Badd Brothers #14

For a Goode Time Call...

Rate this book
The size of a Kodiak bear and covered in tattoos. A heart of gold, a rough and tumble past. Confident, powerful, gentle. Wise. Artistic. Deep wild brown eyes that see far deeper into me than they should.

Nothing in my life could ever have prepared me for the reality that is Ink Isaac. He’s just so much more than anyone I’ve ever met, and my instant, inexplicable, and undeniable attraction to him leaves me reeling.

But with my life recently turned upside down, the more time I spend around him, the more I realize I’m not even sure what my future looks like anymore—alI know for sure is, my heart and my body want him in it, even if my mind is saying something else.

* * *

She's a tiny little thing, all hard edges and sharp wit. All woman, with slender curves and hypnotic eyes. She’s all fire and bravado, and she’s melting my big, bear-sized heart, little by little. I’m utterly hooked. Willing to risk it all for her.

Everything she is seems to demand that I give her everything I am. I'm just not sure if I know how to do that, if she really knows what she’s asking for when she looks up at me with those beautiful, blazing hazel eyes.

She sets me on fire, but are either of us ready for what that fire will do to both of us?

For A Goode Time Call follows the story of Ink and Cassie. There is so much more to Ink than meets the eye. Sure he's a huge man, but he's got a heart of gold. He's confident, gentle and wise beyond his years. He's been hurt in the past, but that doesn't stop him from having one of the most beautiful souls I've even encountered. And then we've got Cassie. She might be tiny and short, but this girl has got a ton of spunk. Life has thrown her more curve-balls than she can handle. But, there's just something about Ink that makes her want to dive in and just try....

Overall, I thought this book was a really good read. I fell in love with both Ink and Cassie instantly. I loved how good and honest their hearts were. They both had hang ups and had life events that shaped them and made them who they are. Their chemistry was instant and powerful; their souls just calling out to one another. The pull completely undeniable. I just loved Cassie and Ink together. I loved their differences and how that made them special. I loved how even though they had been hurt in the past, their hearts were still so pure, especially Ink. He had all the reasons in the world to be jaded, but once you got to know him, you saw what a sweet, gentle giant this man was. And I couldn't think of a better match for Cassie. Ink challenged Cassie and made her look deep within herself. He made her open her eyes to see where she wanted to go in life and made her want to take a chance on them. Their story was sweet and left me swooning. I just couldn't get enough.

For A Goode Time Call is a fantastic read from beginning to end. The characters are a lot of fun and keep you captivated right until the very end.

I have a problem.. I hate this cover. Yes, he's a handsome man. Blah blah blah. This is not INK. Ink is native american, tattooed, bearded with long hair. Surely they could have found someone more in keeping with who the protagonist is. I'm very disappointed. I would have loved to see the embodiment of Ink on the cover.

Meanwhile, the book is excellent. I figured Wilder jumped the shark with the Badd brothers a while back, but she's doing just fine writing about the Goode girls. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

That's my spot to hide and just drift, to be.

It's the same thing over and over again and incredibly great - you will never be disappointed. And I thought and expected, nothing can be as good as the Badd Brothers. But Jasinda Wilder manages to keep the level, the excitement, the fun and the level of emotion, to keep the Badd's family feeling upright and credible and to keep the joy of living in Ketchikan alive.

If you need cuddly moments with depth, drama, real feelings, a HEA and a few juicy expressions, then off to Ketchikan, Alaska with Jasinda Wilder - you can let yourself go, get lost and you will immediately feel welcome and at home.

Read the whole series, starting with Badd Motherfu**er of the Badd Brother series and then drift off to the Goode-Girls. Take your time and enjoy!

Emotional gem…

I wasn’t ready to leave the Badd brothers and now I don’t have to with the Goode series spin-off. Ink was introduced as the bestie of Juneau and I have been waiting impatiently for his story. And that story? Well, it was phenomenal! The hidden depths to Ink we knew were there? They were revealed in a heart-punch, yet humor and human-filled, romance…

Cassie was at a painful crossroads in her life when she met Ink. Devastated by the loss of so much, she didn’t have any focus. Until he came… Ink was hiding, suppressing so much of what he was because of the pain and harm he’d been dealt. They were both wounded and hurting, soulmates that would either break each other completely or heal…

Their ride was full of family, humour, sarcasm and wit, not to be outdone by the steam and emotional hits this story was filled with. I loved how they didn’t look to the other to solve their issues but instead saw in the other, the support and love they needed to do that themselves…
I got lost in their story and didn’t come up for air until the end, it was that kind of read! One of my top picks of the year!

