Kelsey Scott has never wanted anything more serious than a hookup. Work triumphs all, men are simply trainable orgasm machines, and her friends and family are everything.

But with her brother's wedding rapidly approaching and matchmaking rapidly ensuing from all angles, she decides she needs a buffer from all the “perfect Mr. Rights,” the white tulle and frumpy bridesmaid dresses, and—ick—the heart-warming vows.

What she doesn't need is Tanner.

Her ex.

The only man who ever managed to weasel his way into her heart.

And by typical male progression, the only man to break it.

She’s done with the gorgeous, chocolate-eyed man who chased her down, got her to open up, and then promptly tossed her aside. She’s done with letting anyone past the barbed wire protecting her heart. Because if Kelsey has learned anything, it’s that she loves fiercely . . . and stupidly.

So no. No men, no matter how gorgeous. Definitely no emotional connections with those of the XY variety. And certainly no boyfriends. Not now. Not again. Not ever.

But when she and Tanner get paired up as a bridesmaid and groomsman at her brother's wedding, Kelsey finds it hard to remember all her steadfast rules.

Especially when it turns out that Tanner wants to get past all her defenses all over again.

This author has a great talent for rewriting stories that have been told thousands of times. Do you know the one that talks about the guy who loves his best friend's sister toooooo much? They date, he takes her virginity and go away for years, have countless other women and after getting tired of fucking around he comes back? And of course, she becomes inaccessible to all other men because she always loved the one who treated her like shit? Of course, let's not forget the lack of a minimum of self-respect when she takes him back in the blink of an eye and she ends up apologizing to him?! Do you know this story? Exactly. Nothing new here. The author should just change the cover and voilà!

"At first, there had been lots of women, but that had gotten old quick."

"At first, he’d loved flitting from place to place without being tied down."

"But eventually he’d begun to miss home, to miss the noisy Scotts, to miss Kelsey and her brain that never stopped."

"That had been a year before."

"That had been because Kelsey had called."
..............

“Fuck, Tan, what do you expect? We spent the summer fooling around and hiding things from my parents and my brothers while you promised me we were building something more, something permanent.” She shook her head, hair catching on the fabric of her seat. “I know we were young and both made mistakes and that I reacted to you leaving like a spoiled brat. But I’ve apologized for that, and it also doesn’t change the fact that”—another sigh, her voice dropping—“you said we were more—”

He’d said she was everything.

“—and then you just threw it away.” Threw her away.

“Yes, I was young and too fucking stupid to recognize exactly how good I had it. And”—he glanced in the mirror, changed lanes—“I was also a scaed asshole who panicked because I had it so good. My head was messed up, Kels. My teenage and college fantasies were about you, and yet I spent every day pretending to just be your brother.”
.............

“I didn’t need the reminder to think of you,” she admitted. “I’ve thought of you every single day since you left me.”It was as though he’d suddenly been prodded with electricity. Every muscle in his body went taut, and he rotated to face her. “What did you say?”

Oh shit.

She shook her head. “Forget it—”

He kissed her.

Yeah, he kissed her and it happened in the first day she saw him after 9 FUCKING years without an excuse. Yep, lack of originality to much here?🙄😒😒

No thanks, authors please, please stop writing pathetic, basically celibate heroine’s, and commitment shy, slutty, disloyal male leads! Stop perpetuating this behaviour is ok and romantic! It is not, it is toxic!

“Bad Boyfriend” obviously wasn’t a standout but it sorta kinda cute if you tilt your head and squint your eyes really, really hard. This second chance, older brother’s best friend (these tropes and more!) was a fast-paced romance that I have read time and time again and didn’t leave much of an impression. The storyline was unoriginal and over used, the characters were dull and downright pathetic, and everything else was pretty much forgettable and left little to nothing to rave about.

The last person Kelsey expected to be her brother's groomsman is her ex, Tanner. The man who took her virginity, then took off to travel around the world photographing whatever caught his fancy.

Tanner has been running for years, ever since his feelings for the sister of his best friend and brother from another mother, overwhelmed him and reminded him of everything he had to lose if he gave into those feelings. But now he's realizing just how empty his life has been and he wants to come home and be with the only people who've ever loved and accepted him. Will Kelsey ever forgive him for running? For shredding her heart?

