What’s worse than Gossip? How about a murder…

Spy-in-hiding, Charlotte Mission, is determined to keep her nose clean—after nearly being exposed to the man who’s hunting her, her ex-husband, she’s not interested in getting involved in another murder investigation. That is until the local librarian is slain and her ex-spy grandmother is fingered as the one whodunit.

Charlie’s got to solve the mystery before grandma’s secret stash of weapons—don’t ask, don’t tell—is discovered, and they’re both carted off to federal prison. Or worse. But that’s not going to be easy, what with another agent snooping around, a literal fire to put out, and a new kitty shelter to run.

She must solve the case before grandma goes to jail. Or breaks out of it.

I am enjoying this series about a young spy forced to lay low at her grandmother’s B&B in Gossip, TX. This time her grandmother is the chief suspect in the death of the town’s librarian. It’s always fascinating to see how the plot develops.

My only problem with this book is that it ended rather abruptly leaving at least one loose end that was not resolved.

I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration.

I already wasn't enjoying this book and then the characters admitted they had never watched Star Trek. That's it - I'm out!!! Seriously though, I like cozy mysteries but this one didn't interest me at all.

I've been enjoying this series. The only reason rating isn't higher is due to the high rate of errors in Kindle version. There were over a dozen errors, ranging from typos to wrong person's name.

Agent Charlie Mission, still in hiding as “Charlotte Jean Smith” at her Gamma Georgina’s Gossip Inn B&B, heard someone moving toward her in her bedroom. She feigned sleep until he – most likely her rogue double agent ex-husband, Kyle Graden – reached for her. She grabbed his wrist and threw him across the bed and onto the floor, pouncing on him. He threw her off and blocked each of her attacks until he whispered to stop! She recognized Brian Smulder’s voice -- the agent who was her liaison with the National Security Investigative Bureau (“NSIB”) was meant to keep her safe only from a distance, so something big must have happened. Apparently their boss wanted Smulder to “watch” her, i.e. babysit, after the incident a few months ago where she was front-and-center in a murder at the B&B. She couldn’t allow him to stay! Gamma, a retired spy herself, had an entire armory of weapons in the basement, all of which the NSIB would confiscate if they found out. And Gamma would get in trouble for it.

With breakfast the next day finished, Gamma and Charlie headed to the library for the book club meeting because it gave Charlie a great way to avoid Brian. The librarian Hannah kept them waiting, then she and Gramma glared at each other. Hannah reprimanded her for being late with the basket of books she returned, and threatened to ban her for life from future books! Angry, they went off to select a book for the next club meeting. A bookcase thudded and teetered, almost falling on them. They looked around the bookcase and froze! Hannah the librarian lay on her back in between the rows of books, a knife thrust into her chest!

Since Gamma and Hannah have a history of arguing, and with Gamma’s fingerprints on the murder weapon, she naturally comes under suspicion. With all of the other odd occurrences, Charlie is super busy once again trying to solve a murder! Wait until Brian finds out she is once more creating attention when she should be hiding!

I really love this series so far. It is full of action and interspersed with humor. The story line is well-paced, the characters are delightful and make the book fun to read. Even their cat will keep you chuckling! Grab your copy and see how our super-spy copes with a murderer to keep Gamma out of jail!

The first book in this series was pretty good, and then it plummeted.

Charlie Mission/Smith is an awful spy. She is constantly having to be told by her Granny how to do everything spy-related so the character comes off as inept, not at the top of her class for the NSIB.

There are too many red herrings in the story like the ring, and how she knows who the ring actually belonged to was not explained. She saw someone missing a ring without remembering seeing them wear it or seeing a picture of it and automatically knew who it belonged to, not that it was important to the case in the grander scheme of things because everything is just super easily blurted out in the last few pages. No real detective work is necessary.

The book just dangled a bunch of loose ends IE: what's up with Lauren, what about the hunt for Granny, is she going to lose her contract for fostering cats? They are left dangling because the crime is resolved on the very last page of the book. (Spoiler alert: Every dangling bit is resolved at the start of the next book, with no explanation why or how just everything is back to normal and the whole Lauren thing is resolved)

The pacing was very badly done in this book.

I just had to return to the Gossip Inn and see what Charlie and her grandma were up to over Valentine's Day. Charlie's ex-partner in the spy business was stationed there now to keep an eye on her, and Charlie felt like she now had a babysitter, so she and Gamma had to be extra careful, especially when there was a murder that pointed to Gamma as the killer!

I just love Gamma's character! She's an awesome lady who isn't afraid of anything, except maybe that drug lord she's hiding from coming back to finish her off. Even then, I think she'd probably find a way to get out of that mess. I loved how she and Charlie solved this! For once, the main character wasn't the threatenee of the killer at the showdown. I won't give any more details, because it's a cool showdown, and Charlie may or may not be involved somehow. ;)

Murder in a literary sense.

Charlotte is an ex-spy in hiding and the tiny town of Gossip, Texas is the perfect place to do that. Her ex-spy grandmother already lives there with an entire arsenal of spy tools and armament to deal with any possible threats but none of that will protect them when her grandmother becomes the prime suspect in a murder. If they don’t solve the case before the case and pictures appear in newspapers their covers will be blown and they will have to run for their lives. To complicate matters, Agent Brian Smulder has been sent by the NSIB to keep an eye on her every move and make sure she doesn’t do anything more to compromise her cover.

