Who are the ancient astronauts? Why did they first come to Earth? Why are they returning now? What part did they play in building the great monuments of antiquity? What part did they play in the formation of present and earlier civilizations? With what other beings do we share our universe? And where does the Earth fit into the cosmic scheme of things? Almost twenty years of experimental work with telepathy led to the "breakthrough" contact recorded in this book. The Ra Material is an account not only of the events leading up to this contact, but of over 200 pages of verbatim transcripts of each and every conversation!
Completely and utterly mind-blowing but also very intuitive information. I have heard other readers describe this book as “a letter from home” and I feel the same way. I’m so glad it found me. Was this group actually communicating with an extraterrestrial species called Ra? I don’t know... but honestly, it doesn’t matter to me whether or not they were because the content of their conversations just makes sense (although I want to believe they actually were talking with Ra!). As a blossoming Buddhist I have held an idea of the Law of One for many years, but reading it described in Ra’s terms really cemented the philosophy in my mind. It is a mystical, wondrous, and sublime thing to exist, and to be surrounded by other manifestations of yourself at all times. Ra discusses the implications of this in humanity’s past, present, and future, and presents a glimpse of the universe that is, at the exact same time, surprising and not surprising at all. I highly recommend this book to all, even those who are not a fan of “woo-woo” stuff like this. It does require an exceptional attention span— it took me four months to chip away at this because the language is incredibly dense. I had to re-read just about every other paragraph twice or more to begin to understand it. I treated this like a textbook, flagging passages frequently and writing them down so I can look at them and digest them more. Truly, this is worth the time and the exercise of patience. This is a letter from home.
I have read this book several times trying to figure out exactly what it is saying. I think there needs to be a companion book to go along with this to interpret what the meaning of the passages really are saying. With that being said it is profound in every way possible. If what the light beings are saying is true than the more I read it the more I realize how little I know and how much I still need to learn about the universe we live in.
This book has managed to combine all my varied beliefs based on years of my own spiritual growth work. Egypt, reincarnation, source, aliens, Atlantis, chakras, densities, and karma. Elated to continue the series.
The Ra Material is a book written by Don Elkins, Carla Rueckert, and James Allen McCarty. The book is a transcription of a series of channeled communications with a social memory complex as Ra (yes, the sun "god").
According to the book, Ra is a social memory complex who comes from Venus. Ra claims to have visited Earth millions of years ago, at a time when humans were still evolving. Ra says that they helped ancient humans evolve by providing them with advanced technology and spiritual teachings. This intervention is said to have had a profound impact on the development of human civilisation, and to have influenced the development of many ancient cultures and religions.
In addition to discussing their interactions with ancient humans, Ra also offers spiritual guidance and teachings on a wide range of topics. Some of the key themes discussed in the book include the nature of reality, the purpose of human existence, and the path to spiritual enlightenment. Ra provides detailed explanations of these concepts and offers practical advice for readers who are seeking spiritual growth and development.
One of the favourite things about the book is the unique perspective it offers on the origins and development of human civilisation. Ra's account of our planet's history and the role of extraterrestrial beings in shaping it is thought-provoking and raises many interesting questions. For example, Ra's claims about extraterrestrial intervention in human history challenge the traditional view of human evolution and raise the possibility of alternative explanations for the development of human civilisation. Additionally, Ra's spiritual teachings provide a unique perspective on the nature of reality, the purpose of human existence, and the path to spiritual enlightenment.
However, some readers may find the book's claims about extraterrestrial intervention in human history to be difficult to accept as it goes against the traditional scientific understanding of human evolution. To a lot of people, such claims are still considered to be a controversial and speculative idea.
Additionally, some readers may find the book's channeled format to be off-putting. As the content of this book is not the result of direct research or observation, but instead based on the claims of an entity that is said to have communicated with the authors through a form of psychic mediumship, people may be closed off to what the book has to offer.
After finishing The Ra Material (Book One), I found myself unable to stop thinking about the book. Despite some of the book's more controversial claims, I found its ideas to be thought-provoking and well worth considering. In fact, there have been a lot of things that I have been reading across different fields that make me go, "This is what Ra said too!" So, if you're looking for an alternative take on human history and spirituality, I highly recommend this book. It is a read that will stay with you long after you've finished it.
