Ethan Sullivan is a contract killer, and he’s good at his work. But killing for a living makes for a complicated existence, and it’s wearing on him. He’s decided to turn in his garrote and try to build a normal life. Whatever that means.
Honey Foster is a small-town girl, and happy with it. Even if all the men her age are married, and the dating pool is more like a puddle, and the only lover she’s had in the last several months requires batteries, she loves her life. She has her friends, her community, and her big, goofy dog to keep her warm at night. And that's enough, at least until Ethan comes along.
He’s hot and funny, and the air fairly crackles with sexual tension whenever they’re in the same room. But even though she knows he feels it too, he seems to go out of his way to get out of her way as quickly as possible. Because Ethan has resolved to stay uninvolved—after all, retired killers don’t get picket fences and happily ever afters.
Do they?
He’s trying to keep his distance, but he doesn’t realize in a town this small, he’s going to see her everywhere. Backyard barbeque? She’s there. Local tavern for a drink on Saturday night? She’s there. Pretty soon all that resolve dissolves, and suddenly that picket fence starts to feel like it’s in reach. But when the shadows of his past come calling, he’ll have to expose his secrets to deal with the danger. And Honey will have to decide if love is enough, and if a flawed, complicated man is worthy of redemption.
Honey and the Hitman is a romantic suspense with lots of laughs, heaps of sexy times, a goofy dog and a happily ever after. CW for some violence, deception, and off the page parental death.
Hannah has been reading romance novels since she was young enough to have to hide them from her mother, and decided to try her hand at writing one when she realized the book she really wanted to read lived in her head. When the story begins, you think you are in for a dark drama. What you get is a sweet sexy book with a few laughs. There is some drama and danger but it does not overshadow the story. Ethan, the hitman says it's time to hang up his guns. He leaves the streets of Philly and goes to small town America. The moment he gets there it's all things Honey. She is a fun, happy lady with confidence and determination. She gives as good as she gets. You will fall in love with Ethan, Honey, Milo and all their friends. I was pleasantly surprised with the story and how much I enjoyed the characters.

Ethan And Honey's Romance Is A Sweet And Sassy Story About A Hitman In Search Of A Life With Meaning, Who Unexpectedly Finds Love And Friendship As Well As Loyalty And Acceptance In A Tiny Quirky Beach Town.
Ethan Sullivan, thirty-four, finds himself annoyed and bored as he stakes out Stanley Morgan. After twelve years as a contract killer, the handsome and charming millionaire is ready to give it all up - the international travel, the expensive call girls, etc. He isn't happy. And although Stanley is a bad person and deserves what he has coming, like most of the jobs he accepts, Ethan can't keep going through the motions. His days are mostly long and lonely. He isn't connected to anyone or anything and he feels the absence of meaning in his life.
When Ethan walks away and decides to start fresh, he goes home to the only family he has left - his doting and quirky Aunt Winnie. She lives in Sweetwater, Michigan, a tiny beach town that lies on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, where gossip spreads like wild fire and nothing is private. He plans to spend the summer with his aunt, quietly biding his time until he knows what he wants for himself and how he wants to spend the remaining years of his life. What he doesn't expect when he enters his aunt's home is to find a strange woman, or for said strange woman to throw a bowl of sugar at his head.
Honoria Frances Foster - or Honey - has lived in Sweetwater since inheriting her grandmother's house three years ago. The sassy twenty-nine year old blonde beauty teaches art at the local middle school as well as the community center. The love of her life is her 175 pound dog, Milo. There is no real dating scene locally since nearly everyone her age is married already, but Honey is always happy and sociable. Her girlfriends keep her busy outside of work and volunteering. They sometimes attempt to set her up with a date, but that never quite works out for long. Honey hasn't been in an actual relationship for five years.
When Honey borrows some sugar from her neighbor, she is stunned when a strange man enters the home. She is even more stunned at the feelings he evokes when he tackles her to the floor. Ethan is attracted to his aunt's neighbor, but Honey is a dangerous distraction. He isn't ready for a relationship. He first needs to spend a quiet summer figuring out what he wants from life.
Ethan and Honey may have instant chemistry, but they spend a good deal of time fighting it, leading to some great tension and funny scenes. Just when things begin to take shape, an Italian job from Ethan's past pops up as Michael O'Shae, Ethan's only friend from his old life, reaches out to him. Ethan must juggle his old and new lives, and pray his new life isn't destroyed in the process.
Ethan and Honey's story is a sweet story of acceptance and new beginnings. More than a love story, it is about a gossipy little town that takes in a newly reformed hitman, offering him all the things he needs - love, family, friendship, and an honest occupation that makes him feel good about himself at the end of the day. Ethan and Honey earn their rather brief but satisfying HFN.
A few things may bother some readers. *Spoilers* First, Ethan comes across as very weak when he reluctantly accepts a job from Jacob. It is explained later, but the moment remains weak coming from a hitman. Next, it is difficult in the beginning to reconcile Ethan the quiet and reserved hit man with Ethan the nephew - who is much more talkative, affectionate, and expressive with his aunt and others than I would have expected so soon after retirement. Third, in a town that gossips, it is odd that news of two goons hanging out with Michael and Ethan hadn't become a scandal, and hard to believe nobody witnessed any of the activity at Winnie's and Honey's houses that eventful night. Finally, it is not clear if Ethan plans on sharing with the inner circle more than he did with the guys, since he only held back at David's suggestion. It feels a bit wrong for him to tell so many the complete truth. He could have worked a reasonable amount of truth into his financial planner backstory and therefore shared without putting others in as much potential risk. He puts Honey and their future children at the most risk by letting the truth out, so it isn't a great thing to be righteous about, as good as it might feel to get it off his chest. He is simply sharing the burden.
Ethan and Honey's romance is a sweet and sassy story about a hitman in search of a life with meaning, who unexpectedly finds love and friendship as well as loyalty and acceptance in a tiny quirky beach town. The book is well-written. The plot is complex. The characters are nicely done. Ethan's character is deep and well-defined. The story is mostly his, and he is endearing in his search for more. Honey's character isn't as defined, yet she is fresh and sassy and lovable all the same. Since the story mostly belongs to Ethan, it works. The cast of characters is great. Seeing real friendships form is nearly as rewarding as Ethan and Honey's story. The book is written in the third person and the POV alternates between Ethan and Honey, though it is predominantly Ethan's POV. I rate this book four stars.

