Nice contemporary romance by Tina Radcliffe. Book two of her A Hearts Of Oklahoma Romance series. Love the Rainbolt family and how they stick together and make New comers feel welcome. This book centers on Reece mostly and I enjoyed his story. Trust , Forgiveness and Second chances is what this book is all about. I felt drawn into this book from the beginning as though I was there with the characters . The ending bought tears of joy to this reader.
Claire Ballard and Reece Rainbolt had a past together, in fact they had a daughter. Claire didn't tell Reece about Zoe even though she came home to visit her father often, she never crossed Reece's path. That is until her father died and left his property and business to both Claire and Reece. Now she would have to be in touch with him on a regular basis. How long can she keep her secret from Reece? Claire has no desire to even be anywhere near Reece since he broke her heart years ago when he walked away from their relationship. What was her father thinking when he changed his will to add Reece to the inheritance?
This book will make readers of contemporary romance very happy. If reading about cowboys is your thing you will like this story. It can be read as a stand alone but you will get more from the story if you read Book one, Finding the Road Home first.
I won a pre-release signed copy of Ready to Trust in a giveaway. I was not asked to write a review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

"But winning isn't everything, Claire. Sometimes it's about having the courage to play the game."

Welcome back to Rebel Ranch in Rebel, Oklahoma! This is the second book in the series but can totally be read as a stand-alone. And what a redemptive story it is, standing on the foundation of unconditional love, forgiveness, trust and second chances. If you have been following the series, you'd be happy to see Mitch and Daisy's rapidly growing family and fall a bit more in love with the Rainbolt family through Reece. If you've just started the series with Reese and Claire's story, then you need to hurry up and read Mitch's story too.

Reece, the second born in the Rainbolt family, is a hard-working, loyal, dedicated, innovative rancher and businessman who believes in family and heritage. The Rainbolt siblings have had a tough past with heartbreak and trials; Reece, out of all the siblings, ran wild and irresponsible until he was faced with God's unconditional love and his siblings' unending support. His troubled past had tangled with Claire's quite a few years ago and they meet again - this time as neighbors who have been given half of an inheritance to Claire's family farm. Claire is a straight-forward, no-nonsense, hard-working nurse who's always felt unloved by her busy father and is in the midst of grieving his sudden death. Her daughter Zoe is absolutely adorable and her relationship with Reece sparkles as he effortlessly slips into his role as her father. The characters are deeply layered and multi-dimensional; their heartaches, hopes, and dreams are so real and tangible. The secondary characters are also memorable and lovable. The plot moves at a great speed and holds you captive until the very end.

If you enjoy contemporary romance, you will absolutely love this book. I can't wait to read about Tucker, the third brother, in the next book. I received a copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

Because the picture of the main character, Reece Rainbolt, is on the cover of Tina Radcliffe’s new book, Ready to Trust, you will want to read it. Trust me! This is the second book in the Hearts of Oklahoma Romance series and is set in Rebel, Oklahoma. Claire Ballard and Reece have known each other since high school and have a past that includes a daughter that Reece has just learned about. Both join our story with issues from their past that they work through to find themselves and find true love. You will enjoy meeting them both and by the end want to have dinner with them over at Rebel Ranch.

Tina weaves together a story that is entertaining, delightful, and encourages you to dream big.
Honestly, if after looking at the cover you are not interested in reading Ready to Trust then I think you seriously need to think about checking your pulse. I highly recommend Ready to Trust.

PS The story also had me buying peaches. Hop over to Tina’s blog to get some new recipes for peaches, and her Christmas in July recipes.

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher and not required to write a review.

I might be a whole lot heartbroken because Reece (that's him on the cover) chose Claire and Zoe over me. I shouldn't be so disappointed...I mean I knew I didn't stand a chance going in but a girl can dream, can't she? About a Christian man with a heart for family who has learned from his tarnished past. The kind of guy who keeps his promises and cares about his community and is putty in a little girl's hands. I fell head-over-heels for Reece on page one...okay, maybe the cover had something to do with that too. In any case I was ready to dislike Claire on principle especially since....

