Amish Amnesia is the third novel in A Covert Police Detectives Unit, but it can be read as a standalone. I thought the story was nicely and it proceeded at a steady pace. I liked the characters with Estella being my favorite. She is upbeat with a zest for life that is infectious. Estella provides some humorous moments. Jane’s life is in danger and Jeff is trying to keep her safe. It does not help that the man after her is wily and familiar with forensic countermeasures. The mystery provides suspense and intrigue. There is an attraction between Jeff and Jane plus Ben and Estella. Jeff is interested in Jane, but he is afraid that she could have a boyfriend or husband plus he does not want to let his feelings get in the way of keeping her safe. Jeff also feels guilting for the people he killed while serving in Afghanistan and for his fellow soldiers that did not make it home alive (feels he should have done more to protect them). Jeff’s insecurities and feeling were realistic along with Jane’s amnesia, feelings and flashbacks. Amish Amnesia is a clean romantic suspense novel with a charming beach cottage, a sick stalker, threatening missives, missing memories, swimming in the sea, and two potential couples.

Amish Amnesia is the third thrilling story written by Ashley Emma in her Covert Police Detectives Unit series. This story starts out on a thrilling note as Officer Jefferson Martin witnesses a young woman being struck by a car and left to die. The officer rushes her to the hospital where it is discovered she doesn't know her name or anything about her past. When another attempt is made in her life in the hospital Jeff decides to protect this young woman and catch the attacker. Jeff and his sister takes Jane Doe home to live with them and he brings another officer, to help protect her. As many attempts are made to hurt Jane Doe they finally catch the stalker but that's not where the story ends because there may be a second stalker. The motives behind these stalkers will leave the reader shaking their heads.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

Amish Amnesia is an Amish romance from the Covert Police Detectives Unit (book 3) by Ashley Emma.

After reading the first 2 books in this series I anxiously awaited the release of this book. The minute I got my hands on it I devoured it. I wasn't disappointed! This book was completely worth the wait. While this book is part of a series, it most definitely can be read by itself. Although I must warn you... If you like Amish romance with a good touch of suspense, then you might as well get the first 2 books and just read them in order!

Even with amnesia, Jane is such a fascinating character. She may not remember the details of her life, but her core values are still present. She is a kind and caring woman, with a deep love for God. She whips up meals that can stand up to many chefs creations. She can speak multiple languages.

Officer Jeff Martin is everything you want in a hero. Not only is he a cop, but he just finished a tour in Afghanistan protecting our country. He's also kind and caring, not to mention easy on the eyes. Despite dealing with his own issues, like his father's death, his natural inclination is to protect Jane.

As Jane and Jeff get to know each other better, they also begin to fall for each other. Yet, since they know nothing of Jane's past, falling in love must be put on hold. Jane could be married with children for all they know! Slowly Jane starts having small revelations about her past. Meanwhile she's learning how to live now. All while dealing with a stalker that caused her amnesia by hitting her with his car. It seems like the closer Jeff and Jane get, the more brazen her stalker becomes. Jane must trust God to work everything out. This is something Jeff has struggled with for a while. Yet, Jane helps Jeff realize that God has been there for him all along.

While I have also read the first 2 books in this series, this is my favorite book from the series. It kept me on my toes guessing until the very end. There were twists and turns, plus a whole lot of day to day life going on. There is a lot going on in this story to capture your attention. Plus Jane is such a likable character. You can't help but root for her. Even when you think you have it all figured out...BOOM!...there's something new to add to the story. I guess that's what happens when your heroine is dealing with a stalker while having amnesia, and falling in love. Plus, as much as Jeff and Jane love each other - are they going to be able to make it work? Everything points to her being Amish, and the Amish live a secluded life. How can Jeff overcome that?

I don't want to give away any spoilers. Just know if you like romance - then this book is for you. If you like romantic suspense - this book is for you. If you like books about the Amish - this book is for you. Heck, if you like to read...This book is for you! Give it a try today! Just don't blame me when you get so caught up in this book that you forget to start dinner, or can't put it down to go to bed! It's that good!

I had a review almost finished when ZAP -- page went back on my Kindle and all was lost.

