Lunchtime Chronicles: Drunch was written by USA Today Bestselling & Multi-Award Winning Author Xyla Turner
Ian: She comes into my Urgent Care facility sick as a dog, thinking that we need to make her feel better when she didn't even have the time to get the flu shot. I have no tolerance for her lack of planning and I had no problem with letting her know.
Ivory: I don't want breakfast, lunch or dinner and especially #Drunch. I just want to get rid of the chills, aches, and pains that are terrorizing my body. But, why is this doctor hassling me?
This is an IR novella in the Lunchtime Chronicles Serial with Siera London, Reana Malori, Brooklyn Knight, and L. Loren.
Xyla Turner was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She has always been a writer, even as a teenager, she wrote short stories and essays that won awards and nation-wide competitions. Xyla is an avid reader of romance novels and a sucker for sassy females and dominant males. She is a lifelong learner, High School Vice-Principal and a pretty good Auntie. Outside of reading, Xyla likes to spend time with her family and friends, experiment with dangerous adventures and travel. She writes different genres, but her favorite is romance.
Another sweet and steamy insta-love story. Perfect length for lunch break or late night read on the days that you work through lunch. Ian has a bark, Ivory is determined, very well matched.
The book was a fun, quick read with no major drama. I just wish I knew more about what both of them look like, where Ivory came from and her hopes and dreams. She said people took advantage of her before so what’s the story? How come she has no friends and why did she end up in Philly? This was clearly just the beginning of their relationship so I would love to read about how it developed. Maybe a longer book?
Doctor Ian is a stickler when comes to health and getting vaccinated. Ivory Nash is an orphan who moved to Philadelphia after leaving Maryland. Ivory went to Doctor Ian clinic because she was sick with the flu and Doctor Ian got on to her because she did not take the flu shot. After a week of helping Ivory get well from the flu, Ian got sick with a cold and Ivory nursed him back to health. After nursing Ian back to health, they started dating but Ivory was keeping a secret from Ian, that pissed him off because he found out about the secret on his own. Ivory apologized to Ian for not telling him about the secret and promise to never keep anything from him again.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Ian and Ivory!!! They are both hot temper and blunt. This was a great short story and I wish there was more. Ms. Xyla Turner always produce great novels and I absolutely love her work. This is a must read!!!
I only give this book 3 stars b/c the lead male, Dr. Ian, was interesting and hot. His character was written pretty well, although missing details, probably the best part of the book. The lead female , Ivory/Ivey, was quirky and not in a good way. The cursing in the book was out of place, especially during the awkward comments made in the sex scenes, which lacked description/proper details and enough imagination to warrant the scenes at all. So much potential lost…
First of all, the story ends at 65%; the rest is previews. The storyline was interesting and unique but I could not connect with the characters. They just seemed weird and out of place. Like they should have been reading along with me, not in the story. And the small bit of drama was more of a you're kidding moment, rather than actual drama. I get that it's a short story but I would have preferred a little longer story with more developed characters and real drama.
This was a smooth 2.5 stars. There were some weird stuff happening in this book. I didn't understand how Ian asking about Ivory's plans for the following week became an argument. At one point, after Ivory spends the night over at Ian's, she literally thought it was all a dream? And why was Ivory singing at the club had to be such a secret? The story had Xyla's signature acid tongued hero and steamy love scenes, but it tried to pack a lot into a few paragraphs and left a lot of loose ends.
Dr. Ian Crain had a thing about people not getting the flu vaccine. So when sexy and flu sick Ivory Nash showed up at his clinic sick and alone, he was drawn to her. He had the urge to take care of her. She returned the favor when he caught a cold. This time, they explored where their relationship could go until she held out on him. She had a secret. This little hiccup almost ended things. She tried to explain but he would not listen. His trust had been broken until she finally did what she had to do and that was to bring him "drunch".
This was a quick easy read. Ivory was sassy and forthcoming with the doctor who was used to docile women. Docile did not describe Ivory at all. She did not hesitate to stand toe to toe with the good doctor and he found that sexy. This was an enjoyable read.
