I’m the fun guy.

The one always quick with a joke.

The guy who is crazy enough to do wild things to make people smile.

That’s how people see me.

That’s who I’ve presented myself to be.

That’s how I introduced myself to Rivet.

The first female Cerberus team member wasn’t impressed with my corny pickup lines and wide smile like the other women I use it on.

And why should she be?

She’s seen it all and lived to tell the tale.

She took one look at me and decided she wasn’t interested.

I should move on, but her rejection stings.

I can’t seem to let it go.

I can’t get her out of my head.

I also can’t figure out if it’s the chase I crave, or if this woman is someone special I’ve been missing in my life.

So that really only leaves one thing…

Do I show her the real me?

Not only does Marie James know how to start a book to get your attention, but she also knows how to end one. Only instead of just getting my attention she left me shocked and desperate for more.

Cannon was a truly fantastic leading man. He was so funny, corny, sweet, dominant, and just so many other things. He was multi-layered. I loved watching those layers revealed.

Rivet is the first female Cerberus member and she felt she had a lot to prove. Her struggle to fight what was between her and Cannon was fascinating to watch. It all unfolded so well and was excellently written.

I never hesitate to grab a book written by Marie James ever since I was first introduced to her writing years ago. And every time she reminds me why that is. I'm never disappointed with what I get.

Marie James did a great job on Cannon, the plot was strong, it written well, it was filled with many emotions. Cannon and Rivet were strong characters. They were complete opposites, Cannon had a great personality, something you don't see much of in a biker. He's one of my favorites. I thought Rivet and Cannon were made for each other, they brought out a different side and completed each other. They were drawn to one another, their chemistry was off the charts. They were great together. I enjoyed Cannon and Rivet's story.
This was a great story. I enjoyed it. Thank you, Marie James. Great work :)

Loved Rivet & Cannon's story it was fun and flirty and made us laugh. River being a new recruit to Cerberus and a woman to boot is about to stir things up.

Cannon was funny and made us laugh loved his crazy t-shirts his cocky attitude and his sexy swagger and those lines he gives to a woman make you chuckle.

Rivet was an awesome character as well who could be fun and flirty a touch cookie and a woman who owns her own sexuality and when she lets us see it has a sensitive emotional side.

The chemistry between this couple was off the charts their sexual encounters were more the same. This slow-burn romance was packed with heat. As they navigate what is between them, Cannon is figuring out his life what he wants with it, and who.

Overall we enjoyed this story the characters were great the MC members treading lightly with a new woman among the ranks yet welcoming them with open arms. We are glad that Rivet gave the smooth-talker jokester a chance as they were a match made in heaven.

I always love a great MC series!

I always enjoy a good MC story and this one did not disappoint.

I loved how this story ended for both Cannon and Rivet.

Narrators did a fantastic job telling this story.

(5 stars)

So let's start off with the facts: this is a series and as such should be read in order. Why, you may ask... cuz it makes sense to do so, don't question the logic just go with it, the journey is so much sweeter when you have read the previous books. As I have read the previous books, I have actually been looking forward to Cannon's story. We have seen him in the past couple of books and have come to know him as the jokester, never one to be super serious and one that always has one of those corny pickup lines. We actually see him get thrown on his ass in the previous book when he hits on Rivet for the first time. He apologizes and decides that maybe he just needs to let his fixation with her go, so he headed back to school. Now, he is back for the summer and just one look at Rivet is enough to let Cannon know that forgetting her is easier said than done.

Rivet has worked hard to get where she is. Once a Marine always a Marine, she has finished her four years and has joined Cerberus. Now is just letting her work and actions speak for itself, and getting involved with the bosses son is not a way to get on anyone's good side. But what happens when Rivet can't say no any longer? What happens when the two lose control and finally just go for it? Will the end result be worth it?

I really liked everything about Cannon and Rivet's story. I loved that it was a bit of role reversal; not the little lady sitting at home waiting but the hero. Loved Rivet's strength and that Cannon being attracted to her was against the norm for him. I will not lie, I did expect someone from the past to pop up with a surprise; I will also not lie that I was a bit disappointed that it didn't happen BUT that just means that Marie James does not do the expected, and that is awesome! This story kept me sucked in with the bit of drama, some adventures, and the seriously spicy moments, like ghost pepper spicy moments. I give this 5 stars.

Title: Cannon
Author: Marie James
Genre: Contemporary MC Romance
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**
DEPTH IN THE NARRATIVE NOT CHARACTER INTERACTION.
✭✭✭ - the story and characters were all right- the book overall was an enjoyable read, but it just didn't grip me.
Like contemporary superhero comics giving us characters like a female Thor, Cerberus has given us their first female member, Rivet. Showing MC's aren't just for the boys anymore.
Cannon has no problem hitting on Rivet. He is known for his new lady every night persona. He is the life of the party. But, he makes a point of letting us known in the narrative he is actually a serious person and in the dark he has to have control. Problem is, so does Rivet but she likes giving him control and vice versa.
Rivet feels she has to prove herself based on her gender and Cannon feels he has to prove himself because of who he has let people believe he is.
Rivet struggles with gender and power situations but we don't delve into that just like not exploring how her scars keep her from undressing all the way but then suddenly sure in the shower show off her scars and she doesn't mention it until later. Nor do we explore Cannon's need for control under the covers or why he hides his serious nature.
My biggest question: Rivet and Cannon only sit down and talk to get to know each other once at the hotel; So how do they fall in love? Seriously?