Author's writing has improved but still has disjointed places that Make the reader stop And wonder Did I read that wrong? Did they write it wrong?

For example, a man enters a room and it clearly stated that he is standing at the door. A chair is mentioned as being available but he remains standing. Then on the next page he gets up. What? when did he sit down? I know for some people this doesn't bother them a bit. But for many of us, it does. Everything STOPS.

When are reader stops to figure out what they just read, that stop destroys the poorly developed plot. Not much different than someone else controlling the remote while watching a movie and pausing it every once in a while for no reason at all.

When reading a mystery story such as this, that stop is quite necessary. It could be a clue. Readers like me have to know. Part of the fun of reading a mystery is to see if we can guess who did it.

Beta readers can catch this kind of error. And should. But an editor should never let this kind of thing go by them. If you're an author and this is getting by you, maybe you need to make some additions to the people that review your work before you publish it.

This is actually a really good story. Good enough that despite the problems I've stated above I still enjoyed but this could have been a 4 even a 5 star book. I do recommend it just be forewarned.

Amish Amnesia, by Ashley Emma, is book 3 in A Covert Police Detective Unit series. Jefferson has recently return home from a tour in Afghanistan and is on leave from his job as a Covert Police Detective. His father has recently past away so he and his sister are staying at the family home in Kennebunkport, Maine. He witnesses a young couple arguing in a car, the women got out of the car and hit by the car. He takes her to the hospital. When she wakes up she has no memory. Someone gets past the guard to get to her. Jefferson and his sister offer to take her to their home and watch over her. With the police forces short staffed, it is allowed. He soon figures out someone is still after her and he needs help. So he calls in a friend.
This series is so good. It is fast paced, full of action and suspense. I found myself wanting to just keep reading this series to find out who was after the girl and who she was. I really enjoyed how even through she has no memory, she knows how to cook and has feelings that point to her Amish upbringing. I did however, wonder if this type of informal police action does ever take place.
This series does not need to be read in order. But since the book does reference characters from other stories, I feel it is best to read them in order and even read other series to fill in gaps and backgrounds. .
The author generously gave this ebook to readers. I was not required to write a review.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it is different from any Amish books I have read before. Jane Doe is the name given to our lead female when she is saved from being ran over by an unknown man. She is suffering from amnesia after the accident and can't remember anything. She is a beautiful person with a personality that immediately draws people to her. Jeff is the male leading character, he is very much of a gentleman. He is on leave from his job as a detective as he has just returned from a stint in Afghanistan where he was shot pulling fellow team members from an explosion. Jeff has a younger sister, Estella, she is a sweetheart that immediately becomes a best friend to Jane. We also meet Ben , he is Jeff's best friend and is who Jeff was saving when he was shot. We get to know these 4 very well as they live together trying to protect Jane from a stalker that is trying to kill her. This is a good suspense that gives us no way to guess who the stalker is or why he is after Jane. It comes to an excellent conclusion that leaves the reader quite satisfied that they have spent time away from their own lives for a while. I totally recommend this book.
I would like to acknowledge that I received this book for free, I was not asked for anything in return. The above opinion is all my own.

Jeff has just returned from Afghanistan and is on vacation until he goes back to work for the Covert Police Detectives Agency. He witnesses a young woman being hit by a car and left for dead. He gets the woman to the hospital and when she regains consciousness she has no memory. Jeff, his sister Estella and his friend Ben are committed to protect the young woman (Jane Doe) when she got out of the hospital and help her regain her memory. As Jane recovers friendships develop along with many twists and turns combined with stalkings and even attempted murder. As Jane slowly regains her memory she finds her true identity and family is the nearby Amish community. Will she be content to remain in the Amish community or will she return to Jeff who she has fallen in love with over the time she was recovering. This is a fabulous read keeping your interest to the very end filed with many twists, turns, drama and romance. Ashely Emma is a talented writer with excellent character development.

I received this as an advanced copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I read the other two books in this series and they were great. I wanted to like this book, too.

What I liked:
*The concept of abduction and amnesia was excellent.
*I like the concept of ex-milatary helping someone in need.
*The characters were kind and likeable.
*The book was a clean read.