Secret baby trope alert. I keep saying I don't like 'em and authors keep writing really good ones so here I sit, eating humble pie all over again. At first I was wary of Claire. I didn't understand why she'd keep their daughter a secret from Reece. That tarnished past I mentioned? Well, she met up with him then but even so, she didn't even give him a chance to turn his life around. To have a say in his daughter life. To even know her. And that got my back up. But the more I read, the more I began to see the bigger picture. It wasn't really about Reece at all. It was about Claire and her own brokenness. And then, I just wanted to give her a hug and tell her everything was going to be okay and I'd give up Reece for her and Zoe. (Snort -- as if that was ever going to be an issue!) Luckily she has motherly Nan to help her out and set her straight.

"You simply need to call on the Lord when you feel that way. His compassion. His mercy. His love. They are new every morning...You can't whine that you're parched when the living water is right there for you to take." (p 100)

Gotta love plain-speaking, salt-of-the-earth secondary characters who speak truth into the lives of the hero and heroine. Radcliffe excels at creating communities filled with interesting folks always ready to share some sage advice or provide a good laugh. And this book is filled with both. Wisdom and humour anchored in faith and hope.

I seem to have a tendency for falling for the Rainbolt men. I was sure my life wouldn't be complete without Mitch (Book 1 - Finding the Road Home) but I bravely let Daisy have him in the end. Now I've sacrificed Reece for Claire and Zoe's sake and where does that leave me? Anxiously anticipating the release of Book Three -- His Holiday Prayer -- which is brother Tucker's story who happens to be a vet who rescues animals!!!! I might finally meet the right brother and get my own happily ever after -- if I can do away with the pesky heroine the author has written into his story. I guess we'll find out in December. Stay tuned.

My thanks to the author for gifting me with a copy of this book.

Ready To Trust
Hearts Of Oklahoma #2
By: Tina Radcliffe

REVIEW ☆☆☆☆
Let's take a moment to appreciate the hot guy on the cover! Ready To Trust is Tina Radcliffe's second book of her Hearts Of Oklahoma series but can be read as a standalone. This is a fast but meaningful read. Reece and Claire were together previously, but that relationship ended on not the best terms. Now, they are reunited, and Claire has a big secret-a child. Reece has a daughter he never knew existed until now. He is a different man from the version Claire remembers, but Reece has to somehow prove he has changed. He wants to know his daughter, but Claire doesn't trust him. Can she find the courage to give Reece a second chance? Is he just wasting her time and leading her on? Claire must decide whether she believes in the power of redemption or in the adage that people don't change. Reece wants a second chance, but does he deserve it? These two have a history filled with resentment, disappointment and regret. Reece and Claire are genuinely flawed, confused and seeking something meaningful in their lives. Despite the bad blood, a child is pure love and light and can be a source of healing change. I enjoyed reading this book for all the warm fuzzies, humor and inspiration. Tina Radcliffe has written a lovely and charming story that I recommend for fans of contemporary Christian fiction.

Ready to Trust proves once again why I enjoy Tina Radcliffe's books so much. The very handsome rancher on the cover turns out to be even more special on the inside and even though he's made mistakes, he certainly isn't the person he was six years ago. Reece Rainbolt is now a hardworking man dedicated to his family but what he doesn't know is that his family has increased by one. Yes, Reece is shocked to learn that he has a five-year-old daughter and the fact that her mother kept Zoe a secret from him makes it clear that Claire Ballard won't readily accept him back in her life. Could there be trouble in the making?

"Maybe eventually they'd get to a place where she trusted him. Maybe even more than simply trusted him, though he wasn't sure what that meant." (p. 127)

Claire and Reece's history is filled with misunderstandings and raw emotions and now, they must try to find the best solution for their daughter. Claire's trust issues and Reece's efforts to prove her wrong remind us that we all deserve forgiveness and second chances. Radcliffe shows the hurt that Claire Ballard has carried for six years and she vividly portrays Reece's agony over missing out on the first five years of his daughter's life! Will Claire be able to accept that he may have changed? Is her pride stronger than her desire to do what's best for Zoe? And finally, can Reece prove that he deserves the chance to be a true father to this precious little girl?

Ready to Trust is proof positive of Radcliffe's skill in writing contemporary Christian fiction and I recommend it to all who enjoy this genre. It is a heartwarming story with a faith message that brightly shines throughout and I'm eager to see what's in store for Reece's brother Tucker in the next book of this Hearts of Oklahoma series.

