Dimitri King is a killer … and an addict. Born into one of the most ruthless motorcycle clubs that ever ran the streets of St Louis, the only life he has ever known is destroying him from the inside out. A lifetime of trauma, bad decisions, and heinous violence has left him on the brink of complete disaster, but one mission will change everything.

Annalise Hale, daughter of Senator Ronald Hale, is the prima ballerina of the St. Louis Ballet. The picture-perfect trophy from afar, her life is a delicate facade that hides unspeakable pain.

All she wanted was to escape.

She never dreamed of this.

Blameless in her father’s crimes, she is caught up like an exquisite pawn when the Sinners take her. Face-to-face with Dimitri King, like two sides of the same broken mirror, they have scars so deep, pain is the only feeling they know.

A match made in heaven but forged in hell, will they find their wounds fit together to create something beautiful or will the sins of their pasts be too great to overcome?

KR teaser 7 (1)

KR teaser 1 (1)

King's Ransom was my first experience with these authors.
A collaboration that as a book did work, it flowed seamlessly and it certainly wasn't apparent to me that this had been written by two separate individuals.
It was well written and I did enjoy myself but there was just something missing slightly.
So this was a story of two broken individuals that find each other in some very difficult circumstances and though are two main characters here seem poles apart in life and experience there actually more alike than they first think.
Both answer solely to outside expectations and though their coping mechanisms tend to differ slightly one dance the other drink and drugs there overall core experiences have left them missing a piece of themselves.
This is the story of Annalise and Dimitri, the former a prima ballerina with the St Louis Ballet and the Latter a member of a notorious MC gang The South Side Sinners.
This pair's destinies collide when Annalise gets caught in the crosshairs between The Sinners and her corrupt father Senator Hale.
with her father owing the Sinners a debt they take Annalise as collateral and Dimitri makes it his mission to keep Annalise who he sees as an innocent safe from others in his MC who would do her harm.
Now I love a good MC romance me but I think my main complaint with this one was that through the beginning and end were relatively fast-moving the main chunk of this in the middle seemed quite slow.
Not much happened but a whole lot of talking and I did get a tad bored because of this.
There was also for me, not enough romance between our two mains and while I don't mind a slow burn there just wasn't really any sexy times here for me to sink my teeth into.
Also, the last few chapters here left me slightly sceptical as in Annalise metamorphosing into Annie Oakley despite never even picking up a gun before.
I also didn't like how the abuse she suffered was never verbally discussed with Dimitri I felt there should have been at least a few words between the two discussing these events.
So despite the MC setting, this is not a dark romance, the romance side of things here is actually very sweet indeed and is quite heartfelt with a lot of verbal emotion.
This is more what I would describe as Romantic suspense with some dark elements.
The dark being the subject matter dealt with here and all the death and Mayhem involved and there's a lot of that.
So on reflection, this though not a full-house for me still had far more positives than negatives overall and I did find it an enjoyable experience.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of King's Ransom.

2.5 'eh' stars.

This wasn't bad, per say, but this had almost all of your basic bitch ingredients for a dark romance. Many spoilers ahead, FYI.

Books like this are so hard to review because my main problem is so hard to explain, so here goes;

The Hero: his mom died when he was a baby and his dad turned into a drunk and a neglectful father who was the leader of an Motorcycle gang. As the H grows up, he turns into a massive partier and a slut thats strung out on cocaine and alcohol. But somehow still has abs.... got it.

The heroine: emotionally abused by her mother and raped by her father since she was 9 years old. Is extremely sheltered, doesnt have any friends or any positive relationship in her life.

So you tell me; who's drama is worse? If you guessed the heroine, than that is CORRECT!

So whyyyyyyyyyyy was almost all of the book about the hero's "woe-is-me" sob story. Anyone starting to get my problem with this book yet? To top it off, the heroine is the one to sacrifice herself to save the hero.