What needed improvement:
*The story was pushed along by the characters making obvious mistakes. AImost all of the main characters made them. I like my plots moved along by believable circumstances. This makes exciting action and intrigue that is believable and not frustrating.
*The plot did not move smoothly along.

I was given an ARC and read it. I also purchased a Kindle Unlimited version and read it. I felt this book needed more plot refining before publishing. I know authors are on a time constraint, but delaying publishing would have improved this book. This book's concept had the potential to become a 5 star. These opinions are my own.

Jane lost her memory after a car accident. Jeff, a CPDU police officer and Marine, found her and brought her to the hospital. After learning that the person who ran her over is after her to kill her, he offers to protect her around the clock as well as help solve the mystery that surrounds her…
The plot is captivating. After learning that Jeff and Ben had had cases related to the Amish community, I don’t understand how they did not think earlier to link Jane to the Amish. Especially since, from the start, she had no clue about phones, cars, had very long hair, could cook really well (they did not recognize anything from her cooking?) and the list goes on. But it did not change anything about the continuation of the plot, so it was not disturbing, I just found it odd. This is another thought-provoking book from Ashley Emma. Enjoy!

Never forget God

What ever her name, she liked the name Jane!
After getting run over and left on the road, Jeff Martin found her and took her to the hospital!
When she woke up, she had no idea who she was.
Jeff was on leave from his police duties because he and his sister Estella, just lost their father.
They formed a bond with Jane and vowed to protect her.
When it got to be too much for him, he called an old military friend, and fellow police officer Ben Banks.
Ashley writes a good story about the Amish. This one being #3 in this series.
Each book can be read alone or in the series.
I would recommend these books to anyone that likes tales of the Amish with a little mystery to solve as a bonus!

Who am I?

Can you imagine waking in a hospital to find yourself surrounded by nurses and doctors and two people you don't know? I cant! So much of how we see ourselves is based on our past, but Jane Doe doesn't have one, at least nine she can remember. The kind young man who found her and his sister want to help, but what can you do to help spark a stranger's memories?
I've read many books by this talented author, and I think this may now be my new favorite (though I must say, I really enjoyed her autobiographical book about her time with the Amish community). As with all Ashley's books, they are clean, well plotted and with characters so real and relatable, you'd like to get to know them better! Authentic and very highly recommended!

Amish Amnesia tells the story of a young woman who has lost her memory and the ex-marine who makes it his personal mission to protect her.

Action, adventure, and romance make this book an entertaining read.

A couple of scenes stretched credibility and the misunderstandings went on a little too long.

This book is the third in a series, but I was able to enjoy it without having read the others.

I received an advance review copy of the novel. I liked it enough to post this review.

Amish Amnesia is book 3 of the Covert Police Detective Unit series, but I have not read the first 2 books. This can definitely be read as a standalone. This story pulled me right in. A young woman was hit by a car and left for dead. She was brought to the hospital by Jeff Martin where it was determined she would live but she had amnesia. She preferred to be called Jane. Even with amnesia Jane is gentle and remembers how to cook. Her deep convictions about religion are still there. However, someone is still trying to kill her. This is an on-the-edge-of-your-seat page turner! I loved it and will have to go back and read books 1 and 2!

I really enjoyed this book. All of these characters had many levels to their personalities which made them so interesting to engage in throughout the story. I really liked how Jane had many parts of her personality that she retained even though she couldn’t remember who she was, it gave her character a depth that made me want to keep reading to find out more. The way Jeff, Estella and Ben dropped everything to protect Jane, help her find out who was threatening her life as well as helping her to regain her memory was what set the tone for the whole book. I wasn’t able to guess the answers to the mystery of the story either, kept me guessing until revealed.

This book was a clean Amish read. The book was more about the "English" side rather than the Amish as it featured a young woman who had been badly injured and aside from the obvious physical injuries also suffered from a serious case of amnesia. Staying with Jeff, whose occupation was in law enforcement and his sister while she struggles to regain her memories, there are more attempts at her life and safety.
The story is engaging and enjoyable and you come to really like the characters that are in this story.

I was somewhat able to relate to the amnesia as I had a slight case of it, wherein I was unable to recall the accident I was in and the frustration that brings with it.