Bad Boyfriend is a sweet second chance romance. I really liked Kelsey, her spirit, her sass, and her relationship with her family and friends. Tanner is equally sweet, just a bit oblivious, thank God he came to his senses. I think this is probably my favorite story of this series so far, and definitely my favorite couple in the Billionaire's Club.

My love for all things Elise started with this series, but not at the beginning. The first book I read was Bad Divorce and I liked it so much that I binge read the first four right after. Since then I’ve read a few more of her books but I’m not completely caught up. However, I’ve read enough to tell you that I don’t have to think when her name comes across, I just #oneclick.

Bad Boyfriend did not disappoint, as a matter a fact, it might be my favorite so far of this series. It was everything you’d want to read in a second chance to get it right journey. Kelsey and Tanner both were great characters to read. Their chemistry was sexy and emotional. Their growth was relatable and realistic. Their journey was heartfelt and just made me smile!

I really like this author and if you’re looking for relatable and realistic stories, you’re gonna like her also!

Kelsey and Tanner are a storm cloud of the heart. After a heartbreak that has never truly healed, love may not be in their future. Bad Boyfriend starts with angst and ends with understanding. Faber gives emotions quite a workout. From heartache to yearning and back again, the power of love proves to be captivating in the most heartwarming sort of way.

Bad Boyfriend is a short and sweet second chance romance that will make you swoon and laugh. Kelsey and Tanner are former lovers who broke up years ago, but fate brings them together again as a bridesmaid and groomsman at her brother’s wedding. They still have undeniable chemistry, but they also have unresolved issues and fears to overcome. Can they rekindle their love and trust each other again?

I enjoyed reading this book because it was fast-paced, witty, and steamy. The characters were realistic and relatable, and I loved their banter and interactions. The author did a great job of creating tension and drama, but also humor and heart. The ending was satisfying and sweet, and I liked how the epilogue wrapped up their story.

Kelsey gave her heart to her brothers best friend Tanner years before - but Tanner left it broken nine years ago when he left to pursue photography. Now he's in town for his best friends wedding - and there's nothing Kelsey can do or say without giving away what happened all those years ago.

The sparks fly between Tanner and Kelsey the moment they lay eyes on each other again. It's clear that both of them are still harboring a lot of emotions toward one another, but Tanner is so afraid of losing her that he's unwilling to take the risk.

Bad Boyfriend is a great second chance romance. I enjoyed the back stories of these characters shared, and the openness and honesty between them the moment they made the leap. This was a sweet love story with a long awaited happy ending, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Bad Boyfriend by Elise Faber is bk 7 in the Billionaire's Club series. This is Kelsey and Tanner's story.
What a great addition to the Billionaire's series. It's a 2nd chance at love romance. Tanner and Kelsey have history. Tanner is Kelsey's brother best friend. 9 years ago they had a short affair that they kept secret and it ended due to Tanner. They haven't seen each other since Tanner broke Kelsey's heart. Now they end up back in each other's lives 9 years later when Kelsey's brother gets married.
The chemistry between them is sensational, filled with the feels, steam and angst that will keep the reader engaged from start to finish. It's a pretty quick read. All to find out can they rekindle what was never extinguished.

My Rating: 4.3 stars *******

Bad Boyfriend is a fabulous second chance, brothers best friend romance. I couldn't put this one down. Elise Faber brings in another winner in Bad Boyfriend. I love Kelsey and Tanner. As you get to know Tanner more you understand why he ran. Kelsey is a delight and will have you giggling a little here and there. The one thing you can't deny is their chemistry. Kelsey and Tanner are hot. I love how Tanner proves he is not going to run anymore. You need to read this one.

A beautiful second chance romance about Kelsey who feel in love with her brother's best friend, Tanner. Tanner broke Kelsey's heart along time ago but, they never stopped loving, wanting and thinking of each other. Can they rekindle what they had or is it to late?

DNF. This is the third random book that I’ve picked up from this author and I’m quite disappointed that the material doesn’t change at all, just the character name….and not even their last name🙄. I mean this guy could be related to Luke from Bad Divorce. It’s always some girl, that gets dumped because “they were just too young” or the guy didn’t want to settle yet. Where the guy moves on with his life, having sex with a plethora of women, and then when he’s tired of playing the game and “feels like something is missing”, he remembers the ex who was like a cute puppy that followed his every move. And like the dumb idiot female characters this author likes to portray, she can’t move on and have a miserable love life till he comes back. He breathes on her and she just spreads her legs for him. That is pretty much the gist of all three books I’ve read.