I have to say that Tina Radcliffe's newest book in her "Hearts of Oklahoma" series is a winner! Also, the cover, in my humble opinion is one of the best I've seen in a long time. Just check out the peach trees...okay, I'm kidding, who wouldn't swoon over this gorgeous specimen of a real peach? His name is Reece Rainbolt and he is also swoon-worthy inside this delectable book.

Ready to Trust, is the second book in the series following Finding the Road Home which was the story of Mitch and Daisy who make appearances in this book as well. But don't worry, this book can be read as a stand-alone book.

The story is based in Rebel, Oklahoma and this story centers around Reece Rainboldt and Claire Ballard. Reece manages the family Rebel Ranch and Claire's father owned Ballard farms next door. The story begins with Claire's father passing away and she's come back to Rebel for the reading of the will. She soon finds out that Reece, her former 'fling' has inherited half of her father's farm. Both are dumbfounded when they find out about it. Claire wants to sell the farm to Reece because she has a job as a nurse in another town. Reece learns that Claire has a five-year-old daughter and doing the math, finally figures Zoe is his little girl.

This is a story of redemption, forgiveness, faith and love. It brings in some secondary characters like Willard and Nan that I just fell in love with. Sometimes the wisdom of older folk should be listened to and taken to heart.

Zoe won me over from the very first appearance. But I must say when she tells her mommy that she wants a daddy like Mr. Reece and then asks her how they can do that. She stole my heart.

Ms. Radcliffe wrote a remarkable story with well-created believable characters who made me want to jump in the car to find Rebel Ranch. I loved this book!

If you like contemporary romantic fiction you will love this book. I guarantee it!

On a 5-Star scale = 5 Stars!!!!!

Tina Radcliffe’s Hearts of Oklahoma series continues with a sweet story of forgiveness and second chances, Ready to Trust!

Claire Ballard cannot trust Reece Rainbolt. Years ago, he left her behind—with a child. Now that an inheritance has brought him into her life again, she has to protect herself and their daughter. Of course, doing so is not an easy task, as Reece determines to prove that he is no longer the boy he used to be.

As Claire and Reece sort through the complications of their relationship, Radcliffe shares a romance that is delightful to read. I enjoyed getting to know her characters, seeing them move forward from the events and feelings of the past that have held them back for far too long. It is an easy book to recommend to readers in need of a quick and entertaining romance.

What a story! I loved this book from the first page to the last. The community of Rebel, Oklahoma and the welcoming Rainbolt family add a wonderful sense of belonging to books in this series.

The title of the book captures much of what Claire struggles with – trust. When will she be able to trust that Reece is very different from the man she knew six years earlier?

I really loved watching as Reece and Claire began spending time together, whether it was working on the farm or spending time with their little girl, Zoe. There was great chemistry between them.

I am excited to return to this town and family again when the next book releases!

Family. Heritage. Ancestry. It means a lot. It's what defines our identity and unites us. It's what kept the Rainbolt kids together in hard times.

Reece Rainbolt certainly has an appreciation for family, especially after both his mother's death & his younger brother Levi's. It's what made him want to be a better man than he was when he first met Claire years ago. Running the Rainbolt Ranch has given his life new meaning & seeing whatever he put his hand on succeed has given him a pride in what the Lord has given him. Even with the successes, he's humble and does what needs doing. When he finds out he's a father to Claire's daughter Zoe, he feels an instant bond to the bright five-year-old. He bereaves the years he's missed and wants a second chance to be the kind of father he never had in his own life. If only Clarie would let him!

There was a time she would have done anything to have Reece Rainbolt's undivided attention. Those days were long gone.

I've never been a huge fan of keeping a baby or child secret in a story. But Tina Radcliffe gave Claire good reason and handled this delicate subject with grace. I just wished Claire would have been more open to giving Reece a chance to be a father to Zoe sooner! The past has tainted her view of him & it takes time & trust to come to a point where she feels comfortable. I really did like seeing the character growth in her along with the ability to forgive and eventually forge a new bond with Reece. Zoe was such a cutie, you can't help but fall in love with her yourself! She's just like any other bright, precarious & curious five-year-old girl who stole the show for me. Reminds me of my own granddaughter, really! I love this second chance romance full of forgiveness, strong family bonds between the Rainbolt family, all sprinkled with faith to ground them. It was awesome to see the story unfold; I really admire Tina Radcliffe's writing and how she can make a story seem real. Can I be adopted by the Rainbolts?

