There’s nothing like a witch storm to unearth a century of dark secrets...and there’s nothing like a best friend with a flaming sword at your back to end them once and for all…
The curse which infected those I love is over...and the woman in black is now gone. But Bestias Academy has changed since the Witch storm. Secrets have resurfaced and shadows consume the dorms. An old Principal haunts the hallways, leaving grave dirt in her wake. But that’s not all that’s surfaced. The fish in the pond are savaged and eaten…. And one is mysteriously gone. A monstrous golden fish with bright yellow eyes, leaving behind human shaped footprints in its wake. Ava takes refuge with Chuck, leaving me to huddle with the Wolves. And as love and lust lunger on Judas’ lips I find myself drawn into a battle like nothing before. Lions will come. Lies will be exposed. But will love conquer all? I guess I’m about to find out.
Prepare yourself for side-splitting hillariousness and super hot Wolf shifters in this slow-burn Reverse Harem Series. Suitable for readers 18+
Mila Young tackles everything with the zeal and bravado of the fairytale heroes she grew up reading about. She slays monsters, real and imaginary, like there's no tomorrow. By day she rocks a keyboard as a marketing extraordinaire. At night she battles with her mighty pen-sword, creating fairytale retellings, and sexy ever after tales.
Twists, mysteries, and threats from all sides. This installment reveals new secrets about the academy and its dangerous politics, while the tension between the FMC and her love interests intensifies. Even though I love the blend of romance, magic, and action, I seem to have lost some of my initial enthusiasm for the series.
After the way the last book ended I was so excited to get my hands on this newest addition and I was not disappointed!! Chaos sets in as the repercussions of the witch storm take full effect. I'm talking ghosts, strange magic, and so very much more that you will never see coming. Of course there has to be a touch of danger as well thanks to an evil Uncle finally showing up to deal with the events from the prequel novella. Fascinating story that will have you hooked from page one. Total must read!! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
Great read fast paced lots of fun with plenty of action and awesome characters loved the storyline and humor between the characters and lots of twists and a great cliffhanger
This series is getting very exciting, with twists coming out in every book along with secrets and lies. I am hoping the romance Ramos up a bit in the next book, although things are looking rather bleak for Morwenna, this vampire just cannot seem to catch a break!
I have kept reading these books because I like the idea and the plot, but this will be the last one. I find the story messy, and at times it's hard to follow what's going on. Quite a lot of errors in this one as well.
It's a shame as I like the characters as well, although the wolves especially could use more development.
I enjoyed this story. It picks up where the last one left off and we are smack in the middle of chaos at the academy. Things have come alive and are haunting the grounds as they try and figure out what is going on. I enjoyed getting to see the relationship blossom a little more between Mor and her 3 wolves and getting to see Ava and Chuck settle in to their relationship (wish we got more details here though). We also get to see the friendship between Ava and Mor become even stronger. This story had some twists and turns that held my attention the entire time. I enjoyed listening to it. The narrator did a good job for the most part, still have the same complaint of wish there was more consistency between the narrators that have read the different books in the series. This narrator read the first book in the series as well. My biggest complaint here is that there are mispronunciations of words (not just names and places that aren't consistent with others) that do take me out just a little bit from the story but the story was still enjoyable and I am excited to figure out what is happening next.
The academy isnt doing that well. Ghost, amongst other things, as suddenly showing up at school, in the dorms, in the classrooms. Some are kindheartet, some are not....
While Mor and her friends are trying to find a solution to the ghost issue, Solomon is visited by someone she was hiding from. Someone who was never meant to find her.
The book is well written. The decisions made by the author aren't all my favourites, but it is well written, so I can only complain that it isnt to my prefence. Hopefully the next book will bring the story back on a track where I'm laughing again, instead of getting more and more sad.
This book was all over the place... the Witch Storm apparently released all sorts of ghosts and poltergeists and zombies, but not much was done about it. The demon bunnies are still terrorizing campus. Jubba has been domesticated. The giant goldfish was actually a lion shifter. Salome and Nesrin are now friends with Amir and her group. And something is wrong with Bond. And none of that is even the storyline of this book!!! A lot of it plays a part, but Mor has to find a way to save Salome from a terrible fate. It’s exciting, but really disconnected.
Format: audiobook This books picks up exactly where the last one finishes, Mor and her friends just can’t seem to get a break, as one problem is resolved another is already in its place. I am really enjoying this series but the narrator at times pauses in the wrong place and continually mis pronounces words which becomes annoying. Is this an inexperienced narrator? It is possible some of the issues could also be in the editing of the book but having not read them I can’t say one way or the other.
Mor and Ava have another mystery to solve. Ghosts and ghouls have begun to permeate the academy grounds. Enemies become allies and everyone (Juda, Nero, Bond, Chuck, Ava, and Mor) join forces to protect one of their own. Mor just can't seem to catch a break and just live her life. Her relationship with her wolves is moving alone just fine. Ava and Chuck's as well. She adapts so well to each new conflict thrown her way. I like knowing the head of the Academy is not "out to get her" and may even be on their side. This is a fantastic series and I will enjoy it again and again.
Everything is happening so quick! I like how fast paced these books are. Ava is still one of my favorite characters. Mor and her relationship with the wolves is still moving at a snail’s pace, even though she’s 100 years old. I thought she would have more experience considering her age. Again, after everything that happened in this book, I’m left with more questions. What will happen to Brutus? Still not sure how a ghost can be King. Who’s killing the humans? Curious to see what happens in the next book!
