Marek was born in communist Poland. He lost his dad at a young age, and when his mom remarried, at age fourteen, Marek moved to the United States.
Feeling like he was the fifth wheel in his new family led him toward a desire to control by focusing on earning his worth through accomplishments. Marek graduated in the top 10% of his class at West Point and became a Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division, where he deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Upon separating from the Army, Marek went with the highest paying job he could find, ExxonMobil, where he worked on multi-billion-dollar projects all over the world for ten years.
A tough divorce led Marek to a lot of soul searching and multiple life changes. After meeting the love of his life, Marek decided to quit his job and commit himself full time to the mission of improving men's love proficiency.
I enjoyed reading The Love Driven Man...even though I'm a woman. The principles are very applicable to life and relationships. The author shares his personal stories from his childhood in Poland, his education at West Point, and work for Exxon Mobil. He is very vulnerable and honest about his painful experience with his first marriage, and his journey of becoming a Love Driven Man. The principles he shares are very practical and doable. He offers great insight and positive encouragement toward a more fulfilling and faithful life.
Sprinkled with personal anecdotes, real-life, historical examples, and lessons learned from the author's professional experience in the army and at Exxon Mobile, the author conveys how to exercise patience and take action in a fun, enlightening way. Rudak's book is not just for men -- women also can learn from this book how starting small and keeping your mind and heart open can take you exactly where you need to be.
The Love Driven Man was insightful, entertaining, and revealing. I appreciated the author’s use of his own painful past and personal failures to illustrate and interpret his path to acceptance and genuine success—based on his true, God given calling while discarding the superficial and self-defeating path he took previously, and did not even know he was on. We’ll worth the time and highly recommended.
