I have gotten better ideas for juicing by simply going to my local juice bar. Is this what I can expect from juicing “cook” books? I hope not. Thank goodness I can look at lots of these books for free through my library.
Julie Stafford's Juicing for Health is a book I purchased back in the day. I would have been eighteen and my then boyfriend (who is now my partner) bought me my first juicer.
I've always been incredibly intrigued by diet and health.
The fantastic thing about this book is not just the amazing juice recipes. I got my favourite recipes from this book and juiced every morning. I felt incredible, my skin glowed, I lost weight, and I had heaps of energy.
But the best part of this book is the information on vitamins and minerals and the symptoms you will have if you lack these nutrients.
Have dry skin?
Then you need Vitamin A. Juice apricots, melons, green or yellow vegetables, carrots ...
Losing hair?
Then you need Inositol and Vitamin B2. Juice citrus fruit and green vegetables, leafy greens and capsicum.
Suffer from bruising easily?
Then you need Bioflavonoids. You get this from the pith of oranges, tangerines, lemons.
You get the idea. :)

My eldest daughter came to me the other day, this book in her hands and said, "Mum, this is an awesome book."
I nodded and smiled. She then asked to make a juice straight away, and I let her. She loves to read this book and see what next fresh recipe she can juice to fix some ailment or just to feel amazing.
