Last Christmas #1

Desperate...

Rate this book
George met Eli Galbraith last Christmas on a skiing holiday and fell for him in a big way, making it a Christmas to remember but for all the wrong reasons when Eli never calls once George gets back home...
This Christmas, his best friend, Eleanor, asks him to go home with her for Christmas, rather than back to his less than understanding parents who have once again, invited along his homophobic grandparents for the Christmas break.
He agrees to go, hoping against hope that he might meet up with the skiing instructor again since Eleanor lives near the resort.
He gets the shock of his life when Eleanor reveals that she has a cousin who's a skiing instructor, called Elliot Galbraith. He realises after a rather embarrassing conversation that Elliot and Eli are actually one and the same guy...
He goes along hoping to rekindle something with the elusive Eli. What he doesn't imagine happening is meeting another guy, Kane Swain, who makes his Christmas one to remember... but for all the right reasons.
This is the first in a new three part series that tells the love stories of three best friends, Kane and Kurt Swain and Elliot Galbraith. This is Kurt and George's story. Sit back, eat too much turkey, pudding and chocolate and enjoy... It's Christmas...

Nope.

Not for me.

There were so many reasons why I didn't like this short, but ill just bullet point a few:

-The influx of characters we're introduced to in the beginning...it was a bit confusing
-All anyone ever talked about was Elliot....even during sex Kane and George talked about Elliot...cue the eye roll
-The insta love. I'm talking one kiss and one day of hanging out and were all in love and spending the rest of our lives together
-The fade to black sex scenes....I mean really whats the point??
-The writing felt rushed and disorganized. It felt youthful and inexperienced which threw me out of the story enough to start skimming around 30%

Anyways...you win some you lose some.

The summary sounds good but I really really hate it when an author rates their own book. (Especially when that's the only rating posted.)

Hmmm... I really am not sure what to make of this series... hopefully things will become more clear as I move on! George was sweet, adorable, cute, kind... the list just goes on and on! Kane is sweet, adorable, cute, kind... yep, you got it... *rolls eyes* LOL!!!

There was a distinct lack of emotions, as a matter of fact, it almost felt like I was reading about a couple of young teenagers that were dipping their toes in the "gay" pool. A lot of the conversations were a bit immature, but, I couldn't help but like both George and Kane! I had hoped for a bit of angst when the boys went home to visit George's family but talk about a "quick" sweep on that one... and suddenly the "dreaded" family issues were gone... hmmm

I believe I will move on to the second book of the series and yes, I have my fingers and toes crossed for some major improvements in typo corrections and a bit more on the emotional side of things! *grin*

Side note: I loved this cover, it is what drew me to the book! :D

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the "Last Christmas" series and can be read as a standalone novella. This is my first read by this author; unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me. I’m not a big fan of insta-love and everything moves fast, the writing was rushed and there is not good character development. I know it’s a novella but it had room to be much better. It’s angst-free and actually, I couldn’t feel any emotion (if there was any) and towards the end, I started skipping… All in all, it didn’t work out for me but I hope you enjoy it more than me!

I liked fact that all of people are connected by family and frienships

The book was not real long but their was a building relationship an a since of who the m .c s are. Their was passion between a new couple who is new to relationships. Not unsuitable for an older teenager. Main point was falling in love and finding a life mate.

That was definitely a story plot just for two guys getting together, so boring.

This is the first in my exciting new series for Christmas 2017.
The series revolves around twin brothers, Kane and Kurt Swain, and their best friend, Elliot Galbraith. all of whom live and work in a skiing resort in the south of France.
Elliot is a bit of a man-eater and gets through dozens of guys, which Kurt thinks nothing of, and Kane finds a little hard to take. Kane's had a secret crush on him practically forever...
Elliot also happens to be the object of George's desire. George and Elliot had a bit of a fling last year and he's come back to the same resort looking to rekindle things a year later.
What none of them expect is for George and Kane to start falling for each other after a game of truth of dare...
