Really fun series

Start reading these books early in the day or you will be reading late and miss sleep. These are fun, but they suck you in and want to read more. Luckily it is a series so you have more to read. Really enjoying the series so far, on to book 5. I recommend it.

Awesome book in an awesome series. I hope the MC is able to stay in the Adventurer's Guild.

Book 4 of The Realm Between. Loved it and continue to love the series. The warnings are the usual language, alcohol use, and adult themes. I loved that we continue to see an everydayness to the fantasy world. The blend adds to the realism and keeps me moving forward. Despite the title the bulk of this book is not about the magic school but more adventure and monster killing. Old favorites are back and we continue to see growth of all our favorite characters. Jump in and enjoy this one.

Another entry in the series

You know the series by now or you wouldn't be here.

In this book we find out about Janine, who is someone from Earth. We get her story and some questing with her. Azure levels up some magic. He gains some things, loses others. Not a whole lot to say here, it wasn't a particularly exciting sequel but nothing too bad either. Hopefully the next will be better.

Definitely worth a read

I really enjoyed this one. Azure/Will learning magic and doing the quests for them was fun to read. His relationship with his companions is good fun too, although Uden is an a$$ and his brother is also one but in a different way. I'm glad he's found Janine. I was starting to think he was going to forget about Earth and getting home. Hopefully she'll keep him more focused.

Not bad, but somewhat irritating

The story isn’t bad, but it’s not well edited (if it’s edited at all). The author has the really irritating habit of misusing “gave pause” (and “gave” pretty much everything, instead of just using the regular past tense)— God forbid they should just write “paused”! — irritating verbal tick. That and they love to throw in jargon.

Also, muscle fatigue isn’t atrophy! I had to get that off my chest.

This series is starting to pick up a bit. I def liked this volume more than the first 3, but I'm realizing I don't like the party. All their individual goals are misaligned, and they have friendly but begrudging friendships. Uden is just garbage and will be their ruin, I'm sure. I still need more out of game story, the prologues aren't enough. Also, the NPC's need to start asking obvious questions and put some pressure on PC's. 👍🏾👍🏾

Consistently well written.
Consistently well-paced.
Consistently engaging plot.
Consistently decent world-building.
Consistently life-like characters.

In short, consistently excellent.
And that, folks, is high praise in the LitRPG world.

More of the same

I liked the previous books and this is more of the same. Each book kind of has its own arc but it’s really one long story about the MC and his experiences. That’s fine.

Good read

I enjoyed the book. Interesting characters and an interesting story. It was not predictable. I do want to see what happens to Azure and Janine next, if they complete their quest...

Magic school that doesn't have hardly any classes or interactions between students and faculty. School has library which students hardly use. Whole purpose of the school is to dole out spell scrolls and give out quests without any rewards and ends up costing students more than the semester.

This book was a bit slower and the title didn’t exactly match the book. But gonna stick it out for next book

Alert

I hate trying to write reviews because there are really only pass/fail results for me. Did I make it all the way through? Yes? 5 stars. No? There would be nothing here to read. In all fairness, if an author holds my attention from page one to the end, they’ve done their job. Anything less than 5 stars is petty criticism from someone incapable of even doing the job let alone doing a better one.

So in respect for the author and their work, I am going to start pasting this along with a generic review I found somewhere. “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”

Cheers

Worst hero ever.

Azure is an idiot and continually makes the most ridiculous choices. There's no payoff, over and over. I get that he's literally suffering from brain damage and this game is supposed to be helping him heal... Maybe, someday. But while there're character growth in the sense that he learns spells and abilities, there's no apparent personal growth. He just makes mistake after mistake to the point that this is painful to read. I give up.

Good—But Foul Language Ruins

I love the premise behind these books. She has a great capability to write well. Yet, she will throw in foul language that, from a reader’s perspective, does not add anything to the story and serves to take away from the storyline. Not sure why many of the younger writers seem bent on adding foul language into dialogue when it serves no purpose.
Good storyline, Ms. Grey, yet the language needs cleaning up and you will appeal to all audiences.

Good read

It only took me a few hours total time but it was miserly satisfying. I actually enjoyed the grinding and the go back to level at the good exp points. But I’m confused why he let himself get killed. It was a dissatisfying death like it was just to kill him and bring some tragedy. Oh and uden is annoying.

Decent read...bit shallow

Decent read. Bit shallow but better than some I have read. Book 4 wasn't as good as 1 - 3
