Updated Review 12/19/23: "To me, the 'winner' at a party is the one who stands out like the black-and-white thrush."
The grip this series has on me right now! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
I don't even know what to say except I adore how much Clavis loves and respects Aurora and how much Aurora cares for Clavis! So much fun development in this volume and loved the "dress" showdown as well as how these two tag team! They make such a lovely pair and was totally swooning over Clavis saying all the lovely things about Aurora.
Truly, this series is such a gem, and glad I have volume three on hand because I forgot how intense this cliffhanger ended on!
Original Review 1/23/23: This series continues to be absolutely wonderful fluffiness! Gah, I love it so much!
I really like the steady growth of Felix and Aurora's relationship because I don't think they realize how important the other is to them at this point. Well, not fully true because definitely by the end one certain character DOES realize and IT WAS SO PRECIOUS! Totally was a highlight of this volume!
Aurora is amazing! I love how she continues to find joy in embroidery and everything that involves dressmaking, specifically in this volume. It was lovely seeing her find happiness in her hobbies! Plus, the way she stood her ground to a certain character…chef's kiss! She absolutely SLAYED in that conversation!
THOUGH THAT ENDING! Definitely have volume three on hand because I needed to read more ASAP! :o :o :o
Definitely still loving this series and am so excited for more volumes! The romance is so wholesome and sweet and the story itself is perfect. Highly recommend!!
I do love Yule’s hating ass cause he makes things interesting! Drunken Felix proclaiming his love for Aurora just melted my heart. Those two are beyond sweet.
Super sweet and THAT. ENDING. I had to get the next one IMMEDIATELY and am now 31% of the way into it, trying to nurse it since I believe the next one won’t be out for a while.
5, the cliffhanger made me do it, stars.

Felix is head over heels for Aurora. Her smile is enough to make him act like a love sick fool. Meanwhile, Felix’s rival, Yule Lumis, still doesn’t understand how Felix could have fallen for such an average girl. He’s out to get her, and inviting her to his family’s party is the first step. What nefarious plan does he have in store for her?
I still really like this book, but the attempted sexual assault at the end of the volume left a bad taste in my mouth. The villain was starting to look more interesting than that, and it's just a cheap trick. I'd also like to see more detailed art on the embroidery and gowns, since that's actually narratively important.
This is Volume 2 of The Fiancee Chosen By The Ring. This manga is beautifully written and illustrated, and the pictures that are in full color are outstandingly beautiful. The girl is Aurora la Porta, the silver-haired man next to her is Sir Felix Flavor (Aurora's fiancee), and the man with the black hair and purple eyes is the Crown Prince, better know as Eric the mage. This volume's timeline is right after Volume 1, where Aurora and Felix get ready to attend Lumis's party. Aurora has a well-known designer create her ball dress as a white dress with black embroidery, so that she will stand out from all the other ladies at the party. In this episode, Felix realizes that Aurora's smile makes him breathless, but totally at peace, and he now knows he's in love with her. There's a dance at the party and Lumis tries to get fresh with Aurora. However, he does nothing but tell her how ugly she is in comparison to all the other women, and insults her about why Felix chose her. Before Felix and Aurora left for the party, he gave her a beautiful sapphire necklace and earrings that had tiny microphones in them, so that she could help him find her if she got lost at the party. The one rule that is a must in any story is that if you introduce a gun or weapon, that gun or weapon must be used by the end of the story. In this case, that much-needed weapon is the necklace and earrings that Felix gave her. Will he hear Aurora's cries for help? Or will he be too late to save the only woman he ever truly loved? I gave this episode 5 stars and will read Volume 3 next.
The cliffhanger at the end was very confusing. So confusing that it's responsible for the star. In general the story is pretty cute, nothing particularly fancy or original but that darn cliffhanger ending... I just can't wrap my head around what happened on the last two pages... I guess I need to read the next volume to figure it out. I'm sure it'll redraw the situation when they open the next volume, so it'll probably make more visual sense there.
I still like the artwork but there is one thing that I've noticed is that the artist has a little trouble with proportions. Whenever you can see full bodies, the proportion of the arms seems weird. I thought for a bit that she just couldn't draw hands but I think it's a proportional problem more so than being able to draw hands or not. It seems to only come up when you have full body shots though. Torso to lower body seems to be slightly off with very awkward proportioned arms. I struggle to quite identify exactly what it is that feels off...
This gave a bit more growth to Felix and Aurora's relationship. Also got to see more of Felix's soft, awkward side, which I really liked. I have mixed feelings about the last chapter, however.
Time to get ready for a ball, and I just loved seeing Felix and Aurora get closer! I also love seeing Aurora embroider and being allowed to help out with her own dress for the ball. I just adore how cute Felix is and how he turns into a wobbly mess just because Aurora is cute/adorable/pretty or smiles at him. I loved the outfits both of them wore to the ball. The ball was fun, loved how Aurora was trying to help Felix, plus see the two just dance for a long while. And it was good up to the point that Lumis (who is the biggest asshole in the entire series so far) decided that to get Felix to annul the engagement was to defile Aurora. Eww, I am glad that Felix put those magical stones on Aurora, I need to read on to see how this one is going to go.
wheww!!!! this volume became so romantic...felix fell hard and fast, and they are now doing quite a bit of mutual pining/blushing that is pretty freaking adorable. I love the way he stuck up for her immediately at the party, though she was doing pretty great by herself in navigating both the meet-and-greet as well as the sudden attack by lady kirsten.
the final bit gets super dramatic (and a bit dark...was not expecting the attempted SA / r*pe) but felix is about to come in and whoop ass, so I'm ready for volume 3!!!

In book 2 we go to the main (male) rival's fancy party! Aurora and Felix have a bad time(talking to people), then win a fight(lady embroidery sass showdown), a great time (lots of dancing), and then the drama hits! Be warned, this one ends on a cliffhanger! We get more adorable romance-y bits between our two mains, some fun shenanigans with the family, and ever more embroidery & magic nerd outs! I can't wait for book 3!
This was a good second installment to the series. Felix and Aurora are so cute together! The art is also gorgeous. I particularly enjoyed the initial ball chapter in this volume. It was stunning. I have to say, I didn't expect that 4 stars.
They go by too fast, especially for the price… It’s a nice story, and I love that the fact that the love is showing so clearly between the two characters. My last book I was reading it’s been a slow boil. I hope it goes well we’ll see, but this one was good from the start. Just too little bang for the buck.
Loved the first book and I finally read the decoy r book. It was good but there were some unnecessary scenes through out the book. I feel like it could have been better and I’m looking to see some improvement in the third volume when I get my hands on it.
I really like Aurora, but the hero isn’t really measuring up. 😅 I also wish the dress illustrations were more detailed, since that seems so important to the story…
This one took a weird turn toward the end and also, her brother and the villain look way to close to the hero. Lady Aurora is not as clever in this one as she was in the 1st one.
Felix and Aurora are invited to a party given the other faction at court. The other side wants to look at the fiancee, apparently.
It involves Felix's giving a small fortune-telling demonstration, a royal princess in disguise, Aurora's decision to be striking (and embroidery to that end), discussion of wine, and more.
