"We all sometimes find ourselves overcommitted. . . . We struggle sometimes to see where we are doing too much, a good girl-friend can sit us down over a cup of coffee and say, 'Hey, you need to stop.' And that's just what Rachel Balducci does in these pages. Like a good girlfriend or a sister who gets it, she sits us down and helps us to see that we need to figure out what our priorities are and let go of some stuff that doesn't matter quite so much. With honesty and humor, Rachel shares her own struggles and helps us to see we are not alone in the crazy. Without preaching or prescribing, she offers tools we can use to figure out how to balance our many priorities and commitments, how to know when we need to readjust, and how to find peace and joy in the midst of it all. Danielle Bean, foreword Overcommitted
This book is perfect for any mom who has too much on her plate, whether or not she works outside the home (maybe in these coronavirus days we need a new phrase for this?). Rachel Balducci candidly shares her own struggles with taking on too much and offers advice for evaluating commitments, making decisions, being willing to serve, and dealing with worry and fear. Each chapter ends with three tips, a personal reflection section that would make great journal prompts, a prayer tip, and a prayer starter. Highly recommended. I want to go through it again with a journal and highlighter close by.
This is a great book about finding balance in our busy busy lives. Rachel also gives practical tips on how to achieve peace and balance. I highly recommend it.
Really good book about strategies to cut out the chaos in your life and to find balance through prayer. I especially liked her words on page 80: “The key to a balanced life is developing the ability to recognize when worry and fear have become key factors in our decision making process.”
