This time it’s Heracles v.s Jack the Ripper, the most righteous and empathetic godly hero and the most notorious serial killer in human’s history are locked in a round of death matches which will decide the fate of humanity, the battleground is 19th century London, yeah!
Rating: 4.5 stars.
I really love Jack the Ripping outfit and his tools! On the other hand Heracles' setting is a bit standard but his backstory of how he got from being a human to a god is pretty impressive!!!
PS: Buddha the Enlightened One shows up as a hippie young man, I like it! But what is he up to actually? Is he empathizing with the humans because of his former human background too?

Talk about epic and well this it.
Poseidon vs Kojiro and it's a battle unlike any other. The way they fight and then the latter in his moment of defeat turns it around and through infinite losses is able to grasp a victory is astonishing. One of the best moments in the manga like that was wow.
And Heracles vs Jack the ripper in 19th century London is so vintage and their fight is full of deceit and action. Who will win?
The manga is getting so interesting and the fights just get better and better plus the art is freaking insane. Each page feels like it could be an anime episode. Just beautiful.

I'm giving this is a high rating mainly because of Sasaki Kojiro. The fight between Sasaki and Poseidon comes to an end and it is my favourite fight so far. I loved Sasaki's backstory and techniques. It is also fitting he was the one who fought Poseidon. Simply brilliant! The remaining chapters are about the 4th fight which is between Justice, represented by Hercules, and Evil, represented by Jack the Ripper. It starts out slow so I don't have a lot of things to say. However, people say that this is a great fight.

Akhir pertarungan Poseidon vs Sasaki sudah di depan mata. Pertarungan mereka sangat ssngit dan memakan banyak chapter ketimbang pertarungan yang sebelum-sebelumnya. Plot flashback untuk Sasaki sangat banyak untuk menonjolkan keunggulannya. Sedangkan plot masa lalu dari Poseidon hanya sedikit itupun hanya di volume 3.
Oke. Kalau boleh jujur aku merasa bahwa ada bagian yang ingin di tonjolkan author, yakni mengenai tokoh dari jepang yg lebih superior ketimbang 2 tokoh sebelumnya yang mewakili manusia. Aku merasa Sasaki sangat di spesialkan.
Berbeda dengan Poseidon, aku pikir kematiannya akan digambarkan memuaskan para dewa atau membuatnya sadar akan masa lalunya, mengingat ada plot flashback mengenai ia yang membunuh Dewa Adamas, kakaknya sendiri. Ternyata Tidak. Aku jadi berpikir kalau membuat fiksi tambahan di Mitologi Yunani mengenai Adamas di manga ini sangat tidak perlu.
Plot pembunuhan Adamas hanya seolah mengukuhkan kekuatan Poseidon yang disegani para dewa sangat mengecewakan seolah tidak ada bagian dari mitologi Yunani yang menggambarkan kekuatan Poseidon.
Kesimpulan? Record of Ragnarok sebenarnya sangat memuaskan dari segi Art, gambarnya sungguh memukau, dengan aksi yang indah memang kekurangan manga ini ada beberapa bagian yang kurang emosional dan plot yang aku sendiri kecewa. Tapi overall sudah bagus. Pertarungan selanjutnya Heracles vs Jack The Ripper.

4°combate entre humanos y dioses para decidir el destino de los primeros: Hércules vs Jack el Destripador, mi personaje favorito (no hablo del emperador chino que ha salido en el último capítulo, a ese le dejamos para más adelante).
Este manga no es de mis favoritos ni de lejos y tampoco me parece una gran historia. El concepto, la trama, me gusta, sí, pero creo que está bastante desaprovechada. No habría pasado nada por meter a alguna mujer (quitando a las valkirias, a Afrodita y a Eva, que no aportan nada), tanto en el bando de los humanos (Hipatia, Marie Curie, Tomoe Gozen, etc) como diosas (Eris, Amaterasu, Sehkmet, etc). Esta es la principal pega que le pongo a la serie. No obstante, este tomo es brutal, la entrada de Jack se merece las 5 estrellas.Por lo demás, que solo son combates, están entretenidos, el estilo no es nada del otro mundo pero tampoco es malo y algunos personajes te regalan frases muy épicas. Seguiré con la historia por Jack, Buda y el emperador chino 😏

POSEIDON NOOOOO HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO YOU. 🫡 anyways i guess humanity has a point or whatever now. BUT NOW ITS EXCITING AGAIN. GOOD VS EVIL. JACK THE RIPPER VA HERCULES. the author just thought of so many cool matchups and this is my favorite concept so far. love the lies and some of the panels (like jack’s introduction) were COLD. can’t wait for more!!