Never underestimate the power of a God who knows the desires of your heart.

Is it getting hot in here or is that just Reece Rainbolt??!! At first glance, readers will immediately be drawn to the handsome and charming Reece Rainbolt featured on the cover. Once you stop staring at the cover and begin reading this fabulous contemporary romance, Reece Rainbolt will undoubtedly steal your heart. Ready to Trust is the second book in author Tina Radcliffe’s Hearts of Oklahoma series. It can easily be read as a standalone, but you will also want to read Finding the Road Home (Book #1) to learn oldest brother Mitch Rainbolt’s story.

Handsome cowboys, small town charm, and strong family bonds… Author Tina Radcliffe pens a heartwarming tale sprinkled with humor that is sure to be a favorite among her readers. This is Tina Radcliffe at her best.

Discovering he is a father to former neighbor Claire Ballard’s five-year-old daughter leads Reece and Claire on a surprising journey of forgiveness and second chances. I loved everything about this book, and I wish I could be part of the Rainbolt family and live on Rebel Ranch!

If you are a fan of the irresistible Ty Porter from Becky Wade’s Porter family series, then you are guaranteed to love Reece Rainbolt! Ready to Trust is highly recommended for readers of inspirational contemporary romance.

I enjoyed reading this sweet clean romance with beautiful ranch scenery. It took me through a life story of loss, challenges, and love.

Reece was a rancher that went through years of hard work to become successful. He showed kindness with everyone he was around. That earned him some points with the ladies. I had to hold back the happy tears when he spent time with his daughter Zoe. Zoe was such a cute little girl in this story. Nan, Asa, Daisy, Mitch, and Willard were side characters that made me smile. I loved the side characters!

Claire’s father had passed away, and she was given some of his property. Her life as Zoe’s mom and a nurse had become normal for her. Her life changed when she told Reece that he was Zoe’s father. Claire went through hard things in life and so had Reece. I enjoyed watching them slowly but surely grow together.

Ready to Trust by Tina Radcliffe was enjoyable to read and go through Reece and Claire’s ups and downs and straight forward moments of life.

'The Rainbolts come from good stock. Every one of them is God-fearing, easy on the eyes and a plain nice person.'

Tina Radcliffe brings us her second book in her Hearts of Oklahoma series and it's just as good as the first one! I can't wait for the rest. Reece Rainbolt was not the man he is now six long years ago and is shocked to learn he has a daughter. Clare Ballard comes back to Rebel, Oklahoma when her father dies and is equally shocked to learn that her dad left Reece half the family farm. She definitely does not want to stay in Rebel near Reece.

I loved everything about this book: the plot, the spiritual theme, the secondary characters. Radcliffe has talent, folks, and this series showcases it well. God's mercies are indeed new every day and these characters need to get this down deep in their hearts. Expertly written and heart tugging throughout, I highly recommend this one.

Some of the reasons you should read Radcliffe’s newest book:
The first and most obvious reason is the cover of Ready to Trust. The swoony picture of Reece Rainbolt is featured for you to refer back to as often as you’d like. In case you don’t notice--be sure to make note of the peaches in the background at some time, as they are part of the story.
Endearing, realistically-flawed characters that show growth and change. Reece Rainbolt and Claire Ballard are so interesting to get to know. I loved seeing their relationship progress.
The awesome cast of secondary characters, such as Willard, one of Reece’s ranch hands. Willard to Reece, “Sweet-talking an old cow. My job description just hit an all-time low.”
The witty, fun dialogue—see the above quote for an example. Reading a book by this author is always a treat because of her ability to write an absorbing story using her great sense of humor and fun.
Radcliffe’s descriptions are wonderful. “After her visit to his home last night and seeing him with Zoe, she realized that she was only just beginning to peel the onion on this new Reece Rainbolt.”
Last, but not least, is an uplifting message of forgiveness, redemption, healing, and hope that will leave you feeling inspired and lifted with feeling preachy. Radcliffe is a master at weaving an organic inspirational message into her stories.
This is the second book in a series by this author, but it can be read as a stand alone story. 4.5 stars

This is my first venture to Rebel Ranch, and what an adventure! Reese and Claire make a great pair. Their rocky past must be overcome before they can find the future they deserve.