JASINDA-Destroys my soul-WILDER!!

I love this book. I love this series. I need MORE!!

The Goode girls in a Badd town... umm.. yes, why thank you Ma'am!

When Ink was introduced in Badd Business, I loved his tender heart towards his cousin Juneau. The familial connection between them left readers craving his voice, his story.. and the Wilders delivered.

Cassie Goode's whole life revolved around dancing. Until a horrific accident snatched not just her career, but pieces of her being. Physically hurt, emotionally drained and soulfully lost, Cassie needs more than just a compass to find what she lost.

It's no secret that when Jasinda writes a book, she pours so much emotions. Her words, the characters, the scenes and settings all come to life through the flip of the pages. I wanted to hug Ink. A bear with a tender heart. I want to be friends with Cassie. A fierce, strong bird wanting to fly with a clipped wing. Everything they felt, it was easy to feel right along with them. For a Goode Time Call... is understanding how love both breaks and build when you least expect it.

On that note.. I loved being back in Alaska! Also.. HOLY EPILOGUE!!

I love this series that I'm highly recommending and I cannot wait to meet the rest of the Goode Girls!

Damn y’all! Be ready with your BOB/ROB/husband. I literally had to wake mine up in the weeee early morning hours after the sexiness that J&J wrote. I LOVE that they’ve continued to expand the Badd series into the Goode girls series. Cassie & Ink are everything that you’d want when falling in love. Did they have to work through their struggles sure did but they came out on the other side stronger for it. As always I loved reading their story and can’t wait to get my hands on Lexi & Charlie’s cross country journey next!!

Deeply emotional, beautiful book

This was an absolutely amazing book. While it is most definitely steamy, it was very emotional as well, went in unexpected directions, and was deeply satisfying.

This book has two wounded people who come together despite it all. I admit I almost quit at the beginning, because it looked like insta-love. However, while the attraction was immediate, they did take the time to build their connection and relationship. Some tropes are reversed, as the hero doesn't have a six pack (gasp!) and the heroine does (double gasp!). A few more tropes are reversed, but don't want to post spoilers :)

This is a standalone, with some characters from the Badd Brothers series. I hadn't read the Badd Brothers series before and it didn't detract from the story at all. First person point of view on both characters. Very steamy.

I really loved Cassie and Ink from the start. I liked how both of them didn't shy away from their issues, they started talking about them right away. Sure it wasn't easy or without bumps, but by the end of the book you knew they would be ok because they took the time to really decide what they wanted from life and each other.

Unexpected

I am so excited for a spin-off of the Badd series. Cassie and Ink both need to heal from the curves live served them, but their chemistry sizzles. I turned the pages as fast as I could. I loved this book. Already looking forward to the next in this series.

Well this was a nice surprise to have more of the Badd series however this is now around the Goode family and there are cameos from the Badds, can’t get enough of them. This book is about Ink and Cassie, they have both been mentioned other Badd books. It’s their story and them getting over obstacles. Really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next Goode book

For a Goode Time Call is book 1 in the Goode Girls series by Jasinda Wilder. The story looks at the characters Ink and Cassie. Ink has a tough past. Even though he is a gentle giant, he has faced adversity because of his size and who he is. Hiding himself away from people, he gets pleasure from art, nature and tattooing, that is until Cassie comes onto the scene.

Cassie is fighting her own demons after her career as a ballet dancer takes a dramatic and drastic turn, making her question who she is and what she wants out of life. She was unprepared for Ink, but can she get her heart and her head in the right place for him to be her forever?

This was a really beautiful book about two characters who have had some hard things thrown at them. Ink was a really likeable character, he is confident, wise and knows what he wants, but he does let his past hinder who he could be and sometimes his lack of communication and overthinking can cause some issue for him. Cassie was a good match for him, even though there were at times you wanted to give her a shake because she was so stubborn and hurt (thank goodness for her mum and sisters).

There was a lot of depth to this book and you really felt for the characters and their strength to get through their challenges. There are also some great sexy scenes to keep you turning the pages and characters from other books who of course pop up to offer their advice! A good book to wile away a few hours.

