Urban Explorers love the excitement of 'exploring' long-abandoned buildings, searching for mysteries in the dark, empty places. But when one such explorer takes a solo tour of a decaying mansion near Cherringham, he discovers that some houses can turn fatal. Just a careless accident? His friends don't believe so and call on Jack and Sarah to investigate. And before long it's clear that the past can harbour deadly secrets that nobody is safe from...
Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.
The 37th novella I've read about Sarah and Jack and I've loved every one of them. This was about 4 ubexers, for those of you who don't know, which I didn't until I read this novella, it's people who go looking searching around haunted houses, deserted military bases, deserted hospitals, and like that. This one was about one of the ubexers getting killed in a house that was left as if the owners just disappeared. It was a good story.
No romance and no swearing.
As for the narration: Neil Dudgeon does such a fabulous job on these stories.
I am hooked on this series. The cases have never repeated, so each one is its own tangle. The characters are interesting and some downright quirky. Hope the authors keep this going and I look forward to how they get Sarah and Jack together, or maybe not.
This wasn't the best Jack and Sarah story, but it was still a good read. I have all these books on Audible as well and really enjoy Neil Dudgeon's way of reading them. I'm still on the fence re Jack and Sarah's relationship. I'm not sure whether I want things to stay as they are or move on. Whichever, I just hope they go on solving crime in Cherringham.
#CherringhamDasvergesseneHaus #NetGalleyDE
I have read all of the books so far and have enjoyed each one. They just seem addictive , the characters are so very real. I just wish each book came out faster as I find them a quick but interesting read. I have gotten so that I like the shorter books as they move faster and have less of the endless description of boring facts
Interesting but I thought that the ending was unnecessarily dramatic. Chloe was not in any danger. Luke/Jimmy had no reason to attack or kill anyone.... Unless confronted. Sarah and Jack created an unnecessary situation. If they had waited until after the memorial, then no need to 'save' Chloe. Silly writers

With each story we get closer to a hopeful inevitability. Jack and Sarah with Cole and Daniel a family unit. If it works for the Midworth couple why not in Cherringham.
Lukijana Neil Dudgeon.
There is only one more available on Audible! I hope the authors aren’t done with this series because I absolutely LOVE Cherringham! This was another fantastic edition and because I’m listening to them with Audible I can tell you how much I appreciate the way Neil Dudgeon narrates! Dreamy!
I'm going to miss listening to Cherringham stories. By episode 37, they are often a bit formulaic, but still a perfect distraction while doing chores. My library had to cut expenses and the Hoopla app was one of the things to go.
A good book to listen too when you clean the house. It gives you ”Midsomer murders” wibes. It is fun to try to figure out how the guilty person is. Jack is a retired cop from US, Sarah is a singel mom and they solves crime together. This one was about a murder.
