Joanne is a psychiatrist at a mental clinic. She has seen all kinds of weird and crazy things throughout her career. Nothing surprises her anymore. Still, it turns out there's one thing she never expected to happen—falling in love with a patient.


Elijah is her special patient with hallucinations of dragons. His past is a mystery until one day, a dangerously handsome man named Keith shows up at the clinic. His arrival triggers something inside Elijah and the memories start coming back to him. Caught in a fight with Keith and losing control over his rage, Elijah turns into a dragon and flies away.


Seeing no other reasonable way out of this mess, Keith also turns into a dragon and grabbing Joanne's waist in his claws, carries her away.

Award-winning author Stacey Keith doesn’t own a television, but reads compulsively—and would, in fact, go stark raving mad without books, most of which are crammed into every corner of the house. She lives with her jazz musician boyfriend in Civita Castellana, a medieval village in Italy that sits atop a cliff, and she spends her days writing in a nearby abandoned 12th century church.