I enjoyed this book. I had read the Badd Brothers series, so it was nice to get to read about some of them again. One thing that I thought was a nice change in this book was that it was the male MC, Ink, that was written as more the talk about your feelings and in tune with connection. Cassie, the female MC, was more the run away from your feelings. Ink tries to help Cassie work on herself and even leaves as not to distract her from finding herself first before there could even be a remote chance at a relationship. Ink has been hurt in the past and I was a little surprised how quickly he overcame the reason of his hurt. Without giving away the ending, it was nice to see the growth of Cassie through the book. In the beginning she reveals that she had been in an accident. Having been a professional dancer, the accident took her career. Her fiance also broke up with her and she lost her house in Paris as she lived with him.

Cassie follows her mother to Ketchikan after her horrific accident in France that cost her, her carrier as a dancer, her fiance and the life she lived practicing and touring around the world. Now she has to make new plans for her future. She is physical hurt from her leg's constant pain and lost in her thoughts... Then she is saved by Ink.
Ink a very talented Inuit, is a tattoo artist. He is a benevolent giant, a giant teddy bear who is afraid of his size and it's reason for had his heart broken in past. They are two damaged people who must find themselves before they choose to reach for each other.
I loved the Badd family but the first Goode sister book is 100%!!!

New-to-me author and my first from her. I bought this not knowing it was part of a larger series with interconnected characters/family members. It's supposed to be able to "function" as a standalone but maybe if I had read the other books beforehand, I'd be less MEH about the MC's. I don't know.

I don't know if it's the storytelling style but this really didn't work for me. I'm not as enthralled with either Ink or Cassie as everyone else seems to be.

The story of the Inuit tattoo artist Ink from earlier stories, and a ballet dancer whose career has gone kablooey in a car wreck. She's come to Alaska to rehab because her mom lives there and she doesn't have anywhere else to go. She meets Ink when he keeps her from accidentally walking off a pier. And they work their issues out with each other. I liked this one best of the books in the series so far. I think. It's been a while since I read some of them. It's a good read.

So happy for Ink!

Ink was my perfect man when we first met him. A gentle giant with a deep soul. In For a Goode Time Call we got to know more about Ink and met Cassie. They help each other realize their fears aren’t worth giving up on life or each other. I really like Cassies mom Liv too. I’m excited about the next book in this series the Badd family is a favorite.

Ink’s story is heart breaking and I love him!

I’m a huge fan of this author and loved her Badd series so when they blended with the Goode’s, I couldn’t wait to read the first book in their series.

Cassie Goode is having a tough time, she’s still recovering from the accident that ended her dancing career and is also heartbroken because her fiancé ended their relationship. She reluctantly moves from Paris to Alaska to live with her mom while she works out what she’ll do with her life now she doesn’t have dance. Frustrated that her leg isn’t healing as quick as she’d like, she goes for a walk but doesn’t really look where she’s going and nearly walks off the end of the pier. She’s shocked when she looks round to see who her saviour is and finds herself face to face with a giant man covered in tattoos.

Ink Isaac enjoys his solitary life and loves living alone and being a professional tattoo artist. Events in his past have caused him to build walls around his heart to protect himself but when he rescues a short, sassy woman from taking a splash, her fiery attitude and hypnotic eyes effects him in a way he didn’t expect and he finds himself wanting to know more about the mystery woman.

When Cassie wakes up in an unfamiliar bed, she tries to piece together what happened the night before and then she sees a familiar face. Ink explains to Cassie that she’d been ill and he took her home 3 days ago so he could take care of her which frustrates her because it makes her even more attracted to him than she already was. As they begin to spend more time together, they’re forced to admit to their mutual attraction and confront the issues from their pasts that are preventing them from having the future together they both deserve. Ink goes off the grid to a remote cabin leaving Cassie alone to sort her life out but will she realise that her life is better with Ink in it?

I loved this story. Ink’s past was heartbreaking and I wanted to reach into the book and give him a hug. Cassie was a fun character and it was nice to see her softer side when she was around Ink. It was great to catch up with a few of the Badd characters from previous books and I would definitely recommend this story.

“Knowing that, ninety-nine percent of the time, the greatest limitation on a person is himself or herself”

Jasinda wilder did it again. Brining us back into the folds of the Badd family. Reminding up that family is more than blood. Cassie and Ink’s story is heartwarming yet, gut wrenching. I am glad that Ink got his story and it was a story that needed to be told.

