The Infernal Blade #1

Infernally Mine

Rate this book
I'm a killer and I'm good at it.

It's not something you can put on a resume or bring up during a date -- but we all have our secrets.

The visions I see at night are part of mine.

The Elders send me visions of my new targets -- chosen by them -- for me to kill. I don't determine if they are good or bad -- just that their fate is to die by my hand.

Questioning the Elders is suicide. I am just a monster for them to direct.

One night my vision features four sinfully yummy men. They seem to find me delicious as well.

When my life gets thrown into chaos, these men are the only ones I can trust.

What happens when I am not the monster I've always believed myself to be?

I went from being the killer to the target.

One thing is for sure, I don't plan on remaining anyone's prey.

Infernally Mine is the first book in a paranormal RH/#whychoose romance series with assassins, shifters, and a succubus. Intended for mature audiences (18+). Contains MM, foul language, and violence.

This is one of these books where you have the mention of sex every two sentences and how she is so "perfect" and "the most beautiful woman they have ever seen", while they are all beautiful muscular, arrogant and possessive.

Because of the mate bond, she has with her mates, it is insta lust. Everyone is accepting the bond they have and from there, they just want to have sex all the freaking time. Even after Mara spent three days without showering and relieving herself in a bucket.

It is just bothering me how the pure imagination and creativity needed in a fantasy book can be smashed or just replaced by sex and lust, and no depth or emotions whatsoever.

This was a great book about Mara and how she is an assassin for The I vernal Blade and how things go wrong and she is considered a rogue along with her mates. She has to save Rora and how that happens.

Ok I don’t think i have ready anything like this ever before like literally this is the polar opposite of slow burn in fact it could be described as Paranormal Porn as there is so much sizzle and sex but hey what would expect when the Female M/C is a Succubus.
That said there is still a lot of storey content with plenty of twists and turns and an intriguing plot which holds your interest from start to finish drawing you in so that the fast burn nature actually is quite refreshing and surprisingly none of it is repetitive. So after reading some YA and agonisingly Slow Slow burn this was definitely what teh Dr ordered.
The sizzling hot men are also interesting all damaged/broken as individuals but all amazing assassins so when they come together they form a deadly unit - what i love the most is that we have diverse and also unusual shifters in the mix as well.
Really enjoyable and definitely worth a read and so ready for book 2

A gripping read from the first page, Mara pulls me in, I could not help but feel for her and her inner pain. Well written with a great fresh storyline the writer embroils you into this world, Mara is a strong heroine who can take care of herself and I love the four men she finds on her journey. Plenty of action and drama and bags of steam and romance I am hooked and cannot wait for book two!

I loved the blurb, but the actual book was a slight down. Too much about the sex (yes, that's possible) and how awesome the guys are and how awesome it is too have mates. I would have preferred more actual plot development. The cliff hanger was a slight surprise, but I have clear idea on were I think the story is heading..

Wow! What a great book! Totally original story.

Jewels Arthur is such a fantastic writer. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The sexy times were steamy but not over the top, the characters were really relatable. And the world building made me feel like I was right there with the characters. Mara is a kickass character and her best friend Rorais one too. It was cool to see two strong female friends and characters in a book. Mara's guys, Declan, Everett, Evan and Amari all have their separate special place in my heart. I really like the direction the story seems to be heading I can't wait to read the next book to see if I am correct. This book has it all...I don't think that anyone would be disappointed with it. I highly recommend it.

Fun and dark RH, Book 1

We've got all the tropes and I'm here for it:
Supernatural creatures
Reverse Harem
Assassins
Secret organizations
Fated mates
Insta-love
Solid spice

Enjoyed the book. Easy fun read. The main character seemed to be able to bounce between moody angsty broken woman to bouncy girly girl in some scenes and it would throw me off.

Does end on a cliff hangers so if you don't like that be warned

I enjoyed this series. It's a reasonable medium/fast burn RH series with a good deal of 🌶️ especially in book 2 and 3.

I think the story line was interesting and refreshing enough for a RH.
Also liked the variety of different species of Shifters and supernatural species.

Looking forward to reading more from this author in this genre!

Wow

This book has some intense world-building. There are a few moments of being told rather than reading conversations but I still really enjoyed this book. It’s super steamy and OMG CLIFFHANGER ALERT 🚨

This is a fab RH read. Hot and steamy, dark and delicious and violent this is off to a fab start. Mara, our female Mc is a succubus and is strong and a total badass and is an assassin for the infernal blade. We then get introduced to what becomes her harem and they are hot and sexy as sin with chemistry that is off the charts. The storyline is exciting and full of intrigue, the world building draws you in and I look forward to reading more.

No one makes the decision to join the Infernal Blade on their own—they are invited. They are recruited after committing the act of murder and taking joy in it.

Mara and her friend Aurora are partying at the bar when Mara is spotted by two men. They both dance with her and then do shots at the bar. The next thing they all know is they've been drugged and kidnapped. The mystery of whom took them is not revealed before they are rescued by two strangers. They all discover they work for the same organization, but they are not sure of the purpose that brings them together. An awesome reverse harem with some unexpected events!