Forgiveness isn’t easy. Especially when you have five years of hurt holding you apart.

Tina Radcliffe pulls you into a story of finding yourself, finding hope, and learning that God always has a plan. Even if you don’t know what it might be. Don’t give up on what you believe in, because some things are worth fighting for.

The storytelling and characters were perfect for a solid can’t-stop-reading. The humor and grace kept the dark moments from becoming too intense while still telling a heartfelt tale.

This one is going on the keeper shelf. The messages of faith, family, and forgiveness will stay with me for a long time.

Okay the cover. Let's just sit and stare at the cowboy for awhile .... But lest you think this one is all about outward attraction, you'll appreciate the fact that this story goes far deeper. The relationship between Claire Ballard and Reese Rainbolt (that cowboy I mentioned) is tricky. She's back in town, toting an adorable little girl named Zoe who bears an uncanny likeness to Reese. Huh. But the question is, when Claire's late father leaves a portion of his land to Reese, she has to face the legalities of that without Reese discovering what she'd hoped he'd never know. After all, he did dump her years before so she's not so sure she can trust him. The situation becomes more complicated when he discovers Zoe is his little girl. Sparks fly in the process of working through the past and offers a second chance at happily ever after.

Reece Rainbolt has worked hard to redeem his bad boy ways but when he runs into Claire Ballard, she only remembers the man who broke her heart. And the secret she’s kept from him for six years
.
The Rainbolt family and the town of Rebel, Oklahoma invite readers in and make them feel so welcome, they will not want to leave. And, even when they’re pushing at each other, every scene with Reece and Claire spending time together is one I devoured.

Add to that the handsome cowboy whose heart is wrapped up in his little girl from the moment he meets her, and you just can’t get much better. Reece proves over and over that his heart has changed and he’s becoming the man God created him to be.

Just go ahead and pre-order Radcliffe’s December release now because you’re going to want it after reading Ready to Trust.

Ready to Trust delivers on a Dream Big theme!

Yall! I just have to gush over the swoony cover of Ready to Trust by Tina Russo Radcliffe! Isn't Reece the BEST book cover of the year?! He gets my vote!

Whew, now that I've got that out of my system (kinda-sorta) let's talk about the story! Tina builds a charming community in small town Rebel, Oklahoma starting in the first book, Finding the Road Home. It's full of interesting relatable characters, the Rainbolt family chief among them.

I loved Mitch and Daisy's story from the first book, so the bar was set pretty high for the second book. Not to worry though, Tina Delivers with a capital D in Ready to Trust with Reece and Claire. The title is well chosen, two hurting people with trust issues working hard to overcome the mistakes of the past, and taking another chance on love.

Ready to Trust deals with weighty issues of self esteem and brokenness, yet has a lightheartedness to it, thanks to Tina's well honed skill with witty banter and entertaining situations.

Little Zoe is a delight throughout the book, and so sweet and adorable when she says, "Mommy, I want a daddy like Mr. Reece. How can we do that?" Is there anything more mesmerizing than the wonder of watching a father discovering and getting to know his daughter?!

I also really enjoyed the cowboy wisdom of Willard and his love of "I told you so" while calling it like it is.

The overall theme of DREAM BIG is particularly inspiring because dreams really can come true, especially when we put our trust in God, and then each other.

Ready to Trust is so good!!! Put it at the top of your reading list! And if you are a list maker like me, then go ahead and mark off a spot in December for the third book in the series, His Holiday Prayer, Tucker Rainbolt's story. I can not wait!

Tina Radcliffe writes the best cowboy romances! I love the families she creates and I always want to move to her fictional towns. She also writes the best secondary characters. I loved Willard in this story! This is the second book in her Hearts of Oklahoma series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but book 1, Finding the Road Home, is also excellent and really should be read too!

Storylines where the heroine keeps such a huge secret from the hero always worry me because I’m afraid it will make me dislike the heroine. Thankfully I ended up really liking Claire. Her growth throughout the story was perfectly done and while I have to admit that she slightly irritated me a time or two, it all worked out because of what I thought were Reece’s perfect verbal responses and reactions. He was sweetly understanding, but he was not a pushover either. In fact, I loved Reece from the second he appeared on the page. I loved how he treated Claire and his relationship with Zoe was heart melting! Reece and Claire’s relationship worked because they each lowered their pride and were willing to admit the wrongs they had done to each other.

