If you were forced to live with a beast, could you learn to love him, even if there was no cure to his curse?
Harper Viceroy lost every penny to her name thanks to a bad investment made by her guardian, Craig. Given to the man while in her childhood, Craig has been Harper’s father figure. When another of Craig’s bad decisions lands Harper in the mansion of a hideous creature and his inhuman family, Harper learns her father, Vincent Viceroy, had secrets he had not passed on to her—the biggest being Harper’s true identity.
Blake Danville, a gargoyle-Fae, has returned to his home only to find that his Fae family has been placed under a powerful enchantment by a new witch in town. With two of his brothers under the spell, Blake has been given a horrific task—he must choose between freeing the family he loves from their mind-altering enchantment, or protecting his soulmate who he’s waited his whole life for and only just found.
The witches are back for revenge, and this time, not everyone will make it out unscathed. Harper will need to come to terms with her heritage—and her destiny—before everyone remains enchanted.

Perfect for fans of Casey L. Bond, Chanda Hahn, and K. M. Robinson.
Melanie Gilbert tackles the retelling of my favorite fairytale Beauty the Beast in book 2 of her Fae Brothers Ever After Novel, Enchanted. This installment stars Blake of the Danville clan. Book 1 ended with him being cursed and unable to change from his gargoyle form. In Enchanted Blake must find a way to break the curse, save his family, and his soulmate without having to sacrifice one to have the other. Piece of cake, right?
Gilbert introduces us to a new villain in book 2. If you thought Stella from Midnight was evil, hold on to your hats cause you haven’t seen anything until you meet Mya! Gilbert has way to much fun with her “bad girl” characters when she unleashes her dark side.
Enchanted is a darker retelling that Midnight filled with an epic battle scene that left me breathless. This unique fairytale retelling includes a diverse, complex cast of magical creatures and is definitely one of my favorites.
*Enchanted is book 2 the fairytale retelling series but can be read as a standalone.
*I was gifted a copy by the author, all thoughts are completely my own*
It's pretty safe to say that Melanie has sucked me into this world of hers. The characters all have distinct personalities, the world is fantastic. There's magic, battles, fae, etc.
This story takes on Beauty and the Beast as the retelling. There are subtle similarities. I.e rose, beast, girl, enchantment.
It definitely doesn't have the "Stockholm syndrome feel". The main female can hold her own in a fight and is actually extremely likable.
As this is a series you have characters from the first book show up as well.
If you're looking for some good battles, fae, magic or a dude who could use some anger management (just kidding, he's pretty great... later anyways) then check out this series. The chapters are short, some are only 2 pages.
This series is easy to fall into and get lost in.
If you want long chapters, extremely difficult to dissect story lines or unicorns (I haven't read of one yet, lol) this probably isn't for you.
Oh what a magical story this was!! It's an amazing Beauty and the Beast retelling that had lots of different feels within the story.
The characters were awesome!! I enjoyed reading and getting to know Harper and Blake. Everything that happened to Harper made me tear up and cry for her!! Blake had his own struggles too but as the story went on so did the love for one another.
The storyline was strong and very well written. I couldn't put the book down because my curiosity kept getting the better of me and I had to know more. This is an incredible story and I highly recommend it.
This is a delightful twist on an old story. It can be a stand alone novel but is better if you've read "Midnight"! I have read other books based on fairy tales but these are my favorite so far. Blake is perfect as the Beast and you'll love Harper. This a story for young and old. Join the adventure you won't want to put down.
Love to the creative Version of beauty and the beast! Highly recommend. I suggest reading midnight, a Cinderella retelling 1st but totally can be read by itself.
I’m a huge fan of fairy tale reinventions and I loved this book so much!! The fairy tale influence was clearer than in book one but still had different enough story line that it felt original and fresh. I loved having gargoyles, the car garage scenes, and Rosebud pet name. As for villains, if you thought Stella was trouble, better buckle up! Gilbert has pulled another all-out evil, psychotic character from the dark recesses of her mind. This story is packed with romance, action, and twisted ploys by the witches. If you love fairy tales and clean YA books, this is for you!