How about we stop using the rape trope as an excuse to make the heroine meek and vulnerable. How about we stop using rape as a way to make a shitty hero seem even a little bit like good guy?! And how about we stop pushing it under the rug for the entire story instead of dealing with it?!?

Safety details:
not safe- safe with exception depending on preferences
Heroine is raped and abused by her father for 10 years. Not on page. Has no other sexual experience.
Hero is your typical fictional biker. Before he meets the heroine, he's getting out of bed with another random hookup
Drug abuse.
No OW drama.
OM in the MC club is trying to rape the heroine.
No seperation.
There are no sex scenes in this book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Gosh, full on action story, intense and highly suspenseful edge of your seat and hold your breathe read. Emotional in so many ways. This book once you start you do not want to put it down, from one issue to another it doesn't stop, at times you think there will never be any survivors at the end of it. I was pulled in deep my heart racing and mouth dry at points during the plot. It isn't an easy read the violence is graphic and in many ways romance isn't a focus but more of a "it had to happen", it is about struggle and a fight for survival. Second chances. For one character especially this is live or die, from struggle, abuse and never having the love that should have been automatic, to just wanting to escape the pain of life. To then going full circle and having something worth doing anything and everything in their power to save. A story full of darkness with a small splattering of light in the middle before the dark descends again, leaving you wondering if the light will ever pop up again. It is a deep fast paced plot and written so well I was just engulfed into it, lost to my reading until I finished it and then because of the massive high I fell flat. So wound up tight with all that had happened I couldn't believe it had ended, don't get me wrong it wasn't a cliff hanger but the emotional ups and downs of the story as a whole had me strung tight and I had nowhere to go at the end. Fabulous book by both these authors and I see this being a best seller.

This story was intense from beginning to end. Outside appearances and successes can camouflage the pain and scars hidden below the surface. Dimitri and Annalise come from two different worlds but both have similar stories. One action sets them on their "pre-ordained" path to one another. Not everything is as it seems and they will be tested.

I pretty much inhaled this story in one sitting. I watched as Dimitri and Annalise discovered love with each other. Cheered as they fought for their HEA and found myself enthralled with the characters and the story as it unfolded. This is not a love story for the faint of heart.

This was one of those books I struggled not to skim through. The premise was innovative and had a lot of potential! I kept waiting for the story to get darker and more disturbing but that never happened. I was surprised that there wasn’t a single sex scene in this book! There are a few brief kisses and an unrealisticinsta-love, making the romance aspect was extremely disappointing. The MC drama was decent, but I found a lot of this book to be extremely wordy. I often struggled to get through what I felt was unnecessary fluff/filler. For example, we are told how 2 of the characters met in the past, even though this previous meeting was not at all relevant to the storyline.

This book might have been a lot better with a better editor. There were several discrepancies in the storyline. For example saying, “...roared toward the house out of the silence of the night.” during a 6 AM meeting. There were also countless punctuation errors, making it appear that this editor didn’t know that there are grammatical rules for commas - they aren’t just used to indicate pauses!

Where do I start... I am NOT Big on MC and King’s Ransom is one of my FAVORITE Read of 2019! From the very beginning I was immersed in all the characters, I usually focus my attention on the main characters, but the supporting characters pulls you in, you want to get to know them, you want to find out how and why they became who they are.

If I can only describe Dimitri and Annalise’s relationship in one word.. FIRE is a subtle way to describe them, from their very first encounter to the end. Both have scars and deep bruises that have physically healed but beneath the surface they are still very raw.

The emotions I went through while reading!!! Tears were flowing.. my heartbeat skipped many beats.. panicked and stressed for the characters, so many unexpected moments.
In the middle of darkness, I found myself laughing out loud because humor is tossed in the mix and you’ll find yourself wondering how you went from total sadness to laughing in a turn of a page.

