Sometimes, the ones closest to you are the ones you should fear the most.
After surviving another face-off with Queen Sebille and discovering the truth about her past, December Thorne’s life has changed dramatically. With everyone now knowing and accepting what she truly is, and her new relationship with her mentor, her life takes a turn for the better. She finally has what she’s always wanted.
But when a new face arrives at Oberon Academy, things go horribly wrong. The newcomer spills secrets best kept under wraps and every bit of the happiness she’s fought so hard for is threatened.
But the troublemaker has secrets of his own.
It’s up to December to figure out what he’s up to and bring it to light, so she can reclaim the happy life she’d been building—and prove he’s not the good faery he’s pretending to be.
Wendi Wilson is a mother to two rambunctious boys, a fat black cat, two ferrets, and a pup named Izzy. She spends her time watching her boys play baseball and football, volunteering at school, reading and writing.
She enjoys reading YA paranormal romance, NA romance, and dystopian novels. Her first book, Shadowed Strength, is the culmination of 20+ years of work, a dream finally realized.
The third book in Wendi Wilson’s Oberon Academy series was just…wow. And I mean WOW. There are twist, turns, and the overall question of ‘What is going on with everyone?’ that gets explained in jaw-dropping fashion, making for page-turning late night reading. Be prepared to not sleep until you’ve finished it.
December is finally getting into a groove where life is good and things are going well. She has her father, her friends, and the perfect boyfriend in Easton, she’s even getting a better handle on her magic, but it’s not long before the shoe drops and everything gets turned upside down with the arrival of Puck. Now the whole school seems to be against her, even her best friend finds reasons to fight and push her away, but things aren’t always what they seem, and boy does Ms. Wilson deliver with an unexpected twist I did not see coming. I cannot wait for book 4 to see what happens next.
OMG this third book is just fantabulous! Well written once again I got totally lost in this story as the plot continues to thicken! The characters continue to grow, the storyline continues to twist and turn and chaos continues to reign! This series is a definite must read!
Amazing! This is such a wonderfully mesmerising series, I am a big fan 😀 This book keeps you on the edge of your seat with so many unexpected twists and turns, it is brilliant. Definitely worth reading.
Cheesy, quick, and fairly predictable in terms of ensuring a HEA/HFN. With that said, I found this third book to be the best so far. The third act “surprise” revelation was extra cheesy and very “perfect world” but still enjoyable.
December is shocked at the turn of events when a visit to the acadamy exposes secrets, and she is faced with having everything ripped away from her, but is everything as it seems? I couldn't believe the fall out after the dance, and it seemed like everyone had lost their mind! But keep reading things get explained and the twist to the story is fantastic and shocking! More deception is unveiled from right under their noses, and what a shocker, I really didn't see that coming, I can't wait to start book 4!
Ok I’m so ready for December to kick her grandmothers ass already lol this story just keeps getting better and I believe myself that she will be a better Queen and change the world next especially when her and Easton Unite! Ahhh there’s so much I can see happening I’m excited for book 4 already lol at least it comes out 19 days before my birthday lol Keep writing I love the world you created in this series!
I fell in love with Wendi Wilson after reading the Blood Persuasion series and I'm glad to say this series lives up to my expectations! Every book I read from her has me on the edge of my seat and up till 3am on a work night. I highly recommend her work!
A 5hr audiobook. This book was better then I was expecting, a decent twist near the end and made me laugh at least once. As far as teen romance goes I will leave others to judge weather this was worthy or not. I could see a tv series out of this one day.
The continuation of the Oberon Academy series picks up right where it left off, with December growing her relationship with her father. Considering that Cris was literally absent for the entirety of her childhood, he pulls off the parenting thing pretty well. Of course, nothing good stays good in December's life.
Before she knows it, Puck reveals Cris's identity, leading to him getting fired.
Honestly, my thoughts about this book are the same as they were for its predecessor - this really all could've been one book. While the story is interesting, instead of 4 really short books it should've been one average sized YA romantasy book.
Another great read! It genuinely surprises me that this series isn’t better know. Out of the three I’ve read so far, this one might even be my favorite. It’s still not perfect, but if anything, this series has shown me that books don’t need to be perfect in order to be great.