Dr. Ian Crain encountered one of the types of patients he absolutely has no patience with! Ivory not having taken the much touted flu shot found herself shivering, coughing, sneezing and fearing to take time off lest she lose her waitressing job. Ivory Nash was called finally in the urgent care facility by the handsome Dr. Crain who owned the facility and she was not about to take any smack from the doctor who was fine as all get out and pretty soon bantering with each other, him looking out for Ivory while she was sick led to a complete love match. Yes there were obstacles along the way but such is life. I liked this Novella very much.
Ian and Ivory are such a mess. Two peas in the same pod, in a sense. Ian was over the top with his stance on the flu shot and his lack of compassion for those who refuse to get one. Ivory was a force to be reckoned with when she was sick. I felt for her at the very beginning because that situation with the machine rubbed me wrong too!! The characters were relateable and gave me just what I needed to pass the time. This adult read may not be realistic(like who brings soup and crackers to a stranger these days), but it was still an entertaining read.
Drunch! Cute read. Dr. Ian played no games about getting to Ivory. Her sassiness was sexy to him, and he inserted himself into her world. Ivory, all alone in the world, didn't know what to think of this doctor, who wanted to care for her outside the clinic. They fell hard and fast over drunch. (Lunch that you drink). So clever! We need more of this couple. No feel they have a lot more to say. Good job. 👍👍
Well this was good. The wouldn’t mind a house call. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a short story or what but I’ve kinda noticed that a lot of these stories give a characteristic that turns out to be totally irrelevant or ends up being a complete contradiction. Anyways this is a good rebound from the previous book so I’ll get going in the series!
Hey, make sure you get your flu shot, or Dr Crain will be Dr As*H***!! Well, that’s what happened to Ms Ivory, she went to the urgent care sick and how dare she didn’t get her flu shot!! 🤧 Anyway, find out what happened when these two strong wills and stubborn meet... sweet read!
I fell in love with Ivory and Ian!! They were a cute couple and the chemistry was thru the roof. I loved Ian's no nonsense attitude and his outlook of how things should be done. Ivory was sweet and fierce and very independent. Together these 2 found a happiness with each other and also a balance with the other. It was a fun story and one I really enjoyed
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed Ivory and Ian journey to love! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between them! Such a fantastic book!
Drunch by Xyla Turner gave me everything that i needed for quick satisfying read. Great strong characters, hot chemistry, and an unexpected storyline. I loved Ian and Ivory's story. I recommend Xyla Turner's books to any and everyone.
This was a cute quick read. Ian has a patient that turns him on as much as she makes him mad. Ivory does take Ian’s crap and will put him in his place if necessary. I liked their story.
Pleasantly surprised at this unconventional and delightful hookup.☺ Ok..yes it's Dr./ Patient but not in a creepy way. Ian & Ivory had me chuckling start to finish....Good one.👍
I loved it again not in order but who cares ill read them all no matter what ian and ivory what good and enjoyable I like assemble men by theh love the hardest when they fun true love 😍😍
This one was short and sweet. I liked both Characters and hope they make it. It appears Ivory has significant talent. Hipefulky she pursues it. Doc is a cute and needs to get himself settled with Ivory.
Love this story of finding and keeping happiness. Being alone and having no one to trust to letting your guards down to find happiness and love. This book had me wishing there was more. Great book!!
I liked the plot but Ian's reaction really threw me!! He blocked her and ignored her for a couple of weeks?! No explanation allowed? Ugh annoying. Everything else was fine.
This doctor took it upon himself to take care of a patient whom he had an issue with cause she didn't get the flu shot? Then she was hiding her talent? Why couldn't she just tell him. Yeah, like I said. It was okay.
Ivy with fire. Ian ready to spit the need of flu vaccines. I was there for them until the last chapter. Something fell off because I felt lost at why he was so mad at Ivy.
I really enjoyed this book it was cute and with the right amount if spice. It was short and sweet. I recommend it go out and get it you won't be disappointed.