This is another wonderful read from Tina Radcliffe. I am really looking forward to the next story in this series which is about Tucker who is a widower and has the sweetest twin daughters and it’s a Christmas story!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Prism Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Ready to Trust by Tina Radcliffe is about a father getting a chance for a relationship with his daughter and possibly a second chance with her mom.
Can Reece get Claire to stay in Rebel again? And maybe to trust him again?
Claire Bellard
Claire Bellard is a great character. In the fact that she has flaws like any other person and one of her significant flaws happens to be that Reece Rainbolt broke her heart six years ago and isn't quite over it. Claire is a fantastic mom, but I may disagree on letting Zoe believe in the tooth fairy. She is a strong force, and it's good to have daughters see that in their mom, especially during hard times in their lives. The two things that I dislike about her is of course, about the tooth fairy since if she doesn't believe in that, does she believe in Santa? The other thing I dislike about her is that she doesn't try to see that Reece is different. It's like she has wrapped her heart and Zoe's heart in a security blanket so that Reece can't get in.
Reece Rainbolt
Ready to Trust CR IGReece Rainbolt is an excellent character. We can see that he has changed from what he used to be, and he's a mature man that wants to have more in life. Granted, Reece probably didn't think he would be an instant daddy until he saw Zoe. I think one of the fantastic things to have helped this two heal is having Zoe as a buffer for them and seeing each other in a new light. Those shadows from six years ago are getting brighter. It's great to see how a child can do that, and it has helped Reece and Claire a lot. Reece is good for them both, and I couldn't find anything to dislike about him.
Four Stars
I am giving Ready to Trust by Tina Radcliffe four stars as it is a great book. I loved everything about it and laughed out loud at specific points. Ms. Radcliffe did a fantastic job on this novel. Zoe is such a character, and she will be a handful for her parents in her teen years. I am also recommending this book to anyone that reads inspirational clean, and wholesome romances. Or to ones that love to read romance novels!

Wow! What a story of forgiveness and redemption, the forgiveness and redemption that comes from God as well as people forgiving those who've hurt them.

Reece and Claire have each made some mistakes during a brief relationship 6 years prior. Reece, bitter and hurt himself, compounded by the fact that he never felt good enough for her, ultimately hurt Claire by walking away without a backward glance. Claire, in turn, keeps their daughter a secret from Reece. Both have changed immensely since that time and now have to learn to navigate the challenges of being back in each other's lives.

This was a short and engaging story. I was able to read the whole book in one day, but I didn't feel like it was rushed at all. I didn't realize initially that this was book 2 in the series. I didn't feel lost at all having not read the first book so this can definitely be read as a stand alone. After looking at the blurb for book 1, you can obviously guess its outcome if you've read this book first. But I'm okay with that because I like my romance novels to be delightfully predictable. I prefer the journey of how the couple gets to the end. I do plan to read the first book in the series as well.

Also, look at that handsome man on the cover. I really judge books by their covers and I am hands down all about a handsome leading man making his appearance on the cover.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am leaving an honest and voluntary review.

Ready to Trust is the second installment from Tina Radcliffe's Hearts of Oklahoma series. I believe this can be read as a stand alone because I have not read the first book, Finding the Road Home, and did not feel lost. I thought this one was a great read. I loved getting to know Reece and Claire. I could relate to Claire's feelings and her trust issues. It was a delight to read and was easy to keep reading to find out how it would all end.

I am giving Ready to Trust a very well deserved five plus stars. I would like to read the first book and look forward to reading the third one from the Hearts of Oklahoma series, His Holiday Prayer, when it releases.

I received this book from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Thank you in advance to the author, Tina Radcliffe, along with Prism Book Tours for providing a complimentary copy to review. A positive review was not required or requested, and all words are my own.

Wow! Has anyone checked out the peaches on that cover?

A quick (and rather cute) story here …

This isn’t my first visit to Rebel, Oklahoma. And, it looks like it won’t be my last.

I had originally won book #1 – “Finding the Road Home”, as part of another author’s contest (again, no obligation to leave a review was ever required). So, I was REALLY looking forward to reading it when I could. I love to explore new-to-me authors, and Radcliffe is one such one – though she is no longer a “new-to-me” author.