La pelea de Jack el Destripador contra Heracles.
Empecemos por Jack. Primero que nada tengo entendido que hay un OVA que dice que este no es el verdadero Jack, sino que mató al original y le robó la identidad, pero a falta de pruebas omitiré las implicaciones que esto pueda tener.
Los cambios en el lore son enormes y además están hechos a propósito para explicar el poder que le inventan. La verdad es que sin duda de los mayores desperdicios de material original de todo el torneo. El personaje resultante se siente, efectivamente, como un imitador de Jack.
Heracles. Su pasado no tiene nada que ver. Entiendo que hablar de la anterior vez que casi acaban con la Humanidad es un punto interesante del trasfondo de este universo, pero cambiar todo lo que hace a Heracles especial por un guionazo me parece innecesario. Podrían haber hecho un punto intermedio perfectamente.
La pelea, en cambio, está muy bien construida. Heracles consiguió sus hazañas viajando y Jack sólo hizo lo suyo en un barrio concreto de Londres. Así que el cambio de arena tiene sentido por ambas partes.
Las habilidades y armas de Jack tienen sentido para un médico, lo cual estaría genial si en este mundo fuera médico. Las habilidades de Heracles están relacionadas con sus trabajos, lo cual estaría genial si en este mundo los hubiera hecho. De verdad que se me escapa la dualidad que hay en esta pelea en ese sentido.
En cuanto a sus personalidades, me parecen bastante acordes a su lore en nuestro mundo. Heracles es una montaña de músculo con un corazón enorme, que hace lo que hace más por deber que por intereses personales, y Jack es todo un gentleman inglés. Me gustaron mucho ambos.
La estrategia que ambos siguen en la pelea también es coherente tanto con sus trasfondos en nuestro mundo como con las habilidades que se inventan. Le doy un 4/5 por la disonancia narrativa que generan los cambios de lore, por lo demás es genial.

Większa część piątego tomu serii skupia się na dokończeniu walki Kojiro Sasakiego i potężnego Posejdona. Dwóch niezłomnych wojowników, z których żaden nie ma zamiaru odpuścić i będzie walczyć do samego końca. Fani serii decydujący się sięgnąć po ten tomik otrzymają więc epicką potyczkę, która wielokrotnie potrafi mocno zaskoczyć. Kiedy sytuacja wydaje się być już beznadziejna, a wynik pojedynku przesądzony w przegrywającego wstępują nowe siły, które mogą zaskoczyć oponenta. Więcej na temat fabuły nie będę się rozpisywał, aby nie psuć nikomu lektury. Wystarczy jedynie nadmienić, że tomik ten jest ważnym punktem zwrotnym w całej historii, a pokazana walka ma gigantyczny wpływ na obie strony.
Końcówka Walkirie kresu dziejów tom 5 to tradycyjne przedstawienie nowych bohaterów i rozpoczęcie nowej walki. Tym razem oponenci są jeszcze bardziej zaskakujący. Bogów reprezentuje Herakles, uosobienie męstwa i dobroci, dla którego ludzkość jest bardzo ważna. Z kolei jego oponent to zło w czystej postaci. Inaczej przecież nie można nazwać najsłynniejszego seryjnego zabójcy, którym jest Kuba Rozpruwacz. Rozpoczyna się więc pojedynek dobra i zła, w którym ludziom naprawdę trudno jest komuś kibicować....

Muy buen tomo. La resolución del la pelea entre Koshiro y Poseidon fue muy catarquica para el ganador y se sintió muy ganada. Me parece que resuelve muy bien su historia personal. Por otro lado, el personaje perdedor me caía mal así que disfruté que lo destrozaran.
Después también tuvimos el inicio de la siguiente pelea y empezó interesante. Por un lado tenemos a Heracles (Hércules) por el lado de los dioses que no desea la destrucción de la humanidad. Y por el otro tenemos un personaje tan perverso como Jack el destripador por el lado de la humanidad. Me parece que es choque sumamente blanco y negro pero le da cierta tonalidad de gris a la historia. Hasta el momento se nos presentaba como "lado bueno" a los humanos, o si no era lado bueno por lo menos se lo presentaba con características positivas. En cambio a los dioses nos los presentaban como seres bastante pedantes y vanidosos, en general, son los "malos". Acá cambia esa narrativa y me parece que le puede dar mas complejidad a la obra. También las personalidades tan distintas de los combatientes, sumado a la arena tan peculiar, creo que va a hacer una pelea bastante divertida de leer. Quiero ya tener el próximo tomo.

