Rev. Chris has such a beautiful and succinct way with words. This book was brilliant and is written in such a relatable way. If you are familiar with Rev. Chris either through his Instagram or via his appearances on YouTube, you will have read this book in his voice! He discusses modern everyday issues that are affecting us all in such a clear and direct way.

I have never read a Christian book like this, that discussed such hard topics mixed with personal experiences in such a great way, without coming across as patronising. Rev. Chris is great with words and has provided us all with a compact but mighty book about living like Christians in today's world. This book would also be a great introduction for non-Christians as it is filled with great life advice and values, that all kind and considerate humans should aim to live by.

You should read this book!!!

It was a lovely read. Rev’s writing was sweet and thoughtful and his imagery clear and concise. He broaches topics like grief and death in a kind and gentle way, and reminds all who read his book that they are irrevocably loved.

First, in true hipster fashion I followed Rev. Chris before he was known as “hot priest” (and that was a very weird thing to happen to a priest minding his own business). Rev. Chris is a man who understands his audience and who knows he has a difficult task. How do you share God’s truths to an public audience where many look to you as a spiritual leader, but don’t necessarily want to know your God? I think Rev. Chris’s book is a good example of one way how to.

In many ways this is a more of a counseling book than a religious one - in that there are general truths that you’d expect to find in almost any therapy session. The key difference is the way Rev. Chris shares how his personal relationship with Jesus really makes all the difference in how he responds. The chapters on prayer and death really stood out in this. For example; all religions encourage prayer, and even non-religious value meditation, so Rev Chris encourages everyone to start by praying or meditating in whatever way makes them comfortable. However, he then goes on to share why in Christianity, praying to a God we know loves us as we are and who desires to be communication with us is life-changing. In essence, Rev. Chris is saying that meditation is good and even at times necessary for us, but even better is a relationship with God.

Ultimately this isn’t a book that’s imploring people to accept Jesus as their Savior ASAP. I think that’s going to throw off many Christians who read this. Rather, I found this book to be a conversation between a man of faith and an audience of varying faiths. It encourages for all of us to practice compassion on ourselves while at the same time gently reminding us that there is a God who loves us and who values us. It’s a subtle but steady reminder of the “relentless love of God.” At the end of the day, that’s the core message all Christians want the world to hear.

Having seen Reverend Chris on YouTube and loved his gentle yet well thought out ways of dealing with atheistic views and difficult questions in general, I figured this might be an interesting read. It is well written and offers a lot of hopeful and truthful and thought inspiring information. However I feel that the title of this book is hugely misleading. I was expecting a series of short sermons, like a devotional type thing. Instead this book is a cross between an autobiography and some long chapters about various faith based issues. Not terrible, sometimes helpful. But I felt sometimes he wasn’t firm enough about his views, I didn’t agree with a few points here and there, and I honestly probably wouldn’t have chosen to read this if I’d have realised the book wasn’t what it appeared to be.

I love this book so much! It's so uplifting, positive, and it spreads God's message in such a beautiful way. Rev. Chris Lee does such a remarkable job representing the religion and showing such love and kindness in all of his words.

A beautifully written book with wise words for all, regardless of your own faith or if you are of no faith.

I took my time to read the chapters and reflect on them. So many key sentences worth reminding ourselves of when things are tough. I’ve sent many photos of paragraphs to friends and family when I’ve felt it is comforting or appropriate and gifted a few copies too. One to keep on the shelf and return to many times.

Nothing particularly special. The need that ‘influencers’ have these days to tell their story to the world results in a lot of books that all sound the same. Quick read, some decent enough material, but I think Reverend Chris should stick to writing sermons.
