Blood Magic

Dufin an ex-warrior dwarf now a mine working botanist, finds

peace and purpose in his gardens with his flowers. But he is

pulled away from his serenity by his king. An important package

must be taken to the High Kingdom.

A mission he shouldn't do on his own.

Enya, a human raised by dwarfs struggles with fitting in.

Loved by the dwarf mother who raised her, but despised by the

dwarf she longed to call father.

Jardeth, a thief too sophisticated for the brothel he was

found in. A roamer, traveller happy to go where possible

treasures may lie. His true intentions carefully concealed from

those closest to him.

What does the package they carry contain? Will it throw the

world into chaos or is it a peaceful gesture between two

kingdoms?

You may be wondering why the author is listed as Bobbi Kerr and the books are published with Bobbi Schemerhorn. I am currently undergoing a rebranding, name change. I will be starting to publish under Bobbi Kerr and soon my books will reflect this as well. Sorry for any confusion on the matter.

A Drunk, An Escort, and a Dwarf walk into a Plot

Blood Magic was an interesting read, though slow at the beginning. When one of the main characters is always drunk, one has anger issues mixed with blind loyalty, and the other just wants to care for the child they’ve been told to deliver, it’s hard to see how the ragtag bunch can come together. Yet come together they do, and each character grows and becomes more than they were at the start. It takes a while to get there, but I liked that the growth felt slow and natural. The big moments made sense in action, rather than feeling like they were blindsiding you. I do wish Enya was a little less over the top at the beginning, but in some ways it helped see her progress from beginning to end. Overall, a solid read

A wonderful read that is definitely worth it. As with any tale of length there is a slightly slow set up but once it gets going it's easy to say I'll just read another chapter before doing..
Our main character is Dufin, a dwarf, who has been asked by his King to deliver a pa Kate to a neighbouring King. Of course there are those who would like to prevent him and his companions, not to mention the truth of the package, make for a read you won't want to put down.
The characters are well developed from the start with individual characteristics and voices.

So many homophones
So many plurals with an apostrophe before the s
Such a dreadful attempt at spelling a Scottish accent (at least I think that was what it was supposed to be).
I don't know if the author was let down by the editor or by the proofreader(s) - or perhaps there were no editors and no proofreaders but this should never have been published in its current form. There might be a good story in there somewhere but it is completely hidden, if not destroyed, by all the mistakes.
I shall not be attempting the rest of the Blood Magic series even if they are the only books published in the next 50 years.

Awesome.

An absolute triumph! Well written with characters that come to life on the page, world building that is among some ofp the best I've read this book has it all. There's fun snark humor and the sort of magic you never want to face all woven together into a mind-bending narrative that I found impossible to put down. I wont attempt to explain the story there's so much happening I couldn't do it justice, suffice to say you really want to read this for yourself, I'm off to get the next in the series can't wait to see what happens next, enjoy, Baz.

I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of action and the perfect amount of magic. The characters were well developed and really fun to get to know. Sometimes I felt that the cursing was not needed and it surprised me only because I was so into the story and felt like it came out of no where. Other than that, it was a great book with a really fun adventure.

Blood Magic is interesting. It started off a bit slow, but once you get a little further in, it gets interesting. I fell in love with Dufin, his gruff exterior and soft heart. A misfit group, a mysterious package, shadow creatures that lurk in the dark, what could possibly go wrong? You'll find yourself wrapped up in the story. A fun read.

This book was so good, I just finished reading it and couldn't wait to share! From the very first chapter I found it difficult to put down. The writing just pulls you in and won’t let you go! There is action and humor and mystery, it has everything you could want in a book really! Y'all should definitely read it, or anything by this author really.