This book claims to channel a fifth-dimensional entity called Ra, which answers questions that are of interest to humanity. Its mission is to approximate the Law of One which is the only law of the universe. According to Ra, humanity is a third-dimensional being that is evolving into its fourth dimension.
In the first book, Ra explains that the pyramids of Giza have been build for healing purposes. They have been built telepathically where thought could affect matter. Ra also explains the visitations of other-dimensional beings who are trying to help or deter humanity from its progress. There are many other questions that are being answered, so if you are curious and open-minded, this might be the book for you.
The language of the channeled material is somewhat confusing, but for those who are able to grasp what is being said, its a very enlightening experience. I will continue reading the series.
A Q&A SERIES OF QUESTIONS TO A PURPORTED EXTRATERRESTRIAL
The first 30% or so of the book is introductory material explaining how the activities since 1962 ultimately led to this book.
Co-author Don Elkins wrote in the Introduction to this 1984 book, “This book is an exact transcript from tape recordings of twenty-six sessions of an experiment designed to communicate with an extraterrestrial being. We started the experiment in 1962 and refined the process for nineteen years. In 1981 the experimental results of our efforts changed profoundly in quality and precision. This book is simply a report of the beginning of this latter phase of our work… I consider my point of view to be purely scientific… In recent years there has been much controversy about phenomena that were apparently incompatible with accepted methods of scientific research. This included such things as UFOs, mental metal-bending, psychic surgery, and many other seemingly miraculous happenings… After almost thirty years of research and experimentation in the era of so-called paranormal phenomena, I must recommend extreme caution n reaching a conclusion… It seems to me that the presently accepted scientific paradigm is less than adequate… it is also my opinion that this book and the subsequent volumes of the Ra material contain the most useful information that I have discovered.” (Pg. 1-2)
He continues, “Our research group uses what I prefer to call ‘tune trance telepathy’ to communicate with an extraterrestrial race called Ra… Ra landed on Earth about 11,000 years ago as a sort of extraterrestrial missionary with the objective of helping Earthman with his mental evolution. Failing in this attempt, Ra retreated from the Earth’s surface but continued to monitor activities closely on this planet… As of this writing we have completed over 100 sessions of experimental communications with Ra… the remainder of this introduction … is … an accounting of some of the pertinent parts of our research from our beginnings to the present day and the Ra contact. I’ve asked my long-time research associate, Carla L. Rueckert, to tell our story.” (Pg. 2-3)
Mr. Rueckert recounts, “In 1962 I joined an experiment that Don had created in order to start to test a hypothesis which he had developed with Harold Price, an engineer for Ford Motor Company. Price had… [given] Don some information which Don found quite interesting. Its source was allegedly extraterrestrial. Its content was largely metaphysical and seemed to be in line with all that Don had learned up to that point. Within this material instructions were given for creating the means whereby to generate further material from this same source without the necessity of actual physical contact with extraterrestrials. Don’s hypothesis was that this phenomenon might be reproducible; so, he invited a dozen of his engineering students to join in an experiment with the objective of achieving some sort of telepathic contact with a source… I was the thirteenth member… The nature of the experiment changed drastically when the group was visited by a contactee from Detroit. The contactee sat down with the group and almost immediately was contacted apparently by telepathic impression…” (Pg. 3-4)
She continues, “In 1971, after I had been on several fruitless materialization medium searches with Don, we went to a séance held by the Reverend James Tingley … a minister of the Spiritualist church… Don has always said that one of my assets as a research associate is my great gullibility… I have a way of taking things as they come and accepting them at face value and only afterwards analyzing what has occurred. This gullibility is a vital factor in obtaining good results in paranormal research… An open mind, one willing to be gullible, leads its possessor to a kind of subjective and personal certainty which does not equal proof as it cannot be systematically reproduced in others. However, this subjective knowing is a central p0art of the spiritual evolution to which Ra speaks so compellingly in this volume and which we have researched for many years now...” (Pg. 4-5)
