Driven By Guilt: Book Two of Keller's War

Rate this book
Returning to the sanctuary of his home in Dallas, everyman Jarrett Keller – although psychologically scarred by his recent battles with the Valdillo crime cartel – attempts to return to his unremarkable life in retirement. Instead, at the behest of an activist friend, he finds himself unwillingly entangled in a perilous scheme to disrupt the cartel’s illicit sex trade in North Texas. Jarrett’s efforts, however well-intentioned, backfire in in a most disastrous manner, threatening to destroy the very lives of the people he was trying to protect. When an innocent young woman is seized by a brutal Valdillo don and used as a pawn in the ongoing struggle, Jarrett and his companions, including a former cartel assassin, must journey to New Orleans to barter for the life of the hostage. Skirmishing with the cartel through the Crescent City’s vibrant streets, Antebellum parks, and suffocating, gator-infested swamps, Jarrett finds that the costs of his misguided actions only continue to mount. Finally, with no place to turn and no solution at hand, Jarrett is seemingly left with no choice but to make the ultimate sacrifice to atone for all the damage he has done.
