10,080 minutes fly fast when Bill's cousin Wally and his copper-colored dog Alexander come for a visit. Alexander manages to tangle with all kinds of wildlife, from skunks and snapping turtles to a giant red bull. And a late night visit from some mysterious strangers leads to a priceless gift for Wally. Come along with the Sugar Creek Gang and you'll learn that following Jesus is just as important for city boys as it is for country boys.
The Sugar Creek Gang series chronicles the faith-building adventures of a group of fun-loving, courageous Christian boys. These classic stories have been inspiring children to grow in their faith for more than five decades. More than three million copies later, children continue to grow up relating to members of the gang as they struggle with the application of their Christian faith to the adventure of life.
Now that these stories have been updated for a new generation, you and your child can join in the Sugar Creek excitement.
I read the book Bull Fighter by Paul Hutchen's. The book took place in country and the main characters are Bill, Wally, and the members of The Sugar Creek Gang. I found this book in the library and I wanted to read it because it's about bull fighting and the country.
Bill is a teenage boy who is full of excitement and loves to do dangerous and mysterious things and his cousin Wally and his dog Alexander has came to visit him. Bill and Wally are close but Bill don't like his dog because he's always getting in the way and is always chasing other animals. Bill is apart of The Sugar Creek Gang and they are Christian boys that get together and do things and they got Bill and Wally into bull fighting and Wally's dog also fought the bull.
My response of the ending of the book was that it was very interesting and Bill and Wally and his dog teamed up to do the most dangerous things.
My opinion on the book is that it's interesting and fun to read. Similar books are " One stormy day" and "The Killer Cat" both by Paul Hutchen's. You would like this book if you are a cowboy and like bull fighting.
Trouble with cousins and wild dogs! Some times people need to give a person who's different a chance, which takes patience and under standing. Which is what Bill had to come to grips with, and found out a lot of things about his city cousin and his hyper nervous dog. A great story that teaches how to really treat other people like you would want to be, giving them a real chance of becoming a friend in the process. Debra H.
My favorite part of this book was the surprise gang meeting. Yes, these boys are human, and they often make mistakes, but I’m constantly amazed that to them, being cool is being a Christian. I pray for this generation’s kids, that they will feel the same way. Very well done!