She continues, “In 1976 we determined to attempt an introduction to the whole spectrum of paranormal phenomenon which are involved in the so-called UFO contactee phenomenon… ‘The Ra Material’ is a direct outgrowth of our continuous research with ‘alleged’ extraterrestrial entities…” (Pg. 7) She continues, “this is an introduction to a book which consists of transcripts of messages of a very precise nature having to do with metaphysics, philosophy, and the plan of evolution, both physical and spiritual, of man on Earth. Consequently, what I propose to do is share with you some of the research material which our group has collected through the years…” (Pg. 20-21)
She adds, “The work I dd in early 1976 was to be my last… my kidneys had failed.. it was considered a miracle that I survived… with the loss of approximately half of each kidney… The research that Don and I had done up to that point brought us the knowledge of a highly unusual type of healing… it was n part my disability which caused us to put ourselves who wholeheartedly into an examination of that type of healing…” (Pg. 43) Later, she adds, “although I could no longer work at the typewriter, I was still able to offer the continuing weekly meditations and to take on advanced students for individual work.” (Pg. 46)
She cautions, “What concerns me perhaps more than anything else is that someone who reads this material will consider this human being that I am to have some sort of wisdom that Ra certainly has but that I certainly do not. If this work impresses you, I can only ask that you please make a sharp differentiation in your mind between the words and the ‘medium’ through which the words come… If you have any questions as you read, please feel free to write the Rock Creek group. Its correspondent, Jim [McCarthy], will never ignore a letter, and since he has his own experiences of the sessions themselves to share, he will finish this introduction.” (Pg. 49-50)
McCarty states, “We are beginners when it comes to knowing how the Ra contact occurs, and it has only been though a process of trial and error, session by session, that we have learned more about how to support our instrument, Carla, in the mental, physical, and spiritual senses. We were so excited about the Ra contact when it first began that we had two sessions per day for days at a time; but, we have since learned that this procedure was much too wearing on Carla…. A great deal of thought goes into the questions which Don asks during each session. Each of us contributes ideas, but the great bulk of the line of questioning is accomplished by Don… He also has the intuitive sense that is vital in following the unexpected and profoundly revealing answers that Ra so often gives with further questions… to take advantage of the new insights…
“I give Carla a half-hour back massage… before each session because she will have to remain absolutely motionless for between an hour and an hour and forty-five minutes. Then we meditate so that the harmony we try to produce in our daily lives is intensified, and so that our desires are unified into the single desire to see contact with Ra… At some point after that, Carla departs her physical body and Ra then uses it to make the word which form the responses to Don’s questions… Since Carla has no idea of what has occurred during the session, she is always most curious to know how it went… Participating in this communication with Ra has been most inspiring for each of us because of the blend of eloquence and simplicity which characterizes Ra’s responses. The information contained in ‘The Ra Material’ has been most helpful to us in increasing our knowledge of the mystery of the creation and our evolution through it. We hope that it might also be useful to you.” (Pg. 50-51)
This book will not be of interest to anyone hoping that an ‘ancient astronaut’ will provide any insight on, say, the ‘Nazca Lines’ in Peru; but it may appeal to anyone interested in ‘channeled information purporting to come from extraterrestrials.
Spiritual influencers rave about this book, so I gave it a try. I’m glad I found the free PDFs before purchasing. Difficult to understand and annoying to read. I got through it thanks to ChatGPT.
I didn’t find anything that profound in this book - probably because I had heard all the good stuff already on Instagram reels. The introduction was too long. The questions were mostly about the history of humanity and how extraterrestrial beings have been a part of making it.
The concepts of One Creator, love, service to others, and evolving from lower densities reminded me of the teachings of Sikhism. I did find it interesting that anything of negative orientation/evoking fear is not The Law of One - so religious material as we know it maybe be tainted by the Orion group?
However, a lot of it is a bit outlandish for me and I am not sure if I believe this is all true. Jesus killed a playmate as a child? Hitler is healing in another dimension?

Implications for the meaning of life - 5 stars! Reading format - 3 stars. I absolutely acknowledge the efforts made by those human beings that pulled this together - phenom efforts. And this book development process was ground-breaking in its day (1997?), but the cumbersome Q & A format feels so outdated, even though I know the "meaning of life" can't hardly get outdated - LOL Lots of meaningful, life-changing info contained, but not an enjoyable flow for me, and lots of competitive books these days to gather like information. I'm not sure if I will pursue the additional Ra books.
