"Rečnik zaljubljenika u mačke" francuskog esejiste, kritičara i novinara Frederika Vitua je zbirka zanimljivih priča o mačkama datih, kao i u svakom rečniku, po abecednom redu.

Vitu uzima istorijske anegdote, zanimljivosti.iz celog sveta, priče iz života književnika, kompozotora, slikara, političara, sveštenika, vojskovođa... koje imaju veze sa mačkama i smešta ih u ovu zbirku.

Zanimljivo. Ne mora da se čita po redu. Takođe ne morate biti zaljubljenik u mačke da bi vas dojmila ova knjiga.

U suštini, to su priče kakve nailazimo i u Politikinom Zabavniku.

Izvukao sam nekoliko... hm... odrednica iz ovog rečnika i spakovao ih u jedan poduži tekst o ovoj knjizi.

Tous les amoureux des chats adoreront ce livre.

Frédéric Vitoux aborde tous les aspects concernant notre petit compagnon préféré, historique, géographique, littéraire, ésotérique, etc. Il raconte avec beaucoup d'humour des histoires vraies ou inventées. J'ai souvent éclaté de rire, souvent été émue aussi, bref j'en ressors en aimant encore plus ce délicieux petit félin qu'est le chat !

A beautiful walk in the cat's universe seen through the eyes of Frédéric Vitoux: no objectivity here, of course! A pleasant writing style, emotion, we learn many things about many different aspects, from history of the cats to breeds. Really for cat lovers; it may be annoying for others!

This book is written by a major cat lover who writes with so much verve and spirit about cats, from the real ones who shared the lives of artists (mostly) to the ones who appear on paintings, in books and cartoons (like Felix the Cat)/movies. There are other entries as well on other subjects concerning cats, some races are included. It is a definite must for any cat lover out there, the book is very well written and the author easily transports you with his language and his verve. There are a few black and while illustrations as well. I just think the book is a tad too expensive, the book is small and the illustrations very few, the book should have had glazed paper and color illustrations instead to be worth 40-45$CAD.
