Gale is many things. A warrior, a knight, a drinker of blood. He's walked the earth for centuries, fighting off the fae with his fellow knights. Gale is a master of the sword, of flying under the radar, and feeling very, very sorry for what he's done. Damning the king he loved and the brothers he'd sworn to support isn't something one can just move on from. Gale is many things, but pure isn't one of them. He stopped being pure when he stopped being Sir Galahad. But centuries spent fighting and brooding can't prepare him for the reappearance of an old enemy. Caught in the cross hairs is Thomas, an impossibly attractive Arthurian scholar. Gale's pledge of chastity is put to the test as he tries to protect Thomas. Can Gale remain true to his vow as he strives to make up for his past mistakes? Is honor worth holding on to at the cost of the man he loves? Vampires? Check. Gay knights? Double Check. Dark Situations? Yep, those too. It is intended for mature audiences.
Told in multiple POV, 3rd person, it's the first installment in "The Bound Brotherhood" series . This is the first book by this author and I think for a debut novel it is good but I have a major problem here and it's that the world building could have been much better. If it wasn't an Arthurian story I would have felt lost at some parts and for the Fae world the author could have done better (it had the potential). It's slow burn, a bit dark and angsty. Overall, it was an OK read and hope you enjoy ur more than me!

This is absolutely fascinating. I'm always on the hunt for new grail legends, I've liked King Arthur since I was a little kid. In this variation, the Knights of the Round Table have become vampires. Gale, once known as Sir Galahad follows his mission to hunt the fae, and retains his mythical chastity.
Matt, once known as Mordred, has search for the grail for several years. He thinks he's finally found the human scholar who might be able to locate it.
When Galahad finds the human working with Mordred, he spirits him to safety, but finds his resolve sorely tested by Thomas' is bravery and persistence. The more time they spend together, the more Galahad finds himself tempted to break his oath to his king...
The Knights of the Round Table are certainly different than they were in the Legends. Lancelot's an absolute jerk. Gawain's fascinating. I'd like to see more about them in future books. If you're not fond of cliffhangers, you may want to wait for future volumes. The book tapers to a good stopping point, but the main storyline is not resolved.
There are some non-consensual elements to the story that parallel the original Arthurian Legends. The incident is not between the main pairing.
If you enjoyed High fantasy, if you're a fan of the Arthur Legends, if you want some new vampire lore, you'll probably like this book.
I absolutely love a story that has a full cast of characters. The book can be about bad boy bikers, mafia brothers, a sports team, a wolf pack, or just about anything where the cast is like a family and it is either already part of a series, or promises to be one.
Honor Bound is one such book, and I cannot tell you just how much I enjoyed this story. It was full of action from beginning to end. The originality of the storyline is sublime. I adored the main MCs, Gale and Thomas and cheered for them all through the book.
The secondary characters are ones that stay with you, and I am looking forward to a particular fae getting his just due in future books.
I loved Pierce's take on vampirism, and I look forward to seeing how everything pans out. Linking vampires with King Arthur and his knights might sound cheesy, but I assure you, it is anything but. Deep seeded issues of prejudice, ignorance, bigotry, superstition and fear of change make this book so much more. Just...MORE!💖
This was a very good start for a new author. I look forward to seeing where the future takes them, on their writing journey.
"From bookworm to badass!" - Gale
**There are some editing issues, with spelling and punctuation, but not enough to detract from the overall story.
***Warning, while this is a slow burn romance, there may be a couple of triggers for some (that occur outside of the romance) of non/dubcon, and incest. 18+ is advised.

All Gale has left is his honor. A celibate vampire, immortal, and his best (and only) friends are King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
Thomas is an expert on the King. It’s his life’s work. When he meets a charming man who pays him to find the Holy Grail he is overjoyed. Just as he thinks he’s found a clue, his life and beliefs are shattered. Dragged into the world of vampire Knights, King Arthur, and the fae world is only a little less confusing than the feelings he’s developing for Galahad.
First of all can I say, Knights being vampires is not a storyline I would of ever thought of. I’ve read enough (and seen so many movies) that I had assumptions as to how Knights should act. Nothing prepared me for these guys.
The story grabbed my interest immediately. The angst that Gale felt about his celibacy was well done I thought. Thomas’s issues with who he turned out to be and what he had to do was a shocker.
I really liked the book. It ended on a happy for now feel. I certainly hope there’s another (or several) books in the future.
This is a fascinating view on the Arthurian tales. It's definitely not the way that you would think of when you think about the tale. I certainly like it.
Galahad, now Gale, is tortured and I think it's mostly his own doing that he's so tortured. He holds himself to a standard that the other immortal knights don't. I think, though, he does it out of guilt instead of anything else.
Thomas is such an enthusiastic person when it comes to history, especially Arthur. He's a little naive though, then again, Matt really knows how to manipulate a person, so maybe Thomas isn't so terribly naive.
I love the two of them together. I think it had to progress the way it did, because Thomas and Gale both had to grow and change.
I am looking forward to seeing more in this world. I hope there are lots more books in the series.
This is a very unique telling of the story about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. I especially love that it is more about one of the knights then of the favored Arthur or Lancelot. Not that you don't get some of them too, but this POV creates a unique storyline and perspective. Gale the Pure has to continue to wage his own moral compass as Thomas has to fight what he is becoming. It's a great story of fighting what you think should be true versus what is actually true. Nothing is truly black and white. This story does a great job of exploring all the various greys in between.
Is this really the first book of this author?! 😱Very good aand very enjoyable!! 👏👏. A very special story of King Arthur and his loyal vampiric knights.
If you like Arthurian romances, warriors-vampies, fae-magic, resistant heros, persistent heros ;-) and some really hot and wet - literally, I mean 😉 - MM lovin' with a HEA, grab this book and read it already!
I absolutely LOVED how this new-to-me author took the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, shook it up, turned it inside out, upside down, blew it out of the water, then gave it a fresh, original, and delightfully different twist. This was a fantastic, powerful, grab-you-by-the-feels, slow burning, intense, poignant, and totally awesome tale. It had me hooked from beginning to end, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
I don't know what it is about Arthurian tales that appeals so much to me but I've always loved them and this book was no different. The fact that King Arthur and the Knights are vampires is certainly a twist in the legend but it was really well done and I loved the plot as much as the characters. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
This is was so wonderful! It’s completely different then the other books I’ve been reading and I loved it! It’s a bit dark but not too bad and the world building is pretty neat. I’m so excited for this series, I’ll be impatiently waiting for the next book.