I couldn’t even finish this book because of how easy and pathetic this girl was. Not only do you get rejected twice!! but she’s scrambling for any crumb of attention he’ll her. Girl, he left you for almost 10 yrs and you just welcome him in between your thighs on the first night?!! Seriously!! 10 yrs and she didn’t even have another relationship! And Girl needs to find new friends…cause they give shitty advice.

““It’s the typical tortured hero,” Heidi said, speaking of one of their favorite romance tropes. “Tough past. Scared of bringing that into the future, so he either lashes out to push the heroine away or he does everything in his power to keep his distance.”…….”What you need to decide,” Kate said, “is if he’s worth trying to force your way through the barricades and fire he’s going to put in your path.””

Reallyyyyy??? Why the hell would you need to do anything when he’s the one that fked up…TWICE! What you need to do is find a man to flirt with all while in his presence. Nothing lights a fire under a man’s ass like someone encroaching on what’s his. 🙄. But do any of these female leads EVER use this method…noooo. 😤 It just takes one kiss and they act like the past never happened. Pfft. Pftttt. Ok I’m done with my rant and this author.

Another relatively low key contemporary romance - most the conflict has already happened/happened off the page ... because the hero ran scared 9 years ago.
And you know what? I'm good with that - in fact the heroine's brother tells him "you weren't ready." Neither of them were, TBH

And the thing is - they kinda make it sound like a huge age difference... but it was only 3 years. Granted when you're kids 3 years is a gap... but even for kids not THAT huge.

For Kelsey, lil genius, however... yeah. I can't even imagine.

I quite liked Tanner - he'd fuck up, but he'd also fix it. He admitted his faults, and he's a good guy - especially once he gets his shit sorted. (Poor little lonely kid?)

Kelsey ... she's kinda all over the place but I guess also as the baby of her family and somewhat socially isolated, there is that too. She's not quite in the "girl group" of the series - but then again, I don't think the others/rest of the books are/will be because we were already stretching and now it's relatives - but it still works, because ... I mean, friend group? And it's not TOO/THAT ~incestuous- BY WHICH I MEAN it's not just all people in the same social circle dating.

As evinced by this book - I mean yes Tanner and Sebastian are/were good friends, but Tanner has also been running around the world for NINE YEARS.

I don't know if I'll re-read this book, but I'm not mad I read it.
Maybe second or third favorite even? Kinda middling I guess because book 1 is still my definite favorit, and I haven't read all the previous ones (yet) either...

Just ... nothing stood out as !!! <3 <3 <3
Also there were some typos and such - but it was a nice read and pretty much perfect for my mood/what's going on in the world - a lovely, realistic but not overly angsty wangsty romance.

Bad Boyfriend, book seven in the Billionaire’s Club series follows computer coder, and sister to Sebastian from book four, Kelsey Scott and photographer Tanner Pearson. When Sebastian asks his sister to be a bridesmaid at his wedding, she agrees, until she finds out that one of his groomsmen is brother’s best friend, and her secret ex boyfriend, Tanner. Tanner had been traveling the world for the past nine years, taking breathtaking photos and meeting new people, but even with all the excitement in his new life, he could never forget the one he left behind all those years ago. When Kelsey and Tanner are reunited, sparks fly once more, even though Kelsey wants to keep him from hurting her again. But what happens when they finally open themselves up to the idea of actually being a couple? After everything they have been through, can they really find love all over again?

“Bad Boyfriend was a fantastic second chance, brothers best friend romance. This was the kind of book you cannot put it down until the end. I absolutely adored Kelsey and Tanner. Their chemistry was something unique. Tanner, such a complicated man but as I got to know him I understood why he left. Kelsey is such a funny character! I loved them together! Maybe at first things weren’t meant to be but this time Tanner is not running away, Kelsey finally trust and their forever is about to start.”

Second chance romance novels are really not my thing, but I've read all the other books in the series, so... I'm really not a fan of Tanner, who ran away for years denying his feelings for Kelsey, and breaking her heart in the process.

3 stars as it was an OK story.. Basically what I was missing is a bit of a backbone for the heroine where she makes the hero really regret and work for reconciliation.. Not just accept and move on with him.. I wanted a bit of a drama that lead to appreciation.

I've been hooked on this series because all of the books take different forms of trauma and show how people can love or even love again. This one hit close to home, and I absolutely loved it. I related to Kelsey, and I've known people like Tanner.