Gold! This book is gold. It is so dark and alluring that you can't stop reading it. The story just keeps pulling you in and the charecthers are so sexy and compelling you want to be there. The whole set is very realistic. Now I just want more. Jewels Arthur is the best, a great Author.

Oh. My. Gosh!

Who didn’t see that coming? Unfortunately, I did!! There’s something incredibly cool about being an assassin. I kinda want to be one. So much so, I should probably seek therapy to understand why that is. This is a great read and I can’t wait for the next book! My only real issue with it is fated mates. I don’t like the concept. Just see them and boom you’re in love. Forever and ever. Just once I’d like to see someone fight against the inevitable. But hey, that’s just me. This is a great book and I’m being a whiner!

Great cliff hanger!

Interesting characters brought together by fate?
A reverse harem with lots of steamy scenes along with a teasing storyline. In this first book we meet Mara and her four men who are brought together unconventionally. You learn the background of these main characters and what makes them who they are, along with a small amount of information on the elders. You fall in love then....a new twist happens followed by the cliff hanger. I can't help continuing onto the next book. I recommend picking up a copy for yourself. 😗😉

Storyline with a strong female character

This was a 4 star rating for me. Unfortunately, there were some things I didn't like that lost that extra star rating.

The storyline was a captivating one. I enjoyed the mystery and twists the author wrote for each of the plots. The main characters were mostly likeable.

I love reading stories with a strong female lead, especially if that female is a badass who can kick ass as well. The main female character, Mara, fits most of those mentioned. The male characters each had their own hardships in one way or another growing up. Each characters childhood was what got them noticed by the Elders and is the main reason they found each other. The author did a good job writing their characters, their interactions, dialogues, and chemistry or you can call it lust. I didn't even mind the insta-love moments, even if I prefer the relationship(s) to build over time and the characters to have more in common than just boning like teenagers every chance they get.

Now to what I didn't like. I did not see any reason for Mara to yell every time she starts a conversation or get on the phone. Then she's all sweet after that. I'm lost here...what was the point in writing a strong female character only to have her not even know how to communicate. Yelling as the first thing done during a call or talking is just childish, immature, and not becoming of someone in their twenties that's an assassin. The other thing I didn't like about Mara was that she was too emotional. She pretty much cries or tears up about everything after the first chapter or two. If I had to deal with someone who cries or tears up all the time, I would go nuts. I would most likely avoid that person. That is way too much emotional drama for me. The guys had their soft hearted tear felt moments as well while telling Mara their stories but thank goodness the author did not write them all emotional like Mara. I literally skimmed through when it was another scene of Mara crying and or tearing up.

The ending was kind of cryptic with the Elders as a cliffhanger. Interesting to see them as the epilogue.

Let's see what happens in the next book. I really do hope Mara's character is more becoming of an assassin than a hormonal teenager.

So I finally have read Infernally Mine and OMG why did I wait so long to read it. I loved it. I fell in love with Mara. She has had a rough upbringing. One night changes everything for her when she became an assassin for the Infernal Blade. She also finds out that she is a succubus. She thinks that her shifted form is ugly and if any man sees her in that form will run for the hills. She may be strong to do what she does but she still feels lonely. Well she finds out that the human guy she is with gets a girlfriend and it shocks her. Well she meets Declan and Everett at a club and they are super sexy. Then something happens. Everything goes crazy. Then Amari and Evan show up to help out and they are just as sexy as Declan and Everett. So now she is surrounded by four sexy as sin guys and very attracted to them. So what happens? Are they mates? Will she tell them about her and what she is? Why has she not received another contract? While they are trying to figure out what is going on they are getting to know each other. How does this end? Will they get the answers? This book was edgy, gripping and did not see that coming. I cannot wait to read the next book.

I had read this book back in August when it released but some reason my review didn't post. So, here it goes (again).

This book is a great start to the Infernal Blade Series. It captures the readers attention from the beginning. It is a paranormal reverse harem that packs a dark twisted heap of chemistry between the characters. The ending will leave you wanting more and I personally can't wait to see what happens next. Read to find out how one succubus female and her for men harem tackle what the Elders throw at them.

I usually read about 4 to 7 books at the same time. I like to have a RH going, a regular romance, a re-read of an old favorite, a suspense. . . basically I like to have multiple books for any mood going on my kindle at the same time.

This book is one of those rare cases where I didn't open any of my other books until this one was finished. I did take breaks from reading, which is why it got 4 stars instead of 5, but it was a really good and interesting book!

It's a bit dark since the characters are all assassins. That statement is not a complaint, but more of a FYI for those who may not enjoy books that have a touch of darkness. It's not heavily dark, though.

Basically, the main character is an assassin for a mysterious, magical group of Elders who give her visions to let her know who she needs to assassinate next. She had a tough childhood, so she lives a life that is basically in isolation from others. She really only has one good friend. She meets two interesting men at a club, and then

The ending was a surprise to me, and a cliffhanger. I do want to read the next book when it is available. The cliffhanger was one that I am okay with, because it just set up the plot for the next book rather than leaving me hanging on the plot for this book.