This was a lovely and different romance novel. Whilst there is a good, strong central romance there is also a lot of focus on friendship and personal development, which made for an interesting read.
Ethan is the main narrator and character of this book. He was a really great character. His development over the course of the novel as he came to accept love, friendship and joy as part of his life was lovely to read. He was also amusing and protective and sexy. Honey was a nice contrast to him - very sweet but with a fierce temper. I liked her innocence in contrast to him, as well.
Their relationship was really good - they had some lovely, sweet, romantic moments together, but also some very hot ones. The sex scenes in this book are very well-written. They also talk to each other in a way that I really liked.
I also appreciated that
Finally on their relationship specifically -
I also thought the background characters were really strong. I loved Ethan’s relationship with Winnie, which was so sweet, and Jacob was a nice, steady figure. His friendships with David and Seth worked really well for me and I liked the scenes of them talking to him. I’d take books with David and Seth as leads - I went back through Hannah Murray’s books to see if there was one because David especially read as a past main character, but I was sad to find that’s not the case. I also liked Michael - I liked how supportive he was throughout.
Milo is one of my favourite pets in a romance book.
Finally - one of my favourite aspects of this book was all of the scenes of Ethan adjusting to civilian life, whether it’s through food, flipping houses, attending cookouts, looking after his friends’ children, or simply growing to love walking with bare feet. I thought the care and attention given to Ethan’s growth and redemption was really nice to see - the story didn’t really grapple with the darker side of his psyche, but you really did get to see him heal from his past in a way that I found quite touching.
As much as I loved the majority of this book, I did have a couple of gripes. Firstly,
The major thing, though, was the pacing.
Despite all this, it’s a good book with an interesting plotline. I really loved Ethan’s growth over the course of the book and all of the relationships he develops. The central romance is good when it gets going, but it did take a while to get to that stage, which lessened my enjoyment of the book as a whole.
I would recommend it if you want a small-town romance with an ex-hitman hero going on a redemption arc as he falls in love with a sunshiney teacher.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Once I started I could not put the book down from start to finish you just could not get enough with twists and turns hot and steamy like a rollercoaster ride of emotions that makes you want more with Honey loves her life in a small town wanted to meet a man that she could spend her life with, then she met Ethan he makes her laugh. Ethan is a Hitman Who is wanting to give up his job and have a normal life. Can he have a normal life? Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

