Along these tiers, humanoid forms moved slowly up and down, observing every facet of their surroundings. Every now and then, they would peer into the thin viewport of each sarcophagus as it came to a temporary halt before shifting direction. It would not take long for the casual observer to see that these humanoids were, in fact, guards, and this vessel was a high-security transport of some kind. An Alien Prison Ship.

Alien Prison Ship is about, yes you've guessed it, an Alien Prison Ship. That's it, reviews done. 4/5

If you need more convincing:

The book is s a slick "TV movie" style affair, akin to something you'd find on the Syfy channel. You know it's been filmed on a budget, but you can't help but enjoy it anyway. You have a slightly jarring transition between outer space shenanigans, and buddy copy drama - but once the book hits its stride, its goes full pelt until the end. To be honest, the name is so basic and to the point, Its hard not to like it.

Only main gripe? Should have been a bit longer. There's actually a cast of prisoners who get brief-ish descriptions, but don't get much more than that. The author Mulloy then keeps referring to them, and I had no idea who he was on about half the time (except the main antagonist, and a very well described killer droid).

Its short (3 ish hours?) but this is worth giving a go

This was an entertaining sci-fi action thriller. I thought Rhys and Neuto were a good duo, and the alien prisoners that escaped were all unique and interesting antagonists. There were a handful of really great action sequences which kept the narrative moving along at a brisk pace.

As a novella there wasn't a ton of character development or intricate plotting. It felt like there was a potential for a lot more of that based on the worldbuilding that the author presented, but as it is, it was a quick, enjoyable read. Definitely worth checking out for readers who like their sci-fi with big action.

Alien Prison Ship by. Terrance Mulloy

I enjoyed the read on this book. It was slow going at the beginning of the story but around a third of the way through the book it started becoming exciting for me. So yes I do recommend this book. Please note that I had writing reviews but I have tried to make this as honest as possible.

The beginning didn't really grab me, but as I read more I was pulled into the story. The 'odd couple' who have to save the earth are good value and the relationship rings true while it grows credibly to a real partnership.
Enjoyable, but short. Worth diving into.

Good characters

This was a solid read. It kept me entertained. The character development from the local cops to the detail of the various aliens was well done.

I'm not a big fan of comic books or comic book-like stories and that's what this reminded me of. I stuck with it longer than I wanted to but never could get into the story.

Fun popcorn novel

Malloy really captured the spirit of low budget ‘80s and ‘90s action/sci-fi movies. Incredibly quick, easy, and fun to read

Okay. So I lost a night's sleep with this book. It was screen swiper from the very beginning. Neuto (who I kept wanting to call Neutro) is a prison guard on an intergalactic prisoner transport. Rhys Scott is a detective with the Atlanta (Georgia) PD who, because he is honest, is on the poo-list with his fellow cops (all is explained in the book).
Neuto's ship crashes on Earth, in Atlanta (read the book for why). Rhys and Neuto end up as partners trying to round up the prisoners who get away.
The interaction between the two is funny and exciting. It's kind of a cross between Speed and Star Wars. There is something frenetic and frantic happening in just about every sentence.
Now, I don't know what this Australian has against Atlanta and why he couldn't have set this in Sydney or Canberra or someplace Aussie like that, but I would advise him that if he's trying to keep his nationality a secret, we call 'em chips not crisps.
Great escapism, just don't start if you have to get up early. Wait for a weekend or holiday. You'll love it.

Entertaining afternoon read. It crams a lot of action and a lot of plot into this short story/novella. Rhys is an interesting protagonist and Neuto is a character with great promise. Overall, the tale is a bit shallow and rough around the edges possibly due to its short length, but still a rollicking story.

A good read with a lot of action.

I enjoyed this story. I like the action and The humor. Rhys is a cop who must help alien prison guard Neuro kill vicious criminals who crashed landed in Earth. They chase after the criminals and have run-up is with the U.S. Military. I like the variety of aliens..

I ploughed through this book in a few sittings, non-stop action at a frenetic pace. The author is honest when he says he was inspired by 80’s flicks like Tango & cash and Alien Nation, As it is definitely filled with those vibes. I would recommend to all who are looking for a quick, action packed, enjoyable read.

An interesting book

An interesting book with good characters and a nice storyline. It just needs more background on the characters. Would make a great prequel to a series. I recommend this as a nice short story.

The kind of story you can easily picture on a huge cinema screen in June with a big bucket of popcorn. If the title Alien Prison Ship grabs your attention, you should grab this book.
