After finding a sparkling pink phone beside the road at night flashing an SOS signal, the sisters from Secondhand Blessings become involved in a mystery involving the owner of the phone. Thinking the phone probably belongs to a young girl, they are desperate to find out who and if she is ok. It is interesting the many ways they use to find out all they can about her. In the end, the danger is more from herself than other sinister causes, as often it is for teenagers. In the end, it is decided that not all communication is by devices, but the best kind is face to face in a real world.
This story is about a cellphone, a car, a missing person, a stitch sampler, and home renovation. For me, this has been the least enjoyable story. I liked the sampler mystery, but I didn't like the missing person mystery. It was the ending that I disliked the most. I was hoping for something different.
Elizabeth and her friend John find a cell phone blinking sos while they are traveling home from a concert. They wonder who left their phone on a country road. The sisters have memories of a girl that went missing years ago so when they hear about a missing girl they are determined to try and find her. Mary is busy trying to find out more about the girl who made a sampler in the 1800’s. Martha is busy with her son and grandchildren, one that stays on his cell phone all the time ignoring her. She is trying not to upset her daughter-in-law but is concerned about the lack of face time with her grandson.
No. 4 in the series. The sisters find a phone by the side of the road flashing. They notify cops and discover the flashing was an sos. The journey begins with sisters up to their neck in mystery. Was my favorite so far in the series.