This is a fun cozy mystery with a good plot and interesting characters. The spy gear that comes into play at times adds opportunities for humor and action. I am really enjoying this series.

Once again the ladies at the Gossip Inn find themselves having to solve a murder. This time Georgina is in the hot seat when Hannah the librarian is murdered. Georgina and Hannah have a history of not getting along and when Georgina's fingerprints are found on the murder weapon she becomes the prime suspect. To complicate their investigation even further Charlotte's agency liaison Brian Mulder shows up to babysit her, an arsonist is setting fires around town, Lauren is not acting herself, and it is Valentines week and the whole town is celebrating.

An enjoyable cozy with a bit of spy tactics thrown in. Charlotte is hiding undercover in Texas while on Hiatus from her career as a spy. Her retired spy grandmother has an inn i the town of Gossip. Believe me the small town residents like to gossip. This plus the murders that keep happening are making it hard for Charlotte to stay hidden. Her agency sends in her partner to act as a handler which adds one more person to hide her sleuthing from. Of course the irony of Agent Smulder’s arrival right at Valentine’s Day adds to the plot line. While being a light hearted mystery with some cliche moments the story is fin and the mystery is enjoyable to unravel. Looking forward to the next in the series

Book 2 of the Mission Inn-Possible Series.

Well Charlie's still undercover at Gamma's inn and now her handler, Brian, has come to stay there. He was suppose to be a recluse, but with a new murder things change. Gamma is the prime suspect in the death of the local librarian who does like Gamma. Charlie changes Brian identity by making him the gardener since the regular cook is off a Gamma is at the police station.

How much can Charlie and Gamma hide from Brian about there investigation? Will Brian find Gamma's arsenal? Who killed the librarian and why? And how many cupcakes can Charlie eat?

Charlie is not thrilled to see her fellow agent come to the Gossip Inn to keep an eye on her. She is still in hiding from her ex and is supposed to keep clear of any spying or investigations. However, whenever a body is found, Gammy is the primary suspect. She must be very discreet in finding the answers, or suffer consequences. I love the relationship between Gammy and Charlie, filled with humor and mischief.

This is the second book in the series. The main characters are Charlie, Gamma, and now Agent Smulder. This books starts with Agent Smulder showing up in the middle of the night. He has been sent to babysit Charlie and Charlie isn't too happy about that. Gamma is once again accused of murder and then there are two fires, one at the Hungry Steer and the other at Gamma's inn. Now they are coming to arrest Gamma who goes into hiding. Now Charlie has to find out who did this before it's too late. Can she figure this out in time?

I’d definitely put this series in the category of cozy mystery. If you are someone who enjoyed watching Murder She Wrote on TV back in the day, then this would be right up your alley. I can tell it’s going to be one of those series where murders happen at an uncanny frequency in this very small town, and the two main characters (Grandma and Granddaughter) solve the crime each time.

There was nothing mind-blowing about the mystery, but it was entertaining enough. It’s an easy read that can be finished in an afternoon.

Love is in the air in this Valentine's Day cozy. The question is how far would someone would go in the name of love when the local librarian is found murdered and Gamma is the main suspect. Is it worth risking their identity, committing arson, or even murder or maybe it never had anything to do with love to begin with.

I loved Strawberry Sin and am now hooked on the series. Charlie and Gamma grabs you and pulls you in from the start. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I love the scenario, the interaction between the characters and the mystery of whodunit. I think the story and characters were very well developed and it felt like you were living Gossip. Cocoa Puff was cute and Lauren sounds like a fantastic baker.

Strawberry Sin is the second book in the "A Mission Inn-possible Cozy Mystery" series and is an entertaining read.

I loved Gossip Inn and its quirky characters. Ex-spies Charlie and Gamma are off to solve a murder before Gamma goes down for it. This story is well written and entertaining, with murder, motive, humour, and hiding out at the Gossip Inn.

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Charlie is supposed to be in hiding at her grandmother's Gossip Inn B&B, but things keep happening that brings attention to her that her boss isn't overly happy about. But Charlie can't help but find out who a killer is, especially when this time her Gramma could be in BIG trouble...in more ways than one! A delightful story, with great characters.

Cupcakes

Another fun story with Charlotte and Gamma. Easy, quick read. Enjoyable story. Kept my interest. At the end of the chapter I was always curious to see what would happen next & continued reading. Cupcakes were a fun part of the story, too. Great cozy mystery. I intend to read the next one in the series.

Dry

There's a murder at the library, and Gamma is on the hook. Charlie has to find the real killer while avoiding detection by her babysitter, Smulder, and any publicity. The mystery is lightweight and disappointing; competent investigation would have easily yielded motive and means. All in all, a rather dry read.

I still absolutely adore these cute, cozy mystery books but this one just fell a little flat for me. It was just a little too cheesy for me during the reveal of the murderer.

Other than that, I love these quick mysteries. Even though they are about murder, they are still wholesome and I love the relationship between Charlie and Gamma.

This is the second book in the A Mission Inn-possible series by Rosie A. Point. I enjoyed this book and recommend it. I feel that this book is better than the first, though we still don’t know why Charlie and her grandmother are in danger. The plot moved steadily throughout the book. As much as I like this series, I believe the characters could have a bit more depth. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
