had a massive crush on you too. And then have it be more than that. This is what happens to Abigail and Logan, and it launches them into a VERY steamy but also very insecure relationship that they have to navigate through. This book is very well written with so much detail, the scenes unfold as if you are standing there watching. My favorite part, without giving away plot points, was Abigail's secret hobby of painting. She has always been too damn insecure to let anyone see her artwork, and throughout the book she works through that insecurity to actually do something about her old dream of being a painter. This is what I mean about this book being relatable. I think anyone can relate to having a dream that you want so much but fear of failure keeps you from pursuing it. I highly recommend this book!
This book had me hooked from the very beginning. Abi is me. I am Abi. Our thoughts are so similar, it’s unbelievable. I connected with her from the start and that made me want to keep reading. The sex scenes were great. I loved the storyline, but I wish there was a little more discussion/reference to Logan’s childhood trauma. It was talked about once, but then forgotten for the remainder of the book.
The ending felt rushed to me. I feel like Logan didn’t go into detail with Abigail at all about WHY he acted as he did, why he left. If I were Abi at that point, I would have demanded more information before being so forgiving. The information Logan provided would not have been enough for me.
Overall I enjoyed this book. I’ve recommended it to two friends.

I guess I haven’t read enough second chance romances, because I was a little surprised by how quickly this moved and how sexy it got! The premise is so dear and relatable, and while the characters have their own unique insecurities and quirks, they were absolutely both easy to like and cheer for. Such a fun, didn’t-put-it-down read!
This is a second chance romance where at a 10 year reunion Abi connects with her high school crush Logan. Their connection is instantaneous as they both try to find the courage to approach each other. Their story is fast and cute and makes you wish you and your high school had a story like this. The reason why I gave it fours stars is because Abi’s doubt in Logan because he didn’t call or text got tiring to read.
Abigail 'Abi' Green at her best friend's urging and attended her 10 year high school reunion, where she reconnects with her high school crush, Logan Campbell.
Abi didn't have a lot of friends in high school, and was hurt after her friend Kailynn, left her for the popular crowd. Shortly afterwards, a rumor was spread about Abi that impacted her deeply.
Logan sees Abi home after she had too much to drink. Unknown to Abi, Logan had a crush on her back in high school. Neither of them brave enough to approach the other.
Their relationship starts very hot and heavy, both struggle with past hurts and insecurities. One seemingly passionate evening, takes an ugly turn.
What I loved about the story was there was humorous parts, and the "Truth" statements that gave the opportunity to be more forthcoming with each other. I would've liked to have known more about Abi and Logan in the beginning. Logan carries a scar that rears its ugly head after a trigger, but this doesn't come into play until a few chapters into the story. There were lots of steamy scenes, from the first chapter and continued into the following chapters, which made me question how they were falling for one another, but didn't really know one another. I would've liked if they had gotten to know one another a bit better first.
The Reunion and what a reunion it was!! Steamy and sweet, the dream combo!
How many of us can think back to having that high school school crush and wishing something would have happened, only to get that chance at a 10 year reunion?!
Abigail gets her small wish when she reluctantly heads to the reunion telling herself only 30 minutes and she can leave. However when Logan, the guy she crushed on for year walks through the door looking all the more handsome than usual she can't help needing to rush to the bar and ease her nerves.
A few drinks and a talk, Logan and and Abigail light up some sparks however with her nerves easing she drinks a little too much. Being a gentleman he can't help needing to see her home safely.
Waking up its surreal and even more so when Logan makes his feelings clear on how he's wanted to take this second chance to grabs and not miss it.
It's a sweet, steamy light read with a lot of push and pull. You can see a lot of the insecurities Abigail holds within so it's nice to see her gain more strength as the story carries. It's also nice to see Logan be so open and forward in his actions despite not always doing this.
If you want a read about getting that second chance you never had and have it light up your Kindle, then you should grab this read.
Thank you K.M. Ryan for sending me a review copy in exchange for an honest review! I adored it!
This book was such a fun read. I read it mostly in one sitting because I wanted to see what happened next. If you like steamy romance, I definitely recommend this book.