I ended up winning a contest of Tina Radcliffe’s – it was a 2-in-1book of reissued stories. Since it was on or around my birthday, I thanked the author as it was definitely a special win.

As a bonus, she sent an autographed copy of that book. I gave the other copy to my mother, who ended up reading hers before I could read mine.

While it is rare for my mom and me to read the same books or even genres, my mother had nothing but praise for that book! She loved it. She isn’t much of a reviewer, but she was telling me I HAD to read it. And, I knew I would have to – that’s why I wanted it.

I decided – as I am doing a review for this book, “Ready to Trust” – it was time to read book #1.

And, I can see why my mom raved about it. She doesn’t do that often, so it is VERY high praise and definitely one that left an impression on her. By chapter 2, I was solidly hooked. I was reading so fast it was hard to take notes to be honest.

Since this is book #2 in the series, it “can” function as a standalone, but trust me when I say – MUCH BETTER READ TOGETHER. And, when you’re done, you’re going to want #3. My mother already wants this book (“Ready to Trust”), and we’ve even pre-ordered book #3 – “His Holiday Prayer” which is Tucker’s story.

Book #1 featured Mitch Rainbolt, this is Reece’s story. I found it funny that in the first book, Mitch had teased Reece about finding love, and this is Reece’s story.

Mitch and Daisy return, along with a few other characters. In fact, Daisy has a strong presence in this book as not only Reece’s sister-in-law, but a friend to Claire. Readers will be happy to see Daisy’s “success”.

Since I already loved Reece from book #1, this just continued his story. Claire was a different subject. There were times I truly understood where she was coming from when it came to Zoe, but I also felt that she needed to see how different Reece was. People can change, and also given what was going on at the time, Reece wasn’t in a good place.

While not pertaining to Reece, there is an “alcohol addiction” mentioned in this book. For those who might be triggered by that, this serves as a slight “warning”.

This was a darling or rather “peachy” story. Reece definitely shined in this story, and along with cute Zoe – there was a stubborn cow that seemed to make me laugh every so often. The characters were so realistic that this was like revisiting old friends.

Radcliffe didn’t hold back in this novel and really built off the momentum from the first story. She has a gift for creating realistic characters and such small towns that readers may want to flock to them. The other citizens are just as wonderful. While this was a quick read, the story wasn’t set to a rapid pace, nor did it slug along either.

Like the first novel, I really couldn’t put this down. I read half (½) the first night. And, it was an even quicker read than the first one. I absolutely loved this story, and Reece’s daughter was absolutely precious. I love how he didn’t shy away from being a father, and how he wanted to protect her heritage and legacy. On the other hand, I would’ve liked to have seen Claire have a bit more faith in him. And, it took over halfway into the novel for the big reveal.

I had one question, even at the end. It didn’t detract from the story, but I was really curious – I was wondering why Claire’s father left half (½) the farm to Reece.

As this is Love Inspired, the book will have Christian/faith themes like the first one – bible quotes, faith in God, references to faith. The tone is light and not a central theme of the story. One lesson is that when we want to see the bad – that is all we will find.

Fans of the author and the previous novel are sure to enjoy this book. It was as sweet and precious as the first novel. Overall this is an adorable, heart-tugging, beautiful, peachy treat of a book!

I’m definitely looking forward to the next story.

READY TO TRUST by Tina Radcliffe is the second book in the Hearts of Oklahoma series. It’s amazing story of Rancher Reece Rainbolt and Claire Ballard in the small town of Rebel, Oklahoma.

The story starts with Reece and Claire meeting unexpectedly in a law office for the reading of Davis Ballard’s will. Claire wants to settle her father’s estate, sell out and move back to the big city with her 5 year old daughter, Zoe, where she is a nurse. Reece’s surprised both by seeing Claire and not really understanding what he’s doing there. They had last seen each other 6 years earlier and they departed on less than desirable terms after he said “I’m not looking for a long-term kind of guy and I have zero interest in a future – with anyone.” Surprise hits them both when they learn that they have both been left half of the Ballard Farms.