“Scars, visible or not, aren’t ugly reminders of what you’ve been through. They’re a testament of your strength and courage in the face of everything” BT Urruela and CD Bradley told a beautiful story. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

PS.. Oh Charlie! He is probably my most favorite supporting character.. I want to know MORE about him...HINT! HINT! HINT!

Well I haven't read an MC book in the longest time and what a way to get back into a gritty world of pain, death and destruction. This story is so not a hearts and flowers tale. But the love story is there and it's beautiful in my opinion. For me it's almost the past repeating itself with a very different outcome.

This is the first book in the series and does it start with a bang. Dimitri and Annalise are both from broken back grounds, that have definitely left it's make on them and their future. But their fight is what makes this beautiful and captivating. Some of the full on action keeps you on occasion very disconnected from the character and that throws you off. And for me the third person writing is a little strange to get my head around, although that's just me and my preferences.

All in all this book is a brilliant read and I would like to see where this series will take us. A journey I definitely want to carry on with. A total recommend from me.

This writing duo of BT Urruela and CD Bradley was a collaboration the need to happen. This story was intense, full of suspense and chemistry. Their creativity as a duo was off the charts. The story blended together like it was writing by one author.

Dimitri and Annalise both have some some demons from their last that have molded them into who they are and personally to me it’s a hot mess!! The kind of hot mess that is explosive full of suspense, makes you want more. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. This was a spectacular ride to be on. Just when I thought I knew what would happen I was proven wrong time and time again.

I’m a very hard to please reader when it comes to MC Books so when I tell you this is a must read it is!! Can’t wait for more from this duo.

Loved this book. The suspense had me bracing myself through the entire book. The book starts with the heartbreaking love story of our Dimitri's parents and the parallel with his mother and the Heroine in the story is remarkable. Dimitri is a badass that has struggled his entire life with so much emotional baggage that he chooses to escape with partying and drugs. He is the legacy of his grandfather's MC the South Side Sinners but once the gavel gets passed to the next in line, the turmoil that's been building in the MC comes to a head. The club has a moral division when they need to be working together the most as they plan a way out of some trouble unfortunate circumstances has left them in their business with the cartel. This where our heroine, Annalise comes in. As the daughter of a just plain out horrible and corrupt man/Senator, she is forced to hide her own tragic life from the world, leaving her to feel utterly alone. No one to save her and no one to confide in. These two meet in what should be a the worst way, but it ends up saving both as the time spent together cracks the emotional numbness and gives them hope for once in their lives. This isn't the typical MC romance that I have read, but it hit all of my book cravings for what I look for in them. There is suspense, action, tears, anger, love and some hand clapping as the anticipation came to an end. Can't wait to read more from these two authors!

This is the first book I have read by both these authors and I have to say their collaboration for this book was incredible. You don’t know where one author began and where the other ended because that is how beautifully written the novel was. From the prologue to the very end, these authors were so explicit and detailed, that they paint a vivid picture for you with the turn of each page.

Do you believe that we all have someone out there that’s our soul mate, our destiny? Two broken souls, from two worlds apart cross paths under extreme circumstances in which everyone around you will argue that you could never have a reality but the chemistry from slightest feather touch between you both tells you otherwise. You never know what hand life will be dealt for you. All you can do is play the hand and hope that one day the odds are not against you. This novel was a roller coaster of emotions, twist and turns, and so many odds stacked high. Sweet Skittles! I read every free moment with 24 hours I had to find out what would happen next.

Annalise was truly a beautiful soul, beyond her years. Even with the demons living inside her that have taken up residence, she still manages to wear her heart on her sleeve and put others before her. While Dimitri is hard core, behind the exterior lives a humble, loving, and loyal man. I loved his fierceness throughout the entirety of the novel.

Just when you think there’s no light left in you, here comes another soul just as broken as you are. Just as hollow as you are. Someone who can relate and understands the pain that resides in you. Imagine finding that person who can feel and see right through when you thought you hid all your demons and insecurities so well. Someone who will catch you before you fall and only sees true beauty when you can’t even see it in yourself. That my friends, is your destiny and true soul mate. Can two broken souls come together and create a soothing balm and turn a fantasy into reality or will the two worlds they come from crash down, standing between them?