Wowzers this book is super hot! Cannon might be the guy quick for a laugh, but that is not who he wants to be anymore, he wants to be more. I LOVED watching him rise above what he was and seeing how determined he was. I liked Rivet, but she was a little bit in the background for me because Cannon stole the show for me. Their "relationship" was definitely an uphill battle, but it was built so well into the story.

All in all this was an interesting story as it is not a typical MC read, but Cerberus is not a typical MC, so that works out. It is not dark, but it is gritty with some tough situations. I can also tell you that the steam level is off the charts, because Cannon might be a joker, but definitely not in the bedroom. ;) It was a wonderful story and I LOVED the characters, I totally recommend you reading this ASAP- I give it 5 stars!

PS: Thank you to Marie James and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.

OH MY HEART! Rivet is the first female to be part of Cerberus MC, and I mean member not just someone's woman & for that alone, a 5 star rating had to be given. She's not even trying to stir the pot with any gossip about her activities, but there's this college hottie named Cannon, who's the son of her boss, and the moment he spied Rivet, he wanted her. Man, Cannon's shirts had me rolling in laughter throughout, not to mention his silliness when it came to Rivet. They had chemistry in spades, like sparks came out of my kindle, until it wouldn't be denied anymore, and boy were they HOT HOT HOT! This was such a fantastic story that I'm not coming off any more details since I want everyone to just read it for themselves! So, hit those one click buttons because you can't go wrong with Marie James! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This was a very enjoyable MC read from Marie James following the kids of the original MC books she wrote. Cannon was a very fun, joking lovable character. His interest in Rivet was immediate and it was a great ride seeing him mentally grow and turn into the perfect alpha hero I love to read about. Their story line was easy to follow, had a great flow and of course there may have been a little heat built in as well

Rivet is the first female to be invited to join the Cerberus MC. She meets the boss' son Cannon and she didn't expect to catch feelings for him. Cannon can't get Rivet out of his mind and her rejection makes him want to try harder to get her attention. The two are total opposites but make it work with plenty of steam and sexy times. A good read and great mc series.

Cannon will keep you laughing. I absolutely love the shirts & pick up lines. You can’t help but laugh & love him! Rivet, I’m glad she loosens up, I really liked her as she got more comfortable. I’ve not read all the books in this series but the ones I’ve read, I’ve really liked.

I loved both characters individually but didn't buy them as a couple in love. I felt like there were pieces missing. What happened that caused the randomly thrown out there scars? Overall it is a good addition to the series and I eagerly await the next book.

I liked the natural progression of this story. There wasn't really much drama going on, and that was nice too. 4 stars

I loved Cannon & Rivet.

Cannon was one of the best men in the series in my opinion. I laughed a lot reading this story, I’m always a fan of story where it’s well balanced, and this story had a great balance to it. There was romance, angst, action, spice/sexy time, humor, jealousy from her best friend, and just a well rounded story in general. Cannon had a mouth on him too, not only was he funny, but the dirty talk every so often, so sexy! So bossy and dominant, and yet still so sexy! Rivet was such a good match for him, perfect almost. And when I pictured her in her combat boots, any of those men at the Cerberus clubhouse would be drooling over her! Or at least in my head that’s how it’d go. Lol. This book is now one of my new top 3 favorites in the series! The spice was about a 3/5 for me, which again is well balanced in my opinion.

A few books ago, I was hoping Cannon's story would be with Melissa but I'm actually happy it wasn't.

We always knew there was more to Cannon than him just being a good time guy, he gave off those vibes more than once when helping Griffin through his own problems. Seeing that side come out again as he fell in love was really nice because I was worried we wouldn't get it and would only get his jokester side. I don't love that he was kind of pulled around by Rivet but I am happy that their "what are we" talk wasn't really a conflict and that Bishop didn't come between them either.

Cannon & Rivet

She the first woman to join the Cerberus MC Rivet has show these guys she not just some women. When Cannon the youngest son of Shadow the VP of club set his sights on the newest recruit she shoot him down by laying him out flat on his back. Hurt by her rejection Cannon realizes everyone sees him as the funny kid not the man about to graduate college. He decides to show everyone he can be serious and Rivet see the kind of man he is. Their love story was a joy to read

Seriously the author needs to stop with every book having a scene involving someone walking into a room without being invited in.I took off a star for this because it makes me so mad. It would be different if it was children, but it’s adults.

Also, I took off the star because of the first sec scene of the FMC coming into the MMC’s room and having sex with him when he’s clearly drunk. If the roles were reversed the fandom would be upset with this and consent. It’s not cool at all.

This was a cute story. Cannon's cheesy lines were hilarious. Rivet was a real soldier and since the prior stories only dealt with male veterans, it was nice to see a woman added to the ranks. Her friend was a real bastard and approached his feelings with her the wrong way. The author did great job of writing the characters and the narrators brought them to life.

Opposites attract

Cannon had me laughing my way through this book! Rivet finally brings the balance Cannon needs to help him find his way. I can wait to see what's in store for them!

I loved Cannon’s story and saw how he got more serious and mature as the story went on. Rivet certainly did not take his rubbish but some of his jokes were awful. I love this series and on to Rocker’s book now.

Loved the addition of a female in the Cerberus team. But she met her match with Cannon! He’s a wild child. Although I’m envious and want all of his shorts!