Claire can’t stay because she can’t take the chance that she will be found out, but unless Claire can convince Reece to buy her half, she can’t move back to her city life. Reese who loves the land and feels it is part of Zoe’s heritage, can’t figure out why Claire wouldn’t want to stay and keep the farm in the family for her daughter. He may have his hands full with his own ranch, but land is near and dear to him and this farm is adjacent to his ranch. He convinces Claire that if she will stay through the first harvest to give him the benefit of her years of raising and experience from the farm, that he will buy her out if she still wishes to sell.

READY TO TRUST is wonderful telling of misconceptions and half-truths being corrected, seeing one another for who they really are and how each has grown and matured both in years and faith since their last time together. It’s a time of truths coming out, thoughts to the future and putting others before oneself.

The description of Love Inspired books on the back of the book sums up this series – uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope. Tina Radcliffe tells an amazing story of misunderstandings, second chances by opening not only your eyes but you heart and having ears that really listen, faith as it weaves itself in our life story and true love winning out. The way Tina Radcliffe tells a story you can see the joy in a little girl’s eyes, smell the peaches ripening in the orchard and feel the hope of a man who hopes he’s worthy of love. READY TO TRUST is the type of book that has you turning pages, feeling their pain and praying for a happily ever after for not only a couple but for one little girl. It shows you that through faith in God and a willingness on both parts that love can survive hurt feelings, space and time.

Although part of the series, READY TO TRUST can definitely be read as a standalone book. However, after reading this one, you will want to go back and catch the first book in the series. Then, like me, you will be anticipating book number three. Honestly, you can’t go wrong reading any book by this author.

Wonderful!

It’s so refreshing the way Tina Radcilffe integrates faith with everyday life so beautifully in this sweet romance.

In Ready to Trust, Claire has had her share of family difficulties. She has a hard time trusting people and a hard time trusting God. And because of this she’s a bit of a control freak. And of all people, she trusts Reese the least!

Reese had been quite a mess six years earlier. But he was a changed man – now if only Claire would believe him. I loved the way that in his struggle to do the right thing he still chose to do what was best instead of giving in to his natural reactions.

One of my favorite aspects of this story was the instant love Reese felt for Zoe. Their interactions and the sweet way he poured his heart out to this little girl was amazing! And though he had every right to be angry at Claire for not telling him five years ago that he had a daughter, he showed her so much kindness and grace instead.

I really enjoyed the imagery as well. I felt like I could see the orchards and the market stand. My favorite place was the creek he loved to go to for spending time dreaming. It sounds like the kind of place I would love to relax and read!

Ready to Trust is full of memorable characters, many of whom were introduced in Finding the Road Home. Willard was one of my favorite secondary characters here, full of wisdom and wit. He was so funny with the cow! I was glad Daisy had a prominent role again. What an amazing woman she was!

The Hearts of Oklahoma series is about the Rainbolt family. Though the family members are in each of these stories, the books do stand alone. I am excited to learn more about this family and can’t wait to see how Tucker overcomes his grief! I wonder if his story will be next…

Ready to Trust, by Tina Radcliffe, is the second book in the Hearts of Oklahoma series. This is the story of Reece and Claire. Wow!! Once you get past the cover, (I kept looking back), you don't want to leave the story. Radcliffe has a talent for creating characters from real people. There are so many layers to their personalities, so many nuances. There are flaws and imperfections that bring so much reality to the pages.

Reece has matured from the selfish, hurt individual he used to be. He has focused his priorities but hasn't really addressed the baggage he carries deep within. His family has always been in his corner, but Reece tends to keep too much inside.

Claire has had to deal with misperceptions and disappointments all her life. She also tends to keep things inside, showing the world a polished persona to protect the insecurities she carries within.

Reece and Claire share a past, briefly, as well as being a part of the small town of Rebel, where everyone knows everything about everyone. Secrets are hard to keep. And often they are revealed regardless of cautions taken.

I strongly recommend this series (and anything written by Tina Radcliffe, to be honest). Ready to Trust can be read as a stand alone book, but the series is better enjoyed by reading in sequence. Radcliffe uses her secondary characters to thread the books together with humor, patience, learning and faith. There is always a happily ever after, there is always a struggle to get to this happily ever after, and there is always a journey in faith and family that makes these stories such treasures to read and to keep.

I was provided an early copy of this book to ready, without expectation of a favorable review. The opinions expressed are my own. I strongly recommend this author if you appreciate clean, wholesome stories of love and faith.