The authors have you grasping at your chest because you feel what the characters are experiencing in the novel, while other moments it is so comical you find yourself laughing out loud.

What an incredible book and I look forward to what comes next! I found myself two more one click authors! Thank you for sharing your talent with such avid readers like myself. Happy Reading peeps!

"Looks can be deceiving. From the outside looking in Annalise has a perfect life, loving parents, a charmed childhood, and the Prima Ballerina position at 19 in her dance company.
Not everything is as it appears. Dimitri was raised in the life, like his father before him, but he hides the cracks in his foundation, nobody sees what's eating at him from the inside. They only see the enforcer that excels at what he does, not the shadows that haunt him.
Two broken souls that found a common thread in each other in the midst of an unusual circumstance. The beautifully broken ballerina and the horribly haunted enforcer find something in each other that they never thought either of them had a chance in their respective hells of finding.
Action, suspense and betrayal along with quick wit in the face of chaos had me turning the pages until there weren't any more to turn.

This is one of those stories that it's hard to figure out how to write a review for. There's Dimitri King, who belongs to the scary South Side Sinners MC, is a killer, and addicted to drugs. Obviously, his demons are shadowing him. He comes across prima ballerina Annalise when his MC kidnaps her because her father, Senator Hale, is a corrupt mofo, who needs to pay them. Dimitri isn't happy with kidnapping a woman, and potentially killing her, especially after getting to know her in her captivity, as he learns that she has her own demons, though he doesn't know what they are because before they get that far, (or I would like to believe), all hell breaks loose. Now this is the part where I get conflicted, her demons don't get talked about, and trust me, they're HUGE! Not to mention, for a girl who has spend her childhood in ballet, and not at the gun range, she was very good at hitting her targets. I had no issues with the suspense, because OH MY HELL! My heart raced, while I stayed on the edge of my seat as I turned the pages as quickly as I could! Like it was perfect. The twists had me dropping f-bombs like they were hot for real! And these two authors meshed perfectly together as they created a intense MC story. However, my last issue was the fact that there was no sexy times, like none at all, and I need some fireworks in that department in my MC books. So, I'm really hoping there's more to their story (pretty please), as I NEED MORE! I will read either of these authors in the future individually or together and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Kings Ransom is the first book in a new series by this writing duo and really set the opening of this new series by introducing readers to the hardened members of the South Side Sinners. This story really explored the gritty world of an MC and really had a variety of actions within the story.

Annalise on the outside looks like she has the perfect life with a senator for a father, a career doing what she loves and adoring parents. but once you get a closer look you see that this is not ht case for Annalise who suffers so much pain by the hands of others and she continues to carry it throughout the story. But she is still a strong character who really grows throughout the story despite the circumstances that shes endures throughout the Kinjds Ransom.

Dimitri was raised in the life of the MC surrounded by violence and crime throughout his childhood. It is obvious the effect this has had on him and the way that he struggles with the MC life. I loved reading about the way he was with Annalise and the way that he tried to protect her. Throughout the story, he has a hard exterior that he shows the rest of the world and his MC but inside you can tell his a caring and loyal guy with the way that he is with Annal;ise.

This a story about two people who are struggling in life and are broken-spirited coming together. The writing combination of these two authors was well done and they really complimented each other. Being introduced to this new series has me excited for the enxt book in the series.

Imagine a life where you can’t see a way out. Where you feel trapped, unliked and unloved. Imagine the feeling of being a prized possession, but only for the sole purpose of imagery. In your heart of hearts, you know there is only one way out. It may not be what you want, but it’s your only vision. After all, you don’t have a life of your own. It’s set in stone and you not by your own doing.

