My new comfort media. I don’t even know why. I love this stupid series so much that my husband successfully used it to convince me to try playing an MMO. I’m running around in Final Fantasy like “wow, this is just like in Yamada.”

No sabía nada de nada sobre esta serie manga y menos mal que me arriesgue a darle una oportunidad porque ha sido una lectura de lo más amena y divertida.

Es el primero, creo que de momento solo está este publicado en español, pero en nada saldrá el segundo y en su idioma original llevan 8 o 9 así que espero que no tarden mucho en traernos todos.

Se devora en un par de horas, tiene un ritmo muy ágil porque cuenta con una trama disparatada llena de enredos, humor, un despunte de romance y mucho contenido sobre videojuegos.

El diseño y el dibujo son súper monos y lleno de detalles, me ha encantado. También me gusta que la protagonista sea más mayor de lo que suelo leer, porque es universitaria.

Un inicio muy prometedor y divertido.

I’m normally not into age gap stories where the one of the characters is in HS, but this one just works well . Very fun and bubbly and I can’t wait to see where it goes!

It feels surreal to be holding this first volume in my hands!! I think it has been over a year since I binge-read this series on MangaMo and never imagined that one day I could hold it in my hands, but here I am!! EEEEPP!!

I confess at first it felt…odd(?) in the beginning? I never realized how much of a "glow up" Yamada had until reading the opening chapters, so having to rewind my brain to go back to the beginning was a slight struggle at first. LOL!

BUT! With that said, I still deeply loved it! Akane is just as amazing a heroine as I remembered and definitely felt all the heartstrings being pulled because of how she is feeling! We all need a Momo friend in our lives, even if she can be pretty brutal at times! LOL!

I forgot how blunt Yamada is in the beginning! I didn't dislike him because I don't think he's mean, but he does come across as standoffish at first. Though you quickly see how he IS thoughtful and is NOT a jerk! It's funny thinking how he said he doesn't have any interest in love because just you wait, buddy! You'll be saying something different soon enough! 😏

I really really loved all the characters and I am excited to get volume two because will be REALLY meeting all of them and not just seeing them! EEEEPPP!

Lastly, I do want to mention that I am bummed about the cover and the original qualities of the Japanese cover not being reflected on this English cover. I also was surprised by some of the lettering because some of the English translation was placed on top of the Japanese text…? Um, what?

I'll eagerly be looking forward to the release of volume two but I truly hope a little more care goes into its publication because this is such a wonderful first volume (and series)!

Just finished watching the little of it that was animated and it was cute/interesting enough for me to want to continue the manga . I wanna see what they havent animated yet PLUS I have seen edits of a CERTAIN scene to come and I cant possibly wait for however long it will take to be animated .

Reading all my current library volume one checkouts - part 1 of 7(?)

OMG IM OBSESSED!!!! This was so cute and fun. Akane is a sunshine and an extremely bubbly college student. Her boyfriend cheated and broke up with her. They played a video game together, and Akane has continued to play it after the break up. She meets Yamada, a pro-gamer in her guild, and quickly meets him in real life. Yamada is not impressed by Akane, or her sunshine personality.

I can’t even praise enough how cute this was! I loved how sweet Akane was, and Yamada’s grumpiness and standoffishness made them the perfect couple. I’m obsessed with this, I need to get my hands on the next volumes!

THEY AREEE EVERYTHING TO ME!! The meeting between the FL and ML was well written and well done. It's a slowburn and not an insta love situation. They are both awkward around eachother but that's refreshing to read.

THIS WAS SO CUTE!I just remembered to finish the first volume now, my work was really piling up and I just ate the whole thing up in one bite without writing a review!!

This manga is giving me a Wotakoi nostalgia and I'm loving it!! I was kinda worried about the age gap at first. I thought Akane was already a working gal, and I was like, "No, this gal can't possibly begin to date a high school student!!" She appeared to be a college student though. Nevertheless, the story is cute and I adore Runa!! (I'm actually on Volume 3 now, Yamada seemingly starting to bloom feelings for Akane.)

I think it's funny bc Yamada in the manga panels is not cute, but Yamada on the cover is v cute.

I like the premise, anything to do with gamer boys and gamer girls is enjoyable to me, but the pacing is abysmally slow. If I didn't have some background with this series (ie: anime clips) I probably would not be continuing my read.

However, I am very intrigued and can't wait to crack Yamada open like a nut.

FMC is not my fave FMC archetype, but we will push on.

The romance continues to develop in this volume and I’m really glad to see that the romance is not being rushed in anyway. We are seeing a little hints of Yamada noticing Akane more and starting to question his own feelings about her, and what they are, as he’s never really experienced a relationship or loved before.

Another really cute volume. I absolutely devoured it and I am picking up the next one immediately!!

THE POTENTIAL HERE IS SO GOOD. This was the perfect suggestion for me from my dearest Berry. Not to get too personal here, but I grew up playing so many MMOs and have been in so many guilds, which almost all of them relationship drama. As soon I started this, I literally flashed back to so many similar scenarios. And maybe that's saying something about the guilds I'm joining 🤣, but BACK TO THE BOOK, this volume was really cute and fun, and I'm really looking forward to what happens next. I already love both of our leads and I like that the pacing makes sense here, lmaoo. So many volume ones kind of just get going really fast and while the moments here are cute, nothing felt rushed.

I know this series is beloved by a lot of my friends so I can't wait to read more over time. 💖
