Chip Zdarsky is a Canadian comic book artist and journalist. He was born Steve Murray but is known by his fan base as Chip Zdarsky, and occasionally Todd Diamond. He writes and illustrates an advice column called Extremely Bad Advice for the Canadian national newspaper National Post's The Ampersand, their pop culture section's online edition. He is also the creator of Prison Funnies and Monster Cops.
If the last issue didn't already cement my dislike of the Fantastic Four. Seriously. What is wrong with these four super-powered humans that they had to think the worst of the Krakoans. NO ONE IS KIDNAPPING YOUR PRECIOUS KIDS YOU MISGUIDED IRRATIONAL IDIOTS.
- Sue Storm didn't do shit with her superpowers and her clout when mutants were persecuted but now that mutants finally have their own nation and safe space on Krakoa she went #AllLivesMatter. Peak Karen energy.
- All four of them barging into Krakoa under stealth and eavesdropping on the Quiet Council? What a shitty thing to do. When the mutants went to the Richardses' house they ASKED to come in. Even after Sue started getting high-handed and violent outside on the street.
Fuck the Fantastic Four and their unchecked privileges. Whatever plans Dr Doom has, if it's for mutant supremacy, I wholeheartedly support.
I enjoyed this well enough but I still feel this is written by a huge fantastic four fan. Sue Storm can wipe the floor with about 20 or so mutants herself?
There are plenty of mutants who could one on one take any/all of the FF but as with the last issue it just feels like they want the FF to be awesome and let them dust mutants for fun.
I'm sure a bigger FF fan would love this narrative but I just find it a bit tedious and ruins the enjoyment for me a bit.
That aside it would have been a 4 or 5 star tale, built up well and set up nicely for the next issue.
I enjoyed this issue. In fact the entire story is good and I love how they illustrate again how powerful Sue Richards is. But was it just me or are these books getting shorter?
Doom's being tricky and mutants are looking to come out on top. Reed's a jerk, Sue isn't faring much better. The art is good, if a bit looser than the Dodson's usual.