“Dimitri seemed to collect the broken and the damned.” This is the perfect quote to introduce Dimitri. He was a tough alpha biker, but a broken one, nonetheless. He blamed himself for a past that he had no control over. Annalise was just as broken as he was, wanting an escape. As a prima ballerina, she couldn’t believe that she had such a connection to such a thug; but Dimitri had a heart of gold. Annalise could see it in his eyes. She could also see the pain. The pain that so desperately needs to be released. Can their two worlds collide and actually save each other, or will life go on and be as miserable and mundane as they had been, before they met?

King’s Ransom is one amazing story. It’s one of sorrow and desperation, yet one of fulfillment and triumph. BT Urruela and CD Bradley make one brilliant duo. The characters, the background, the details … it’s all right there, in the palm of your hand. Make sure to pick up a copy … it will make your head spin in all sorts of great ways!!

Fabulous collaboration!!

From the first page, I was made a part of this story ~ I could picture it all vividly. I experienced it all with the characters and won't soon forget it or them.

This is NOT a hearts and flowers HEA love story ~ it's ugly and filled with corruption, deception, betrayal, loss, and abandonment from people who one should be able to expect the opposite. It's a story filled with pain, yet in it's ugliness, some are provided the opportunity to heal in ways they couldn’t have otherwise.

At times, as I read, I believed the story was going in a certain direction, but realized it was too obvious. I then took my thoughts in a completely opposite direction, but BT and CD took it in a direction I didn't see coming and it was perfect!!!

This is the first collaboration between these writers and I hope for more. Their writing styles work very well together ~ as I read I attempted to determine who was writing at different times throughout the story, but their styles blended/flowed in such a way that it was as though written by one.

If you haven’t read either author in the past, THIS is the perfect way to be introduced to their work. King’s Ransom is a MUST read!!!

I certainly hope we get more of the South Side Sinners MC.

King’s Ransom by B.T Urruela and CD Bradley 5 stars
Can two people from completely different worlds find love in an extreme environment? Annalise is a prima ballerina and daughter to a Senator. Everything in her life is rigid and unforgiving. She has serious scars on her soul, she’s looking for a way out and plans her own way out. Her Father the Senator has secrets and has ticked off the wrong people. The MC is looking for payback from him and they find the only way to extract that payment is through his Daughter. On the night of her debut she takes matters into her own hands. Dimitri is the VP to his club and meets Annalise when she becomes his charge in the ransom demand to her father. I truly enjoyed their conversations as he sat guarding her from the less savory members of his club. Annalise is broken in so many ways and Demitri is not far behind her.
There are no hearts and flowers in this story it’s rough and gritty. I’m unsure of how these authors wrote a book so seemlessly it flowed and was a great escape to read- Carolyn for Book Haven Book Blog

Mind-boggling, eye-popping, unbelievably brilliant story telling. I was seduced wholeheartedly from the beginning. This book is unlike any MC story I have ever read. I had to put down my e-reader often as I wasn’t sure I wanted to know the outcome. Of course I continued on because I had to know.

When you can no longer stand the life you have and decide it’s time to check out, surely one can succeed completely. However, as carefully as it was planned, it was unceremoniously interrupted by a motorcycle club that needs you alive and breathing. You wake up thinking you’ve moved on into the next life but actually you end up exactly where you should be, in the land of the living. You discover your own strength, something to live for, healing from within and your capture is bringing all this to the surface.

BT & CD has truly has written a winner. I’m re-reading it again. I got this as an ARC for my honest opinion but I have also purchased the e-book as well. That’s how good this book is.

The trigger warning wasn't lying about this book being all sorts of fucked up lol. Just my kinda book. BT Urruela and CD Bradley knock it out of the ballpark and deliver a book that kept me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Annalise is an incredibly strong woman, especially with the kinda parents she has. A pill popping mother and heartless and ruthless father that only thinks about his political career, she finds a new kind of strength when she meets Dimitri. They are totally opposites, but deep down they share a lot of the same pain. When their world comes crumbling down around them they only have each other and a few loyal friends that stand behind them.