Oh my goodness, the things that happen in Alaska! First we had the Badd brothers, now we move on to Juno's cousin Ink, who we met in her story with the Badd cousins! This man, I mean this man is something else. He's huge in stature and in heart. He can read her like a book and knows there is more to her story than she is letting on. She is beautiful yet tormented. She has lost herself, who she is and her ability to do what she does. What is left for her now that everything she has always been has been ripped away from her. His painful past comes crashing into her tormented one. And when they finally rip the band-aid off of their wounds, what you get is a beautiful and heated love that will leave you breathless. This is Ink and Cassie's story and I know you will love them.

Do not think that you won't get a little glimpse of the Badd's either, because you will get to see a few of them in this story. Which was really great because I missed those crazy fools.

Wonderfully written story with equally wonderfully written characters who will, no doubt, steal your heart. I highly recommend this book!

I fell in love with Jasinda’s books a long time ago and her Alpha One Security and Badd Brothers series will always be go too classics for me (I’ve read both the series thru 2 times now) anywho… we now return to Alaska with book1 of the Goode girls and yes it’s a spinoff from the Badd Brothers/Badd cousins series and some of the sexy Badd’s do show up - Yay!!!

This is Ink’s story. He is Juneau’s cousin - the Hunky tattoo artist. If you have read prior books you know he is a giant of a man who keeps to himself yet has a heart of gold. When he meets Cassie Goode he doesn’t know what to think. She stirs something in him that he’s not sure how to handle. As for Cassie she’s a little spitfire, well on the outside. Inside she is troubled and lost. When she meets Ink she is instantly drawn to him; the more she gets to know him the more she wants him. But she doesn’t even know how to cope with her life or where she headed, how can she possibly let him in.

I loved the characters and Jasinda’s unique way of telling a story made this book an amazing read for me. I can’t recommend it enough and I’m looking forward to the next Goode Girls story. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "FOR A GOODE TIME CALL" Cassie Goode is was a dancer until she had a devastating accident that ender her career and she upset her fiance broke things off with her she moves from Paris to Alaska to stay with her mom until she heals and decides what to do with her life.
Ink Isaac is a Kodiak Bear confidant, powerful, gentle, covered in tatoos with the heart of gold, and a loner caused by things from his past so he protects his heart his wall around his heart are strong.
Cassie is out for walk she gets in an accident and Ink red rescues this firery, sexy spirited little slip of a woman who intrigues him, when she wakes up he tries to expand what happened to her that's she's been out for 3 days.
This is such a heartwrenching, heartwarming emotional storyline tbe mire time Cassie and Ink spend together their attraction grows but their past gets in the way can they get their HEA this is absolutely a must have book so well written and I loved the characters they pull you right in. FANTASTIC READ!!!!

I received a free copy of this book from the author.

Welcome back to Ketchikan, Alaska! I probably butchered the spelling of the town but you get my drift. It's the home of the Badd's and now the Goode's.

This new Wilder book focuses on Ink, which we met in the last Badd book, and Cassie Goode. There was a glimpse of Cassie in one of the Badd book's as her mother is dating the father of the Badd triplets and uncle of the other Badd's. Small world right?

There's a lot Cassie has to learn about herself, life, and love. She's not exactly in a great place but she's right where she needs to be. Ink never saw her coming but once he does it's all she wrote for him. The hardest part for Ink is allowing Cassie the space she need to figure herself out.

If you love all things Badd you won't be disappointed by the Goode's. I'm looking forward to reading about Cassie's other sisters a well.

Note: An ARC was provided by the author.

There was so much about this book that I adored. I fell for Ink and Cassie. She says it herself: he wasn't her type, but sometimes, it's what we think we don't want that turns out to be exactly what we need, and goodness but how these two needed each other. Theirs was a connection that went beyond the sexual, and I loved seeing them slowly--and sometimes painfully--make their way outside of their self-imposed barricades and flourish together. There's a smattering of supporting characters--most of whom, I'm guessing, found their happily-ever-afters in the Badd Brothers series--but this truly was all about Ink and Cassie. They were, at times, frustrating, but my affection for both of them never waned. I was absolutely emotionally invested in these two, and I loved seeing them make their way to their much-deserved happy ending. For a good read, pick up For a Goode Time Call... ASAP. Five stars. ♥
