Manuel Castells is Professor of Communication and the Wallis Annenberg Chair in Communication Technology and Society at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Southern California, as well as Professor Emeritus of Sociology and Planning at the University of California, Berkeley, Research Professor at the Open University of Catalonia, and Marvin and Joanne Grossman Distinguished Visiting Professor of Technology and Society at MIT. He is the author of, among other books, the three-volume work The Information Age: Economy, Society, and Culture.

این کتاب شامل مجموعه گفتگوهایی با مانوئل کاستلز استاد جامعه شناسی دانشگاه برکلی است.
هشت موضوع مختلف گفتگو شامل زندگی و آثار کاستلز، نوآوری، فضای جریان ها، سازمانها و جنبش های اجتماعی، هویت، سیاست و قدرت، دور دنیا و دنیای معرفت هستند.
کاستلز شناخت خوبی از تاریخ و فرهنگ کشورهای مختلف داره و مسائل رو خیلی عالی دسته بندی کرده. البته دیدگاههاش خیلی چپ هست که این در گفتگوی دور دنیا کاملا مشهوده.
از این میان، بخش هویت و تقسیم بندی سه گانه اش از هویت و همینطور سازمانها و جنبش های اجتماعیش برام جالب بود.
برای کسانی که کتاب عصر اطلاعاتش رو خوندن، بخش نوآوری و فضای جریان ها می تونه جالبتر باشه.