Great read. Awesome content. It’s a little rough to read at the beginning. Not because of the theme/topic, but because of the “names” or descriptions used to refer to people or states of consciousness. Once I got used to their was of speaking it was a lot easier to understand. The information given is relevant today as it was when it was written. Looking forward to read the rest of the books.
This book provides so many answers for the seekers of spiritual learning. I particularly enjoyed understanding why there is a good vs evil war when all sides of the battle are a part of the same self
I don't typically like channeled books, but this one is pretty popular, so I gave it a try. There are some interesting ideas and concepts that are fascinating, and it's worth reading, but it's still just not my thing.
The Ra Material, in my opinion, is essential reading for anyone interested in the channeled literature. During my reading I have visions and experiences that can only be described as transcendent. Highly recommend!
This is legitimely ‘out there’. For some readers probably total bonkers. If you read it, approach it with an open mind. I firmly believe some of the things stated in it, whilst some others sound a little bit too made up. But hey, who am I to tell?
The first big "Law of One" ( 1 of 4 ) 1980-1984 books about hypnosis and channeling a multi-dimensional entity called Ra. The entity said he was Ra - the Egyptian Sun God. The channelers were in Louisville, Kentucky.
For the Reader's Information (FRI) - A - The author (Don Elkins) went "Crazy" and shot himself in 1984 after his "Channeling" partners (who were having a love affair) tried to institutionalize Don Elkins the author. There was a 5 hour stand-off with police as they sought to arrest and institutionalize the author. These facts have led to A LOT of conspiracy theories that Don Elkins was assassinated and/or that "Channeling" is metaphysically and physically very dangerous.
A1 - I've read this 4-book series over the years since the late 1990s. I believe the "Law of One" message is that " There is no right and wrong - only experience for the One Creator" A2 - "All is One," and
A3 - that "PACIFICATION" and "NON-JUDGEMENT" will lead to "Learning" and "Ascending." One does this through "Service to Others" as opposed to "Service to Self."
A4 - I don't agree.
1 - I just re-read and took notes because of the recent MASSIVE GROWTH of "CHANNELERS" around the whole "New Age." "End of Times," "UFO Disclosure" movements.
1a - The Carnies and Snake Oil salespeople are coming out of the woodwork as thousand dollar "Memberships" are being sold in order to "Learn" and "Ascend."
2 - I did always like the linguistic "I am Ra" as an intro to every thought. Reminds me of Clarice Lispector's repeat in "The Passion According to GH."
3 - Definitely overwhelming design-wise with the no Table of Contents. I started to search the Index for subject matter rather then moving through the books chronologically.
3a - The ANSWER IS THIS WEBSITE!!! - Has the "Ra" and "Book of One" subjects lined up and clickable - https://www.lawofone.info/
3b - Here is the subjects so you can understand these "Law of One" content.
3b1 - Oh, and the subject "Harvest" is about humans being... achem... being harvested.... Like chickens at a chicken farm.
Some deeply disturbing content throughout these books about Orion ( the Reptilians), and the the American Department of Defense ( DOD).

4 - Reader needs to get used to strange "Ra" prose and his staccato / awkward and condescending language.
5 - Like everything "New Age" tread lightly and be careful!!! For some, me included, "New Age" equals = CIA and DOD Psychological Operations.
Fascinating Gibberish. I was given this at a party and felt obliged to read it since the guy was quite friendly. Feels very much like a cult that never became a cult, in that all the groundwork is there - an internal conflict, a 'special science' of vibrations, a 'harvest'/rapture, an alternate explanation of history (incl Egyptians, Big Foot, Hitler, Genghis Khan, Evolution, Thomas Jefferson) - but it never took off like the similar themed Heavens Gate group. I'd guess it's because the writing style is so dense that it's very annoying to read, and the central message is so diffuse you can't galvanise a group around it. Also the author seemingly died in a standoff with 40 police officers after having a strange breakdown, so perhaps they lacked leadership. At any rate - I'd say only read as a strange curio if you're into cults.
I thoroughly encourage everyone to read this material. Even if it's for fun. There is enough interesting content to keep anyone interested and pondering. It is fascinating and scintillating as well as mind expanding whichever way you come at it. I recommend the audiobook to make it through the content faster.