There’s storms a brewing and there’s dark power growing. But that dark power needs to be released, and who knows what the end result maybe when it gets released. Another nail biting story that’s leading up to something big....
Another great series by Mila. Slow burn RH with a witty and strong main female, a hilarious best friend and 3 loyal wolves. Highly recommend this series- should be read in order.
Who you gonna call? You know the ghostbusters song? After a battle that causes things to come to light and people to choose unlikely side people who you think is foe is your ally.
This series gets better with each new installment. Secrets start to unravel but there are plenty more coming the groups way as Mor and her friends jump from one frying pan into another.
OMG I have always described Kim & Mila as my brilliant but bonkers ladies and this book re-enforces this. Full of action, sadness, suspense, laughter and a wacky storey line this book is pure enjoyment. Ava and Chucks relationship develops, More gets closer to her Wolves and if you have read the original Prequal ( Lions and Lies) then this adds context to the storey, If you haven’t read it where have you been? and go find it asap as it needs to be on your reading list. There is always magic, Mayhem, Death and Destruction around Mor seriously the chick is a magnet for chaos but always battles her way through with the help of her friends and allies even if in some cases they are or were enemies. I cant wait until the next book - literally this series is like chocolate to me you try to make it last and savour every moment but before you know it the box is empty and you are craving more.
So ghosts are now at the school...oh and don't forget Zombies too. Unfortunately that's not the only thing....Salome's Uncle has found out where she's hiding. More secrets from the church have been found underneath it that might answer some questions. Mor & her group of friends are stepping up to try and help Salome fight her Uncle from marrying her (against her will) or killing her to take over their pride. Salome doesn't want her killer Uncle to take control but she running out of options.... Mor is getting pretty good at everything being thrown her way but something might just change that......
Secrets And Shadows is Book 4 in the Beautiful Beasts Academy series. Mor, Ava, and the gang just can't seem to get a break. After one problem is taken care of, a new one pops up. I love how the relationships are progressing especially between Mor, Judas, Bond, and Nero. Also Ava and Chuck's now that Chuck is over his hang-ups. The world-building is exceptional. We have lots of action, suspense, twist/turns, drama, and emotions. This book ends on a cliffhanger (and what a cliffhanger it is). I am so looking forward to the next in series. It is extremely easy for me to highly recommend this book and series. It is very important you read the first three books before starting this book. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Secrets and Shadows (Beautiful Beasts Academy Book 4) By Mila Young and Kim Faulks. 5 Stars*****
I am loving this series!!! It is such a energizing and fun read. If you love stories like Harry Potter and magical mayhem then you'll get a kick out of Mor and the Beasts Academy. It will make you laugh outloud, at least it made me do it a time or two. The things Morweena, Ava and the rest of the gang keep getting into is something else.
I don't care if your a teenager or adult, if you want to get lost in a crazy magical mayhem themed story than I highly recommend you grab this one. It's that fun to read. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book...
I have voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog
I seriously love these two. The sassometer is set to full power for this next instalment of Beautiful Beasts and I loved every minute of it. The twists and turns will keep you guessing as our fave characters battle the aftermath of the witches storm, while picking up some kickass new weapons along the way. Old enemies will resurface and new ones will collide in a beautifully written story about the power of love and friendship. Oh and hold onto your panties because those wolves will make you swoon.
I swear these two just love cliff hangers!!! I have to admit with only two weeks between books, you really can't complain too much, I mean it's not really too long, is it?
YES IT IS!!! Its that awesome a series, each and every book is exciting, full of action, full of laughs and as the storyline grows and the relationships grow the detail is incredible you find yourself on the edge of your metaphorical seat.
Awesome.
No, seriously its not as bad as another of my authors, I've been waiting nearly a year!!!
This was a really gripping read. A spooky & surprising storyline, in parts, but it always kept true the series in its humour & bonds!👍 I was so glad there were a lot less errors in this book.🎉
The 'puppy pile' sleep over was hot.🔥💘 I'm so happy the romances ramped up for everyone!😍 The Headmaster was a surprise & formidable.😳 I think this book was the best out of the 4 but it's left so many questions unanswered - Argh!!🙈 Omg, that ending.💥😡👀 Book #5 here I come 😎🎉
Nothing seems to ever go right for Mor. She saved so many from a curse which now leads to ghost and zombies walking around. Some are okay but it seems like most want to cause a lot of trouble. Add in a principle who is watching her every move and a pack of lions causing a lot of problems. What can one vampire do to just make it through the day? Well she has one amazing and sometimes terrifying friend, a body guard and three hot wolves that adore her. Can’t wait to see what trouble she brings in the next book.
Mor, Ava and the gang just can't catch a break! They solve one problem, only to be thrown right back into the thick of it. And I love it!! It's amazing to see how they're all growing individually, and watch their relationships blossom and change. Chuck's over his hang-ups and we get some wolf action...FINALLY! The story is well-written and keeps you engaged. What I love the most though, is the underlying message of friendship, love, and inclusion. Great job, Kila Foung!
Holy cliff hanging guacamole! Geez I'm here like oh heck no! To say that I love this series is definitely an understatement! I absolutely love Mor ! She's such an awesome character! I'm so glad that she's finally letting herself be who she is. I love her with her wolves, her bestie and how she is trying to help others, especially those who can't protect themselves. Watching the characters all grow, mature and come into their own is such a pleasure. Eagerly looking forward to the next book.