I was instantly intrigued as December’s reality starts falling apart, both showing off her character growth as well as adding much needed complexity to the plot. This book series has brought back a spark I had as a young reader, and it has reminded me of everything I loved about books as a teenager.
My one real complaint this far into the series is how easily the characters get over things! I would have loved to see more hurt in December for how her best friend treated her; no, it wasn’t her fault and December knew it from the start, but some horrible things were said that must have lingered despite that knowledge? Her relationship with Easton was also too cute and perfect for my liking, because while having the world’s most supportive boyfriend is great in theory, it seemed unrealistic that there were never any cracks, disagreements or disappointments. The unconditional love and support made the relationship feel superficial, somehow, but maybe that says more about me than about the story. I can add that I’m not into romance in general (in fiction or in real life), so it could definitely be a me problem.
The world building does start to feel somewhat limited, too..! Life at the Oberon Academy is very well written, but I’m struggling to visualize a world outside of the school building. Where does everyone who no longer attends the school live? What do they do? How do the adult Sylphs spend their days? What does their society look like? How do the Zephyrs live? So many questions, with very few hints or answers. It almost feels like there are no other Sylphs or Zephyrs than the ones we’ve gotten to know.
Despite these things, this book series has been a joy to read so far! The third book has many twists and turns, and while many (if not most) are predictable, there are a couple of surprises.
Can’t wait for book four and I’m crossing my fingers it’ll do the series justice.
This book is like late stage Harry Potter without the emotional depth or attachment to the world and characters. It's an easy read but the plot is a tad repetitive and the worldbuilding is rather lacklustre the ending certainly made up for a lot of it BUT the last book has got to do a damn good job to marry the battle in Book 2 with what may be.
Yes, I will read book 4 to see how this series ends.
Oh, and warning for readers... spicier than the previous entries, may not be suitable for the demographic of which this book belongs (especially upon reflection of knowing how the book ends).
Everything that PUCK did to destroy December is insane in this book. I felt so bad for her. Thankfully she had her dad, but now she knows who her grandmother is. That she is the next heir to the dark throne. She could be the change the world could be.
She lost Sheila. She lost Charles. It was tearing her apart.
Until PUCK comes out with some truths. He is December's grandfather. He knew where her mother was. He sent Chris after her. And he apparently wasn't there for the dark queen, he was there to be a double agent...or was he?
Puck is a wild card. I want to believe him but....
I am loving this series.

4.5⭐️, definitely. I love this whole story. I got that Shaela’s grandfather was using magic on her from the beginning, but I really did not expect him to be December’s grandfather, a half-good person and the whole twist at the end. I’m extremely happy for December and the fact she found both her mom and dad, who never really abandoned her. I’m excited to see how her life is going to change in book 4.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)
The Academy isn't a peaceful place, with rivalry amongst the various factors. This title sees more new players brought onto the scenes. With revelations about some already known characters and previously unknown history, is also revealed.
It's slightly unfair to read right now, as I'm also reading a book with a MC in her 30's who had a brilliant head on her shoulders. This MC is 17. She's not SUPPOSED to have a good head on her shoulders yet, but..... repeating dumb mistakes gets old to read. Perhaps my days of reading YA books have come to an end.
Finally getting to know who her parents are and how that will impact her life will change everything! Will the school be overrun? What will the queen do next to try to take over the rest of the world? Will the humans ever be free? Grabbing the next book to find out what happens next in this interesting fairy world of Wilsons.
Pain and anger seems to be the theme of this book. The different characters who are introduced are needed to expand the story and keep trepidation alive.
I have been caught up in this series since page 1 of the first book. I read a lot of books and this series, by far, is one of the most outstanding I have read in quite awhile.
My only complaint is the continued incorrect use of the word inferred when the correct word in those sentences would've been "implied". A good editor would not make that mistake which has been made in all the books of the series.
December's life is falling apart. Will she lose her friends. Will she ever figure out whats going on. What will happen once the truth comes out? Whats to happen next?
Holy cow!! That was super stressful, and more shocking surprises!! The character growth is making me fall in love with some of these characters more and more!! Especially December & Easton 😍😍!!