I absolutely loved this book. One of her best. When Jefferson saw a young woman being dumped and run over by a car he took her to the hospital. When she woke she found out she had Amnesia, so he took her home. What else could he do? Being a detective he, his sister and friends set about to help her remember her name and about her life. Of course there is Mystery. Intrigue, strong feelings, flashbacks and love intertwined in the story. All leading to Jane able to find out who she is and where she came from. The only thing left is where she is going. Great book!

Amish Amnesia is Book Three in the Covert Police Detectives series, but you can read it as a stand alone novel as I did. This is my first book to read by Author Ashley Emma and it's a little different Amish novel, but I love it. The author wrote a fantastic storyline of suspense with twists and turns, but also has love, trust and faith. Amish Amnesia is definitely a page turner holding my interest. I highly recommend reading this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

Loved this book!

Imagine being held captive, escaping after years of imprisonment only to be picked up by a mentally deficient person. And if that isn't enough, add in a bad case of amnesia! All that makes for interesting reading, whether or not Jane Doe ever discovers the truth about her former life. This author has done a skillful job of weaving tnis story together, withtwists and turns in the p!ot. I really enjoyed reading it.

I got tnis book in a mass giveaway. No connections to author or publisher.

This is book #3 in this series.

It is a story of Jeff Martin, a CPUD Detective who witnesses a hit and run accident.
The woman that was struck by the car was taken to the hospital by Jeff. This woman
suffered amnesia as a result of the accident.

Jeff and his sister Estelle and Jeff's friend Ben (who he fought with in Afghanistan) become
Lucy's bodyguards and try to find her true identify.

Through their efforts and attempts on Jane's life, the four become very good friends.

A truly wonderful story.

Look forward to the next one in this series, if there is or will be.

Amish Amnesia

This was a book based on the life of a young woman who had been kidnapped and abused. She had run away from her kidnapper only to end up in a car with an abuser as well. She tried to escape from his car only to have him try to run over her and left her on the side of the road. Jeff had seen her get out of the car and get run over before he could help her. This was a great book on the life of the Amish as well as how a young girl survives with amnesia. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

Good book

Jeff & Estella are camping. Their father just passed away & they were both in leave from work. Jeff is going to the grocery when he sees a young woman jump from a car. The man then hits her with his car. Jeff takes the young woman to the hospital.

Jane Doe wakes up & doesn't remember anything. While recovering in the hospital, someone tries to kill her. Jeff is a detective & agrees to protect her from her stalker.

Lots of twists and turns in the story as Jane tries to figure out who she is & who is stalking her.

Lost memory is usually a favourite trope of mine so I was excited to read this one. It started really well but I think, in the end, I've just read too much in this genre in the past couple of weeks to enjoy it completely. Or it could possibly be binge-reading this series, being 3rd book in 3 days. I found the pattern (one perp arrested but there's still something missing) so I expected it and the twist doesn't surprise me anymore. Or maybe it was just the romance in this novel that I found absolutely frustrating! It just dragged on and on... until it suddenly finished.

I loved Amish Amnesia. I loved the suspense but it wasn't tense the way some suspense novels are. The romance seemed to take center stage but in a subtle way. I also like the fact that Ashley Emma wove the characters from earlier stories into this story and gave us an update on their lives. I highly recommend this book. After such a review one may wonder why I only gave it four stars. After giving a few books five stars I realized that if I read a book that was above and beyond exceptional, I had no way to communicate that in my rating. Therefore, four stars is my top rating.

An excellent story line, lots of twists and turns – the characters are well fleshed out and seem like you’ve known them before. And there’s a surprise at the end. This one will keep yu up most of the night.
I drove Amish for several years and the culture portrayed in this series is accurate except I've never know any Amish that spoke more than English and Pennsylvania Dutch. they generally don't travel except to other Amish communities and they don't go to school after the 8th grade. Ashley Emma is a very creative author and writes excellent fantasy.

I absolutely loved this book.
I have a number of books using the Amish theme but this is the first one I have done a review for the book was outstanding. The author did a great job with the character development they came right off the page and they were people you would like to meet. This is a clean romantic suspense, different, and an engaging read. I highly recommend it. ! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