Honey and the Hitman by Hannah Murray has been on my TBR list for a little while now, and I finally got around to reading it. Once I started, my only thought was “Why did I ever wait to read this book?” It has a little bit of everything – murder, suspense, romance, and most importantly, humor that had me laughing out loud.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this book at first. The prologue is pretty dark, but I was laughing out loud just a few pages into chapter 1. As someone who has never lived in a small town, I absolutely loved the feeling of community that was conveyed in the pages of this story. Sweetwater is the perfect depiction of small town USA, where everyone knows everyone else, people smile and wave, no one locks their doors, and there are few (if any) secrets. I couldn’t help but laugh at how quickly the town played matchmaker. And when I say the town, it’s because slowly but surely, everyone in the town got in on the game.
I’m just getting into reading romances, after having read some particularly heinous ones in my younger days, but I love the way that romances are no longer poor excuses to string together sex scenes between the damsel in distress and the rugged hero. Let’s get this straight – Ethan is a rugged hero, but Honey is no damsel in distress. She’s a smart, tough, independent woman who can hold her own and has a community of people who adore her. But more importantly, the plot wasn’t just about sex. There was suspense, action, and an actual plot. Sure, the sex scenes were hot, but the book itself was astoundingly well written, and the sex was just the frosting on the cookies. (Read the book … you’ll get the reference within the first chapter). This is definitely worth the time to read.
It took a while for me to get into this story, but the second half is a vast improvement over the first. Featuring a newly retired hitman and an art teacher, this book has a little of everything - suspense, steam, humor, and heart.
The story follows Ethan, a hitman who has gotten burned out after years of working in his trade. He goes to stay with his aunt in her small town for a while while he decides what direction he wants to take his life, and meets Honey as soon as he arrives. She is definitely not the type of woman he sees a retired hitman with, but the attraction is instant. Where Ethan has had to live mostly in isolation and has guarded his secrets, Honey is bubbly and open, deeply rooted in her community. Ethan tries to resist his attraction at first, but things come to a head in a big way and suddenly he’s leading a life he never pictured for himself.
I’ll be honest and say that the book did not win me over right away. There is WAY too much tell instead of show, especially at the start. Once Ethan and Honey got together the book improved greatly with significantly more dialogue and some serious chemistry between the two. It’s definitely a sex-based relationship; we don’t get to see these two interact much unless it’s between the sheets (with some extremely explicit sex). I could definitely feel the intense connection between them, and I was surprised how easy it was to like Ethan despite his past. Overall, I see potential in this author’s writing but wish the whole book was as entertaining as the second half.

Ethan had decided that at the age of thirty-five to find something else to do with his life, he wanted a connection with people instead of watching hi back all the time. His first step was to spend time with his only living relative. his Aunt Willie and take it from there. Before he knew it she had him hooked up with a job in construction and her next job was to find a good woman for him. He agreed to the job but would find his own woman when he was ready. Before long he had people he called friends and a job he enjoyed. Honey was a close neighbour of his Aunt and even though he was attracted to her he was not ready for a relationship. When he found out that his cold shoulder made her think he hated her, he knew he had to do something to change her mind. Honey was distant with him when he tried to explain and spitting mad at the same time. Before they knew what was happening they were in each others arms, kissing as if their life depended on it. They relationship was soon all over town and their friends were happy for them. Then a spectre from his past came gunning for him and he knew he would protect her with his life. There was much more to their story before these two lover are able to commit to forever but you will have to read the book to find out. I read this book cover to cover in one sitting, the story line was fast moving and the characters engaging and the ending dramatic and life threatening.

Ethan is a hitman that takes out the scum of the earth at thirty four he is starting to think where his life is going to take him. When he met Honey he doesn’t know what to think about her but laugh.
Their first meeting was hilarious. Honey is his aunts next door neighbor. Honey is an art teacher and is very small town girl. Ethan tried to keep his distance but that doesn’t work because in this small town everyone knows everyone and with his past it could me harm done to Honey and he tries his very best to avoid her.
This story is about one hitman who changes his life to become better and a small town girl who doesn’t mind his past. I voluntarily received an arc copy through Booksprout for my honest review.
This book is about a contract killer (Ethan) who decides to give up killing but his past comes back to threaten him. He falls in love with a small town girl who is an art teacher (Honey). The book, unfortunately, is mostly about their growing relationship. Unfortunate because I personally love the suspense part best in romantic suspense books so I was a little disappointed in the small amount of action in the story for a good while. Yet when the action begins then, oh boy, there is a lot of it! So I'm sure readers will enjoy this book.

This is an interesting story with Ethan wanting a different life then being a hitman meeting Honey ,a close neighbor of his aunt Willie. He starts out trying to keep a distance but quickly changes to a steamy romance. Until his past catches up to him. This is a well written book with detailed scenes and had me glued to the pages from beginning to end. I loved and highly recommend this book.

Good and hot Very good romance about a "retired" hitman, Ethan, who for the start of his new life is going to see his aunt and is attracted by her neighbor, Honey. But his hit-kitman past catches up with him, and Ethan has to face up to protect the small community. The story is good, very hot, but the evolution of the plot is quite predictable. Really enjoyed this one a lot. She was no nonsense about something's while he was very regimented show no feelings. Match made in heaven. They worked despite their individual quirks. I was happy to see that he opened up to her about how he felt about her. She was overly sensitive and needed that reassurance.

Can a retired hitman and an art teacher have a future together? Honey and Ethan have instant chemistry but his past could keep them apart. This story has well-developed characters and a great storyline about redemption, secrets, and steamy romance.