This book is incredible. I love the different kinds of characters and how the story unfolds. Just when you think you know what's going on another twist is thrown into the mix. It really kept me guessing until the end who is loyal and who is not. This book is one of my top reads this year.

I will say there are triggers in the book so be aware this is a love story that is intense and full of pain!! Dimitri and Annalise are two very broken and damaged souls that somehow fill the cracks inside of eachother!!
This book is dark and twisted!! It's full of lies, truths, betrayal, corruption, loss and in the end a raw true love!! I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it I can't wait to see what the next book in this series is!!

King’s Ransom blew me away!
It kept me on the edge of my seat, flipping pages so I could find out how this story would unfold. It wasn’t a pretty story. It brought some of the ugly that humanity has to offer, yet through the cracks you could find the goodness in others.

Dimitri and Annalise come from different worlds, but lived in the same city. They are so different and they each wore their masks to cover their pain, but as they spend time together the similarities of their lives came out and their masks started coming down. They began building a bond between them as if their broken souls needed the other to find their way out from the darkness they each have been living in. Unfortunately, in order to get out of their current hell they have to figure out who the enemy is and face them head on!

Ok, I know you have to be living under a rock to not have read either of these authors but I can say that I have not read anything by either of these two, but I will be changing that ASAP!! This is a gripping book that left me wanting more. Dimitri was everything the blurb described him and so much more. He is the enforcer of his deceased father’s MC and still trying to process his death. Annalise couldn’t come from a more different background than Dimitri. She is a sheltered dancer living in her own Hell. When their two worlds collide expect an epic explosion. They began to forge a bond over the darkness their lives have become. Can two broken souls save each other or will they crash and burn? I highly recommend this gripping tale!! I can’t wait to see these authors have in store for us next!

I love me an MC book and have read all of BT's books and now need to read CD Bradley's books. This collaboration was perfect!!

Annalise and Dimitri are the farthest from being from different sides of the tracks. She being the perfect child on the outside with a senator for a father and him being raised in a MC club that has lost it's way. She performs in front of crowds and he takes care of those who wrong them as the enforcer of the biker club.

These 2 are broken and come together under bad circumstances but learn that they are actually quiet the same in what they have had to deal with. I also love when authors use the supporting characters and give them a bit of the story outside of the main characters. I can't wait to read some more MC books from both of these authors as they have struck gold with this one.

The Prologue is a beautifully, tragic story, and I could have stopped there, but it was just that, the Prologue to two other stories that collide for a heart racing ride! Dimitri and Annalise are of two totally different worlds that should have never crossed paths, but they did. I wouldn't consider this a small book, but I devoured it in two days. The story is captivating and haunting and had me so engrossed that time and pages flew by. And then at the stroke of midnight (bedtime) the most pivotal part of the story was before me and I couldn't put it down. It's the best MC book I've read this year!

I am an avid fan of MC stories, and in my opinion, this is the best one I have read to date! Dimitri and Annalise and as total opposite as can be, and from totally different worlds, but fate steps in and draws them together. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This talented duo of authors’, have done an amazing job in penning this tale, and I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I cannot wait to read more of their work, and highly recommend for all.

Simply Amazing

This such an intense amazing story. I want to say thank you to two talented Authors BY Urruela and CD Bradley for writing this story. I don't want to spoil anything. I had walk away a couple of times because my heart was in my throat and tears in my eyes. Something good can come out of something so terrible. Dimitri an Annalise along with other characters will stay with me.... You definitely need to put King's Rsnsom: South Side Dinners MC on your TBR list. You also need to check out other works by each of these authors; you won't be disappointed

Thoughts: Interesting read, first from these authors. Did enjoy it, curious that it was just the one from this MC, I haven't had that in a while.
