Pre-review: A matchmaking reality show on an isolated island gets really fucked up, can the MCs save their friends?
Village's Ritual is an adult manga series about an anthropologist (or a merchant of artifacts, as he calls himself) who seems to have a dark past and his beautiful and carefree assistant going through a serial of murder & mysteries cases.
This time the pair go to an abandoned island to look for a female acquaintance after she went missing. The last time anyone heard from her, she had joined a matchmaking reality show in which a couple of pretty young women must contest to win the heart of a wealthy young man, while their activities would all be shot by cameras. And...you guessed it, all isn't what it seems and the young man might not be such a dreamboat.
The twisted mind games and the reality show stuff are pretty well planned, unlike the previous volumes, we see more about how the bad guys manipulated the victims and the victims' mentalities than the description of some strange and exotic rituals and norms from the past. As usually the sexual undertone is all there and there are plenty of nudity on display, whether you are okay with it or not is pretty much up to you.
Can the MCs save the girl in time? I'll stay tuned for the next volume.