I also appreciate how well written and edited it is. It can be so distracting when there are little mistakes in grammar and punctuation that should have been caught in the editing process (I was a journalism major so it really drives me crazy). There is none of that here. Mrs. Ryan did a fabulous job on this and I can't wait for her next one!
Synopsis: Abi/Abigail is a dental hygienist and painter, Logan works for a Financial Advisory Firm. They reconnect at a 10 year High school reunion. Abigail had been secretly in love with Logan all through High School and hopes this is her second chance with him. Some steamy, passionate nights, secrets revealed, misunderstandings and misinterpretations make for a romance that doesn't always run smoothly.
This is not my usual genre, fantasy and historical fiction are my first loves, but this made a pleasant change. It was a hot, steamy romance between two complicated characters, full of emotion and it kept me absorbed until the last page. The miscommunications and misunderstandings gave the story the ability to captivate and hold my attention. I enjoyed that each character was multi-layered, having their own issues to deal with and overcome. Both characters were relatable and drew you into their lives. I thought that though each had the outward appearance of being almost perfect, beneath the surface they were a little broken. This made them even more realistic and appealing. In one way I would have liked the author to explore more of their histories, but maybe a prequel or two would be great additions to the series. The story is told from the point of views of both Abi and Logan. This allows the reader into the minds of both characters and fully illustrates how differently two people can see the one situation. It is a massive case of misunderstandings. At times, you feel like you want to yell at them to just tell the other how they feel, but that would spoil the story. Overall I enjoyed this book. It flowed really well and the writing made it easy to be drawn into their struggles. I have read the synopsis for book two and am keen to find out Kailynn's story. I am intrigued to see if Abi and Logan make an appearance as well.
This was such a fun read, super entertaining and steamy. After seeing each other again at their high school reunion Abigail and Logan start a steamy but fragile relationship. Her insecurities and his workaholic tendencies seem to come to stand in their way. Will they be able to fix it? Or aren't they meant to be?
The good thing about this story is the familiarity. Most women have thoughts similar to Abigail but most career driven people come across the same thoughts as Logan.
Logan and Abigail were so sweet, adorable together. They had so much fun together and the storyline showed how much they cared about each other. Especially Logan showed how much he wanted a life with Abigail. Their discussions showed how important communication in a relationship is. They both held back so misunderstandings happened what lead to discussions. Again, this is very relatable, that's what happens in everyone's daily life too. Although I do prefer more foreplay in a sex scènes, they were still incredibly steamy. I did miss en epilogue, I would love to know what the future held for them. I enjoyed reading Abi and Logan's story, it was the perfect read to end the weekend.
The Reunion is the first book in the What If Series by K.M. Ryan. It's written in third person and is a very steamy read.
When Abi decides to attend her 10 year high school reunion, she has no clue it will bring her face to face with Logan, her crush from high school. She finds herself having one to many drinks and trying to forget the fact that he still makes her feel things. She never expects him to help get her home or to stay awhile or to become the most important person in her life. And Logan never expects to be given a second chance with his dream girl from high school.
Ryan does an exceptional job writing the story of Abi and Logan. Her writing style is impeccable. I definitely recommend giving this book a read!
A second chance at embracing the love they were afraid to admit to... Sometimes it was a challenge to envisage them actually making it... Oh the silly things you can do in the name of love! LOL
I so enjoyed this story and it's unpredictable nature allows you to really get to know the characters. I think my favourite character is actually Al. The best buddy , and boss of Abigail!
This was the first book I read from K.M. Ryan. Abigail and Logan are a second chance romance, when they meet up at their ten year reunion, they take advantage of that situation and find their way together. I love how they navigate their insecurities together. And in the end, they find their HEA.
Great read! Story line is similar to a hallmark movie but with a naughty side! The author did an excellent job maintaining my focus on the book. If you’re looking for some extra detailed romance this book is a must!
I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. They seemed like real people and actual possibilities in life. I wish there would've been an epilogue for more closure on how the couple faired in the future.
One of my favorite reads of this year I love the build of the characters and the spice absolutely love this entire book it has kept me on edge the entire book I had to know what was next and what was going to happen highly recommend to anyone over 18