In my review of vol. 3-4, I said that the fight of Adam vs Zeus is one the best and most epic that I've ever read, but now I must add the one of Poseidon vs Kojiro to that list, as well as saying that Kojiro is the other GOD of this manga.
I mean, the amount of intensity, emotion and meaning of the fight is just incredible. Not only this fight closes the narrative arc that started with the first one, but it's basically the amalgamation of all of the motifs and themes established in the previous fights. Towards the climax of this fight, much like in the previous, it just reaches those levels of epicness as well as surprise that just evoke excitement from the reader. Without spoilers, it's basically like the moment between The Night King and Arya Stark but multiplied by 3.
Then, the volume perfectly and smoothly sets up the next fight, which was something I was greatly surprised by. I don't know how these authors are able to deliver one extremely well-constructed and greatly developed fight one after the other.

O Final do Round 3 chegou e é um dos pontos altos de todo o mangá. O resultado final tem todo um peso narrativo difícil de se reconstruir em outras circunstâncias. Nunca vou me esquecer que esse momento me fez tremer de ansiedade quando li pela primeira vez e foi fantástico.
Também tem o começo do Round 4, Heracles contra Jack, O Estripador. Do pouco que vimos já temos o tema de Bem contra o Mal e também o melhor design do mangá inteiro nas mãos do Jack. É o começo para o que se torna a melhor luta do Mangá inteiro.
Essa luta também começa o hábito dos criadores de dividirem cada luta em 3 Volumes, tornando as lutas mais longas e também mais fáceis de serem divididas em volumes.
Também tem o começo do Round 4, Heracles contra Jack, O Estripador. Do pouco que vimos já temos o tema de Bem contra o Mal e também o melhor design do mangá inteiro nas mãos do Jack. É o começo para o que se torna a melhor luta do Mangá inteiro.

Con la Victoria de Sasaki los dioses tienen que ponerse serios.
Para esta ronda se enfrentaran Hercules contra Jack el destripador, hasta donde he leido esta esta en mi top 3.
1. Adan vs Zeus
2. Jack vs Hercules
3. Buda vs Zerofuku
En estos 3 capitulos primero vemos la victoria de kojiro, luego vemos como nos presentan a Hercules y en el tercero vemos el comienzo de la lucha, todo el mundo se quejaba de que Jack representara a la humanidad.
Como siempre, hay personajes secundarios memorables en el fondo <3

The first chapter was the most anticipated one. Sasaki's ability to anticipate paved his way off to his first ever victory. It was a moment of of great joy to me. The God's were shocked, humans were happy beyond belief and Hilde, Geir and Hrist were over the moon.
The loss 📉 has made the Gods anxious and Hilde has to find out who will be the next Champion and it is none other than Heracles.
Will the humans Champion who is none other than Jack the Ripper, the ultimate villain be able to defeat the protector of the righteous.

Bastante curiosa la combinación de ambos personajes y la gran relación que tienen. Al principio me sorprendió el que escogieran a Jack el Destripador para que peleara contra Hércules, pues hay una gran diferencia de fuerza entre los dos, pero fue grata la sorpresa de que Jack contenga una inteligencia y capacidad para crear estrategias abismal. Mal contra bien, mente contra cuerpo, espero mucho de esta pelea.

This volume wrapped up the 3rd round and started the 4th. The way the 3rd round fight was wrapped up was confusing, both with the art and the ‘explanation’. The start of the first fight seemed even more charicaturish (sp?) than the prior ones. The character designs are still good but I am not particularly excited about the 4th round match up. It was not a bad volume but, to me, it took a drop in enjoyability.

August 6, 2024Il m'a fallu du temps avant de me remettre dans l’histoire étant donné que ça fait longtemps que j’avais lu le précédent livre. Et encore une fois c’était trop bien , je ne comprends pas pourquoi personne n’en parle de ce manga, il est vraiment trop bien. Plus en avance dans la saga plus les tomes deviennent meilleurs.

AKhir pertarungan Kojiro vs Posedion cukup mengejutkan.
Di satu sisi pertarungan berikutnya justru berbanding terbalik antara tokoh Hercules yang erat dengan image positif melawan Ripper yang identik dengan negatif :)

I love the plot of this book the art oh my god the art it’s amazing the fight scenes always gets me so pumped the characters I love the twist on them there personalities amazing it is the best fight manga I’ve read hands down

La pelea de Jack el Destripador x Heracles, fua. El asesino en serie más famoso contra el semidios que pasó a ser Dios y de paso ama a la humanidad y la humanidad lo ama. Al contrario el que los representa, Jack, lo odian.

Pretty cool. I just love how they didn't try and make Jack to be a good guy, and how his ✨mind✨ is his greatest asset.
